Does the digitizer look identical to the one you removed? It’s just that Chuwi use at least 3 different versions.

It could be that you’ve either got the wrong screen, what you were sent is defective or you need to use some compressed air on the ribbon connector.

You shouldn’t need to revert to an old version because you can update the SU binary directly from Android.

Just so you’re aware, my version of Xposed doesn’t need you to enter any special commands and it improves scrolling through modules.

You’re using the same MYI2C, BMA2x2 and Broadcom drivers as me.

For me the V200 driver does work as long as I replace the 43430r0nvram.txt file and then reboot. I didn’t stick with it though because the 1.478.0.0 works without replacing the file and the only issue I’ve come across is that when I boot sometimes the driver isn’t initialized correctly.

You shouldn’t of ever changed your BIOS, so there’s no reason for that to be at fault.

You could use the reset option within Windows 10 and hope that that’ll clean things up.

There’s a newer driver that Windows will download if it found an issue with the old one, but the newer one doesn’t work with the Vi10.

I use the 12.35.45.875 BMA2x2 driver dated 18/07/2014 on my Vi10 Pro (221511). I remember needing to reboot after installing the driver.

    @Jonathan
You’re actually on the right track. Secure boot may be an issue here.

If Javier can boot to or install Windows then he could just use the 221511 flasher that I released before.

It could be that Javier’s flashed the wrong Android image, since they’re version specific. It’s either that or he’s using the completely wrong BIOS version.

    Vi10 Pro 221511 BIOS: https://mega.nz/#!wBZmFDCT!P2Ss3pyWggPlzPNjk6lRcMNtltJYrURofQQ_yTd4zm8

    1. Format a USB drive as FAT32 and extract the contents to the USB
    2. Plug the USB drive and USB keyboard into your tablet
    3. Tap ESC as you power on your tablet to boot to your BIOS’s boot manager
    4. Select the EFI USB device

Everythings automated so the tablet will reboot when it’s done.

I don’t know if 221510 uses the same touch screen as the 221511. I installed the driver like this though and it worked perfectly.

The 1.478.0.0 WiFi driver can be downloaded from here. There’s also a 1.496.0.0 version (V200) that requires you to also copy 43430r0nvram.txt to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ and then reboot. I suggest you backup the original file if you try it.

I believe you need to extract the files to a FAT32 USB, boot to the BIOS and then select to boot the EFI USB device.

I don’t know if it’s then automated or if you need to access “cd /scripts/” and run “main.cmd”.

It’s probably easier just to install the drivers.

Hey, thanks for a copy of the source. It actually looks good! I guess it’s just a matter of mapping settings out for each BIOS, although Huy Nguyen got lucky and was able to use the fix on his 221506 Vi10 Pro. Maybe resetting to defaults would be advised?

The Vi10 BIOS versions that I know of are as follows.

BIOS: J1D_S165C_206 (used in the 221511 revision)
    BIOS date: 10/30/2015
    MD5: d1138265c8e2825ddcf70b2e7dae2487

BIOS: J1D_S165C_206 (used in the 221509 and 221510 revisions)
    BIOS date: 09/21/2015
    MD5: e1f93389808e45ae375be9f9d0b8030f

BIOS: G1D_S165_206 (an update for users with G1D_S165_205)
    MD5: 3fbb11ac7d77fd81305bc65c88ad414a

    BIOS: G1D_S165_205
    MD5: 8706eb20323936956fd9932bf238b5b6

    BIOS: G1D_S165_205 (2215040001 – 2215041000)

A custom update.zip sounds like it’d be the most ideal way as we’ve got TWRP and temporary CWM solutions. Have you tried signing the zip from Android itself?

    Damn, I have the 221506.

I just looked around for the 221506 BIOS, but I can’t find it anywhere online. You’re really lucky that the 221511 fix also works for your version 🙂

You should boot to your BIOS and select to restore the defaults, just to be sure that everythings back to how it should be.

Flashing either a Windows or Android ROM won’t reset the BIOS. You’ll need to follow these instructions.

The fix only applies to the 221511 revision of the Chuwi Vi10 Pro.

@ImADev, thanks for the info. I have a hacked together utility that will get the job done from either Android directly if root is available or through the TWRP system I’ve used before. I’m going to package this up now. I’ll let you have the source if you want but I need to improve it a lot before making it public ?

Sure, I’d like to take a look at it.

Just so you’re aware, there’s two versions of the J1D_S165C_206 BIOS.

BIOS: J1D_S165C_206 (used in the 221511 revision)
    BIOS date: 10/30/2015
    MD5: d1138265c8e2825ddcf70b2e7dae2487

BIOS: J1D_S165C_206 (used in the 221509 and 221510 revisions)
    BIOS date: 09/21/2015

This is a solution for the Vi8 using a rom. I don’t know how to adapt this to the Vi10

That’s similar to my solution for the Vi10 Pro, but it requires a working touchscreen or for you to own the Vi10 keyboard.

If you’ve got a Vi10 Pro with the build 221511 (bottom left of the tablet) then you’re in the same situation as this guy and there might be a fix for you soon.

    @jonathan
I believe he’s got a 64GB Vi10 Pro. It’s got the same build number as my own, so my TWRP image will work for him.

His exact BIOS file can be found here.
