I just wanted to add this here (I just posted this in the official Chuwi forum where someone else was having the same problem).
Android:
1. Boot Android
2. Insert SD card
3. Pull down notifications from top of screen and click on the notification about the SD card. You may have to take out the card and reinsert it several times (giggity).
4. It will prompt you to format the card (do it)
5. Card should show up under storage now (a 128gb will show 119gb available).Windows:
1. Go here: http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/reading-sdxc-card/#post-23380 and download the driver.
2. Boot Windows
3. Go to device manager
4. Expand storage controllers and double click on SD storage class controller
5. Select driver tab and chose update driver.
6. Select browse my computer for driver and go to the driver downloaded in step 1.The card should show up in Windows now.
June 9, 2016 at 6:29 pm #40364Thanks Marc! Im going to pin switchnow to the start menu tonight. I have heard of bitdefender, I’ll give it a try.
I fixed the sd card problem. I delted the SD storage class controller driver and replaced it with the one posted here: http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/reading-sdxc-card/#post-23380 (thanks Samuel!).
So, can anybody confirm pressing F12 at boot to get to chipset > northbridge?
June 8, 2016 at 6:25 pm #40294Yeah, i searched for the app and it didn’t come up. Of course I’m not real familiar with windows 10 yet, so it might be user error. If I find it, I’ll post how to get to it.
Also just wanted to say how awesome this tablet is for reading comics!
June 8, 2016 at 3:25 pm #40272Couple of new questions if anyone can help:
1. When I switch to tablet mode in windows, I can’t find the switch to android button. I’ve searched and can’t find it. Anyone know how to find it in tablet mode?
2. Antivirus recommendations for either os? I usually go with maleware bytes and avast, but avast has been clogging up my android phone lately.
June 7, 2016 at 6:59 pm #40206Ah, so its a “feature” lol!
Chris,
Is what I said above correct? Go to cpu settings via pressing F12 at boot, then Northbridge?
June 7, 2016 at 3:02 pm #401881. So, based on that thread, I will need a keyboard and when booting up windows, press F12 to get into the bios (which I assume is chipset)?
2. I erased and formatted the card in android first, but it did not specify fat32. I thought that was its default, but maybe not. I will format it in windows as fat32 specifically and see what happens.
3. Sorry, for the vagueness here. When the OS selectors appear, I can’t pick one, so it just boots into windows automatically after about 30 seconds. Pressing the OS icon, then ok does nothing. Maybe im supposed to drag it to ok?
Thanks for the reply!
June 5, 2016 at 9:13 pm #39955Are there any tutorials out there for thermal mod ding the hi12?
June 2, 2016 at 3:06 pm #39621Thanks Rogus, thats exactly what I was looking for. On the chuwi official forums, it is being recommended to disable auto driver updates to avoid the bricking issue (Chuwi engineers are working on it). What is the issue with bluetooth and wifi? This would be pretty inconvenient because I use bluetooth headset while streaming.
June 2, 2016 at 3:01 pm #39620I’ve got a hipen on the way from banggood. As suggested above, I would file a claim with paypal as soon as they offered a coupon instead of a refund.
May 31, 2016 at 5:30 pm #39373The new coupon code in the banner ad is working. I just ordered the Hipen with it.
May 31, 2016 at 5:28 pm #39372Id like to post a follow up to the original question: Is there any setting changes recommended when first getting the Hi12? A friend of mine got a Teclast tbook and disabled Windows auto update because it was constantly slowing it down. I was just curious what everyone thinks about that and if there’s anything else (besides the 1600 change).
Edit: Sorin, I was also wondering if you got yours back from customs?
May 31, 2016 at 1:39 pm #39334I think these two responses (thanks to both, by the way) shows how inconsistent these vendors are. I actually got a DHL tracking number yesterday. DHL is only showing that they received the shipping info, but it’s a start. So, I guess I’m sticking with gearbest and will keep an eye on that tracking.
May 27, 2016 at 5:22 am #38751Thanks foop. If I end up canceling with Gearbest, I’ll try that code!
May 25, 2016 at 5:39 pm #38581Thank for the replies! I thought resolution might have to be toned down.
May 25, 2016 at 5:37 pm #38580Ouch, sorry you had to find out that way! I wonder if Core will release an i9 dual boot?
