Imareal, No I didn’t take an image of windows first as I thought that the updated firmware would include the same version of windows, so that microsoft would activate windows, as the hardware is the same, I used ReLoader Activator, to activate, I dont like to use Activating software but I’m not going to spend £100 on a new windows key on a £50 tablet.

I used windows reset and deleted all files to get rid of the chinese account and set the tablet up as new, ie: choose language, create user and password.

The problem I’m having now is because its dual boot Android takes up 8gb of the storage so windows now only has 3gb of free space, so I cant install the windows 10 November 1511 update, as there isn’t enough space, even if I download the update to micro sd it still requires about 10gb of free space to install?

Does anybody know how to do a clean install of windows 10 and still retain the dual boot with android? I think windows 10 enterprise is a smaller install so I might gain enough space?

    Hi

When I received mine some of it was in English, most of it was Chinese though. I reinstalled windows with the windows option under control panel being suspicious of it. Once reinstalled it was all in Chinese, but you can watch a you tube video showing how to download a language pack it shows you step by step so you can follow it even through you dont know what your doing because the tablets in Chinese. Once this is done you need to make English the primary language, its pretty straight forward once you have download the language pack. Then just make sure all the language options are turned to English and it works mint.

Once you have reinstalled windows then you can enter your own Microsoft account and away you go!!

    Hope this helps

    hello everyone

I bought the windows 10 version of Cube iwork8 ultimate and i decided to install the dual boot.

I was able to flash the Android image

The problem is when i try to install Windows 10, i have a problem with WINPE, the info is that the program can`t find the drive i created. i followed the tutorial step by step, and nothing works.

i leave the image below, so you can see what info is on screen.

I hope somebody can help me with a solution

Just flashed mine and like others, the activation was lost and since the version of Windows is different my original key doesn’t work. Oh well. More concerning is that my SD card slot no longer recognizes large sized cards (sees 16GB but not my 128GB). Not sure if it’s a driver issue or what. The 128GB works in Android.

OK, so after 1 week of using android (I didn’t flash windows 10 at all) I’ve some issues with the stability. Sometimes the tablet will just freeze, and hard reset is required. There are no “triggers” for this. Before on Windows 10 it was running fine for days, so I don’t suspect a hardware thing. Does the Windows 10 flashing part has to do anything to do with android part?

Also, is there a way to flas this tablet to be android only?

Well I decided to flash the dual boot as well, only the Windows 10 didn’t go well. And indeed, now it only boots x64 versions. However as soon the x64 Windows installer is booted, no more keyboard access, so pretty much useless. The official Win10 boot files for won’t complete the imaging script, it failes due to not finding the main imaging cmd script.

I tried to inject the latest x64 Intel Skylake soc drivers in the boot & install wim files, which seems to me are the usb drivers, but no dice.

Android version is pretty buggy as well, some freezes and brightness adjuster not working, from what I’ve seen so far.

Paul, I’ve seen that comment around tablets many times; seems that it usually works if you take out the card and re-insert it when changing to Windows. No personal experience, by the way, merely repeating what I’ve seen around the web.

Not sure what you mean by that. I’ve tried reinserting and rebooted, reformatted on another PC. Android sees it. I can also use a smaller 16GB card in Windows just fine, just not the bigger 128GB, which worked fine before I flashed the dual boot 64bit version. Pretty sure it’s a driver issue but don’t have any other driver files to try.

IMO if you want to do much in Windows, stick with Windows only. Dual boot vers, 32GB of storage is not enough. I only have 5.5GB free in my Windows partition, and that is with virtually nothing installed, and I can’t even upgrade to the latest version 1511 so can’t even move apps to SD. For Android, it works great, except for a few bugs. Is quite fast and enough storage.

Iv seen the hassles everyones being having installing dual boot so im not going to atempt it at this stage, but i see that windows is now 64bit where as before it was 32bit. has anyone only updated windows 32bit to windows 64bit without having dual boot? Just straight windows 10 64bit?

    cheers

    Ry

Yeah I tried not possible the bios says can’t install on a 32bit system. Also the system fails to see 32bit boot drives,  tried installing win 7 32bit so could activate win 10 which was no go

Daniele, Very good for watching movies. But I think too small by itself to be productive in photoshop (by itself, meaning you could plug in a larger monitor, keyboard and mouse ). The windows buttons are just so small that I’d get frustrated doing any real productivity on it alone. I’m actually just looking to change mine over to Remix (android) when it’s possible. Then use Google docs and Picasa for dealing with documents and images in a much more friendly environment.

Sorry Paul, accidentally quoted you there. But to answer what I meant responding to you, they said they just had to take it out BEFORE booting to Windows and then insert it for SD card to be recognized. I use a 64Gb card on Windows only iwork8u (but hoping to change to Remix! it’s soooo good on the Cube i6).
