January 30, 2018 at 7:40 pm #77989I’m also unlocked to v5 🙂 Giovanni’s guide was way too good to fail, thanks!
@Patrick.. still don’t know how to boot from the ssd instead of the EMMChope you find a way.. good luck

If you want to tag me, my username is thegiollyJanuary 30, 2018 at 8:00 pm #77993And how is the quality? Do you have the keyboard lag aswell? And also: where do you live and where did you order it? On gearbest? 64 or 128gb?
Coming from a eeepc it looks and feels premium. didn’t notice any lag.
Portugal, gearbest would take forever. geekbuying warehouse in spain.
January 30, 2018 at 8:11 pm #77994Still hate the fact that the on/off button is on the official “Del” location. If want to delete something my EZB3 goes to sleep.
Also bought it on geekbuying and German warehouse. Received it within 5 days.
January 30, 2018 at 8:25 pm #77995Wanted to remove the file on p5, but I’m not able to do that. Will update the post instead to not use the file then. @kean3d, can you just boot into the EFI shell? I always used the EFI shell to read and write the ROM.
i can’t, i also tried a blind re-flash with my original backupped bios, still no luck
damn,
January 30, 2018 at 8:33 pm #77996@kean3D, but that is then strange. If you were able to reflash it with the original rom, then the rom file itself is not the issue. Even my file could be OK then. And the fact that it works with my EZB, I expect it has to do with either your mainboard, or combination with the settings.
Nevertheless it is strange.
January 30, 2018 at 8:36 pm #77997January 30, 2018 at 8:55 pm #77998yes very strange; no i can’t reflash, i have black screen, just the blue led is working
i just tried to blind flash, with the same procedure, but on the black screen and with my backupped bios
just tryin everything but i think my mainboard is different from your at this point..
and as now just a bios reprogram can back this pc to live, no more option
January 30, 2018 at 8:58 pm #77999@patrick – just installed a clean win10 on the ssd… still no luck. bios doesn’t recognize the kingspec ssd as a bootable disk… @giovanni cool
rocket!
What about installing the bootloader in the EMMC and the system in the SSD?

January 30, 2018 at 10:21 pm #78005Which version kingspec SSD did you buy? I ordered the 512 gb version from ali. This not booting from bios makes me a bit nervous indeed.
January 30, 2018 at 11:51 pm #78085Hi Folks,
my Intel SSD is still acting in a strange way, but there is at least some progress:
Fiddling around with all types of settings without a clear methodology, I switched back to “default” values and – tadaaa – all of a sudden the Intel SSD was recognized and listed in the BIOS tab with the SATA settings.Formatting in Windows still doesn’t work. At the moment I’m dd’ing it with all zeroes from a Manjaro Live USB (one of the rare distros that boot/work).
I’d prefer to run Xubuntu on the Ezbook, but unfortunately I can’t get the 17.10 iso (that I respun with the refind boot manager) to start the install routine. The links are there but somehow broken, very annoying.
So in parallel to zero’ing the drive for a fresh start (and attempting to install Win10 to the SSD then), I’m preparing several distros for live usb tests, e.g. mint, elementary…https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernst_Kuzorra
January 31, 2018 at 4:50 am #78089@giovanni could i ask you an advice since you are clearely the most advanced user and bios modder?
as read around already many jumper users got problems with bios just changing settings (black screen with blue led on)
i am almost convinced that it is my problem, and if i disconnect battery (resetting bios) i will fix it;
cause flash was ok and checks too (image was taked before rebooting, last time i saw the screen on)i attached here both my original v6 bios backupped, and the v6 modded one i flashed
when you can and if you want can you please check thoose for see if are matching, so i will be sure that the battery trick will solve my problem before avoid the warranty..
i will be so gratefull -
