Exactly what I wanted to hear- thanks.
I was afraid it was going to be the same situation as this – http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/otg-charge-and-data-usb-c/
Thankfully not as it seems to be a proper usb 3.1 port with all the correct standards. Means I would be able to charge it from a normal usb charger (assuming it outputs enough power) if I forgot to take the original charger.
Looking forward to any another info!
March 9, 2016 at 8:38 pm #28639How do You found battery Life of your i9?
March 10, 2016 at 10:17 am #28697@gabriele-adragna Battery life has been really good, I have it watching a film 3 hour movie the other day with WIFI etc.. on, and it wasnt even half done. Im going to do some battery tests over the weekend, so full drain down from 100% etc… and then see the charging times too.
@chris Any sort of software you can recommend to do these battery tests?Gaming bench marks will be done today, i have to work late yesterday.
March 10, 2016 at 10:21 am #28698@chris How much did you get your tablet for ? i got it when it went down low, i paid $503, i noitced a few days later they put the price up but i have seen afew other places bring the price down again now.
Im looking at getting a keyboard but the lowest ive seen is $70, not sure i want to pay that much? my standard usb keyboard is doing me find until it drops, Not seen a stylus for this either yet
March 10, 2016 at 11:10 am #28706@kurpter Thanks for the power adapter shot. Good to see its a proper USB 3.1 port. So full docks with display output, usb ports, lan and power will work, making a good one plug docking station. Perfect!
I got mine for over $503 from So Cube. And the keyboard I ordered on Aliexpress. I was just told it will not ship until April! So I might cancel and wait to get it on Banggood.com I don’t think it has a stylus this version at least. Wait for the i9 Stylus for that.

Battery bar Pro is quite useful for getting a very good estimation. I use it and when I work on the web and if it says consumed 3 hours of battery and reports 50% battery life and estimate 3 left, then you get the idea. 6 hours with 50% battery, wifi on using Chrome for example.
PCMark8 can run exact simulated battery tests.

April what the fuck haha.
March 10, 2016 at 3:13 pm #28725@Jason6168 my USB 3.1 hub is here, The hub still transfers files at the right speed, the network lan on it now downloads at the same speed as my pc. The Hub outputs power to the usb devices but will not allow input charge.
USB Type c to hdmi outputs fine.
@chris Mate i feel your pain doing video’s, so many re-edits, people chatting when your trying to record, things going wrong etc…. Such a pain!
anything anyone wants testing. MY gaming and battery stats are ongoing as we speak.
March 10, 2016 at 3:41 pm #28729Yes, the videos aren’t easy. I have a loud 2 year old too in the background that sometimes requires new audio voice overs haha. But half the battle is the camera to get the screen captured correctly. Use a manual fixed exposure and shutter speed, later the screen looks washed, things always go wrong. Which is why most, if not all of my videos are unscripted and made up of various clips normally. A 17-25 minute review video is around 3-4 days of work sometimes if I include setting up all the benchmarks and games to test. So imagine if I was doing all that fancy pan shots people do it would take me even longer to get a video out!
Just yesterday I had to redo a whole bunch of videos because my Blue Yeti Mic didn’t record the external audio correctly due to a bad PC setting and the camera audio was so bad I had to can the whole lot! I certainly have my days.
Anyway, shame about the hub not charging the tablet, maybe we need a few more Amps output from another 12v charger?

March 10, 2016 at 8:59 pm #28759@Jason6168 @chris I tell a Lie, I have just plugged the usb type c hub in to the tablet with my HTC m8 plus (2 amp plug) and it does charge the tablet. Yeah!
Sorry been alot on the raod today so not had much time to do all the other tests.
March 10, 2016 at 9:01 pm #28760@chris 1 thing i have noticed it doing, I have a 128 gig micro sd card in the slot, and it seems to forget its there after every reboot, So i need to take it out and put it back in again. then i have to point steam to the dir’s again! annoying
March 10, 2016 at 11:49 pm #28780Great news about the hub being able to charge the tablet after all!
Looking forward to some battery test results, hopefully it can last around 6 hours with medium brightness.
March 11, 2016 at 6:30 pm #28880I’ve just found that Gearbest now has the keyboard and after 20 minutes of trial and error coupon hunting. I found one that gives 10% off, bringing the price down from $70 to $63. Apparently it’s shipping after the 19th. At least it’s not April, ordered it so will see.
The i9 keyboard listing is here: http://www.gearbest.com/tablet-accessories/pp_329452.html and coupon 55liuhao for 10% off.
