Ah ok, sorry but I am not very practical about these things 😀
January 31, 2017 at 6:03 pm #61294Hey folks
My cube i7 book is having the ghost touch issues due to no grounding in the supplied dc charger. I’ve read probably too much for my own good. I have seen contradicting statements about the polarity of the dc charger. I found this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G1TPK94/ref=olp_product_details?_encoding=UTF8&me= on Amazon and I was wondering if anybody had any experience with this replacement charger. The last thing I want is a fried tablet! I’m currently out of town at a relatives without the ability to use my multi-meter to check polarity properly, and the supplied charger has no indication of polarity from what I can see.
Any input is greatly appreciated. I love this device and want it to last as long as possible.
January 31, 2017 at 8:03 pm #61304I ordered this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/112150118601?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I hope it’s good, the one that came with my tablet is not EU plug and the adapter the seller sent doesn’t fit our outlets, fortunately I have a bunch of adapters here. Can you post a picture of your original charger? Mine is working perfectly even with our bad electric installations and an old adapter.
January 31, 2017 at 11:33 pm #61312Sure thing! http://imgur.com/a/CVWh2
Sorry my phone is dead so I had to use the front facing on my tablet which is horrid obviously haha, but there it is. The case I have it in seems prone to wear if I remove and replace the tablet too often, so I try not to.
This charger also gets overly hot which is a concern of mine too. I love the tablet otherwise, so much fun drawing in photoshop. I wish they would get these chargers under control….why design such a beautiful device and disrespect it with garbage potentially damaging chargers? :O
I’m also putting extra wear on my battery by having to take it off the charger and drain the battery (due to the ghost touches making it essentially unusable without a mouse). I’ll probably order some backups for when I lose too much capacity, as according to battery report I’ve already lost a decent bit.
February 1, 2017 at 12:20 am #61315I’ve had a similar batterybar report. It said the battery was diminished by 12.6% after about 30 recharges. I thought it was a damaged battery because the charger is 12v 2amp as opposed to 12v 2.5 amps that the Cube spec is stamped on the back case. Despite what others say, my electrical background says NEVER charge with LESS amperage, more is fine but less NO. The voltage has to match and does, but amperage at .5 amps less is no good for the battery or battery controller.I’ve also tried researching replacement batteries and so far a dead end.So, please let us all know if you find out anything, thanks
February 1, 2017 at 11:17 am #61378iEC Type-C USB 3.0 Hub with Charging Port with 4K HDMI and Power Delivery works with my cube i7 book, I don’t have usb-c charger so can’t try that one, but usb and hdmi working fine
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B01BBG33DC/ref=pe_386171_51767411_TE_dp_1
Ps. I’m about to buy usb-c charger, which should I get? Ivoler 75w or this https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01C847NUK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3VIZVBY06QYHB 60W Anker with powerdelivery?Edit. I ordered Innergie-PowerGear-USB-C-45-Adapter, I will inform you if it works, it supports PD 12v/3A. I won’t use stock charger at all because it’s rated at 12v/2A.
February 1, 2017 at 1:19 pm #61384Hi I recently bought the cube i7 book, from how I read the charger supplied is not good? Should I buy a good third 12v 3a charger to avoid problems?
and if so what is the best charger for the i7 book?

I didn’t see any problems with the supplied charger, it’s not the best, the plug is US and the adapter the seller sent doesn’t fit our outlets but I have plenty of adapters here and it’s working well.

If you get charger rated at 12v/2amps, you shouldn’t use it because it might damage your battery. It says that charger input is 12v 2.5A in cubes back cover. So it should be 2.5A or higher charger.
I got 12V/2A charger with my cube i7 book, ordered from banggood.
February 1, 2017 at 4:58 pm #61399I ordered this one because it has the right plug for our outlets here http://www.ebay.com/itm/112150118601?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Now that you said, the charger I got from AliExpress is also 12V/2A.
February 1, 2017 at 5:26 pm #61400Hey folks My cube i7 book is having the ghost touch issues due to no grounding in the supplied dc charger. The charger the tablet came with has positive polarity on the inside and negative on the outside. It’s the same polarity to the charger you linked from amazon.
You can tell by looking at the pictogram on the charger that shows you a semicircle and a dot, the semicircle is outside and the dot inside.
As for charging something with lower amps:
If the charger has lower amps than the device needs it’s still going to work but you put more strain on the charger itself by creating excess heat. This can damage the charger over time and have consequences ranging from the charger frying and not working anymore up to a cable fire.
With this knowledge out of the way, if the generated heat does not get dangerously hot than it should be no problem using the charger over a longer period of time. Good chargers have a safety mechanism that shuts them down when they operate under heavy duty. Now it is for everyone to decide if they trust the charger that cube ships with the tablet. Personaly I would look at how hot it gets while charging and base my decision on that, but since I’m charging mine over USB C from day one I frankly couldn’t care less about the original charger.
February 1, 2017 at 6:19 pm #61402My original charger get hots but nothing serious. Well, I’ll wait the new one to arrive to see if it’s better. At least I don’t need an adapter to use it.
February 1, 2017 at 6:53 pm #61403Great info Wylver. I appreciate your time. You have put my mind at ease. My charger has gotten so hot that I’m pretty sure it may burn sensitive areas of skin if touched for too long on the sides. It’s a little too far on the hot side for me to be comfortable leaving it charging without keeping an eye on it.
While I love the idea of USB-C charging, currently I use my port for other purposes. I have looked at hubs, but some quality control issues have steered me away for the time being. My hope is that the products will become a bit more refined when I finally order one.
February 1, 2017 at 7:29 pm #61405Have a link of a quality dc warm, which is worth to the tablet?
February 1, 2017 at 8:14 pm #61408I think I’ll buy the Anker charger as well from eBay, I couldn’t find any type C charger in local stores only in online marketplaces with absurd prices, local stores here only sell the cables.
