This works well, and is on sale (as of 24 Mar 17)

Also, for Americans, Best Buy stocks it as well at this price.

Kind of. The CDK09 seems to emulate a mouse, (not a proper touchpad), and the gestures are hard-coded windows key+x combinations.

the pointer speed could probably be fixed under the mouse options in windows, and the gestures thing has been addressed a few times in the forums. One way to do it is to disable the windows key using a 3rd party program, or through the registry. This really comes down to personal preference.

Hopefully you can hack together a solution that works for you!

I have a whine too, but very quiet. I haven’t looked into too much, and I don’t want to open it up it investigate. The whine changes tone when processing (like moving webpages and stuff). I can hear it when there is no ambient noise, but doesn’t seem to affect the performance of anything. I’m just hoping the thing won’t fail catastrophically because of it.

I can’t remember the googled article I found, but I managed to disable the win+d combination in the registry. Hopefully that’s a (windows) solution for you.

No, unfortunately. It uses a System on a Chip, which on the Book contains 4 GB of RAM.

You are probably better off with one from Microsoft. If you download the “media creation tool” from Microsoft, it automatically downloads the image and installs it onto a usb drive. You can boot off the USB drive and install it that way, it will automatically detect the license key from your BIOS.

Yeah, that would be nice. Please feel free to do so.
