This forum wont let me include the direct link for you. So just Google the following term. It should be the first result you get with a link to all the codecs for all versions of Windows and Linux too.
“Realtek PC Audio Codecs > High Definition Audio Codecs Software”
Be prepared for a long wait downloading this 254MB file. It took almost 2 hours for me on fast fibre my end. I think they must be using dial up at Realtek lol. Reminded me of the God awful bandwidth speeds at Creative for downloading their drivers and updates.
November 27, 2019 at 3:33 am #182130Have to say that my experience of a non powered hubs have been fairly patchy over the years.. You have to make sure you aren’t using too many ports on the adapter simultaneously. A problem I gather with most non powered hubs and rarely something to do with the laptop.
However, my adapters HDMI port was working consistently for a while and then stopped working altogether. All other ports are working just fine. But come what may I cannot get the HDMI working anymore. I’ve decided to get a powered hub in future when funds are more available.
But I was curious if anyone had a similar issue and resolved it at all? Maybe the i35 (or all laptops) reach a limit of how much power it can send individually to each port on its laptop, regardless if all ports are being used or not. It’s a vague solution given my HDMI port was working before, but maybe someone had a similar issue.
June 22, 2019 at 11:37 pm #181066Hi Kyle,
Yeah, I think I’m going for the laptop mount but placing it upside down eventually. However for now, simply holding the laptop like a book in portrait mode in my lap seems to be a reasonably way of holding it for sketching purposes.
Of course it’s not a perfect solution if you need to use tools like rulers or if you want to draw in landscape mode. But the laptop is a comfortable enough weight to make this a very doable option for most artists. Most of my current drawing is outdoors anyway. I think I’ll eventually just splash out on a large Cintiq or Huion screen once the frustration to go further begins to set in.
The i35 really is a very good screen for drawing for the price. The only other slight drawback is the fully laminated (slippery) screen, which just means you have to adjust your pressure levels to suit the surface better. Frankly it’s a price I’m willing to pay for such a beautiful screen.
I also highly recommend an MS Surface pen rather than any third party pens. I get the best fluid drawing with the MS pen than I do with other ones, including Wacom. It seems the MS pens are just better calibrated for the screen and touch technology built into the i35.
June 8, 2019 at 2:46 pm #152147This tablet stand seemed ideal at first.
Until I realised that whilst it says it accommodates up to 13.5 inch devices. it can only accommodate width wise up to 9.6 inches. Width size is the important factor of course, since you cannot remove the keyboard from the screen. Width of i35 is around 12.32 inches.
I figure I could use a normal laptop stand but upside down, with the screen resting in the spot where the keyboard normally rests. But with few to none of those types of stands offering any kind of screen (back) support I’m concerned the weight of the bottom (keyboard) part of the i35 could put unnecessary strain on the screen hinge. But short of making one myself I’m beginning to think this is the only real solution available for the i35.
June 8, 2019 at 1:21 pm #152145I’ve been considering it, but not done so far. The device manager says its SATA so not NVMe. Albeit being SATA in the M.2 form factor. It appears the maximum upgrade currently is 2TB in this form factor, which would be a nice size for the i35. But it does cost almost 40-50% of the full cost of the machine itself. 🙂
Of course if you do decide to upgrade it. Make sure you clone the new drive in full including the hidden partitions containing the OS provided by the i35. I’ve managed to extract those hidden partitions to put separately onto a thumb drive in case of a catastrophic drive failure. In theory this should allow me to recover the i35 setup and OS to a new drive. But I would probably recommend cloning wherever possible as it’s a faster and more efficient way to upgrade the SSD drive.
