Thanks Chris, I contacted the vendor who sold me the tablet on Aliexpress a secod time, took some time to get an answer, probably cause they had to contact Chuwi about the replacement parts. Apparently they can get the digitizer and back casing for me but it will cost me around 100$ (+22%VAT + 15-20€ for the privilege of having the parcel opened and checked by the local customs) . I paid the tablet 216€ + 65€ VAT and customs fee, so paying half of that sum on top of that for the digitizer and back casing doesn’t seem like a good deal (might as well sell the damaged tablet for parts and  buy a brnd new one). Thankfully the tablet is still working and the cracks on the digitizer don’t extend over the working surface of the display (yet). I’ll keep using the tablet in it’s present condition and hunting for cheaper parts on Ebay or Aliexpress. Hopefully replacement parts will start appearing in online stores, the product has been on the market for eight months and I imagine the demand for spare components will only increase with time.

Have you tried: Settings>System> Power & Sleep> under Sleep select OFF for “Save me power when my device (or Cortana if you’re logged in with your Microsoft ID)  knows I’m away”? Also in Power & Sleep, if you scroll down to Additional power settings and open it, you will have the option to “Change advanced power settings” for your Balanced plan. In the pop up window, under Sleep, you can set hybernation to Never while on battery power, by default it’s set to after 240 minutes.

Hi, noticed the same problem is occurring with my Hi12. To wake the tablet from sleep one should just press the power button, right? My Chuwi had the hybernation counter set to 240min by default but would hybernate after some 20 minutes of non use, and now it’s doing the same with hybernation set to Never. Meaning I have to long press the power button and select the boot manually to turn it on again, the apps and documents I left open will be there again once it boots to Windows. Anything I can do about this strange behavior? Is it perhaps connected to the use of a magnetic “smart” cover?

Which means, if you live in Slovenia – Europe, like me,  a country which strictly follows EU rules and regulations, you’re better off ordering the tablet from a european Amazon site. You’ll pay circa the same as ordering directly from China, after domestic custom duties and taxes (65€ in my case), but you’ll have the usually solid Amazon warranty/protection on top of that. If however you live in a EU country with a relaxed bureaucracy, where customs officers amuse themself with more important tasks than checking import papers for each and every single parcel arriving from outside Europe (hello Italy) you will still profit by ordering the tablet from a chinese vendor. Got mine from China but I wish I had bought it from Amazon.de instead.

As Chuwi actively sell their products to end customers, they’ve decided not to send out Hi12 units to the retail sellers (Like Banggood, Gearbest, Geekbuying etc) at this point, until Hi12 is in greater stock. .

So, where can one get a Chuwi directly from the manufacturer? I spotted a Chuwi Official Store on Aliexpress, is that it?
