I’ve sorted it now by removing the Sandisk 32GB micro SD card and replacing it with a Kingston 32GB micro SD card. I have no idea why the 2nd one works and the 1st one didn’t but there you go – something to try for those who haven’t already done so.

I didn’t do anything in the BIOS or update any drivers or anything and this is an X80 Pro tablet (delivered a couple of weeks ago from Geekbuying) I bought for my OH for Christmas.

I will (at last) be able to update the flipping thing and wrap it 😀

Go to Control panel , right click on the firmware icon and choose update device. Select automatic update using internet option , it should starts to download version 3.06. Once updated, reboot and wait for the system to apply the new firmware. You should be able to see that SD card can now be read in the file explorer. You must be sure that you have at least 80% of the battery juice before you update.

Can you please post a screenshot of the firmware icon in the Control Panel?

IDK what you’re referring to and have never seen this.

    Thanks

But when I try to update the drivers, I get a message from Windows that it already has the most up-to-date driver installed?

Can you (or anyone) please share the method, step by step, of how to install these or any other drivers?

    Thanks

DFX works really well – I installed it the first day I got mine.

Has anyone got any ideas re what would help with android though?

Did you install TWRP? If yes, boot into recovery and select Wipe Data/Factory Reset then go into Advanced and select Wipe Dalvik Cache – that should get you out of bootloops in android.

Regarding Windows, I would reinstall it because it sounds as though it’s completely messed up.

You should find the f/w in the Downloads section.

Each OS is completely separate and independent of the other so what you do in one will not affect the other side.

However, in my experience of these Intel dual OS tablets, Windows does not respond well to being reset/restored – in fact, in every case I know of, the person who attempted to (including me) had to reinstall Windows completely after trying.

You can restore android easily and without any issue, in the normal manner.

They certainly did – I saw that on their website last night, fully supported. Gives me hope for our version and to that end, I emailed them too.

No joy whatsoever from Teclast, as you predicted – screenie attached.

I’ll give Viper a go. Hadn’t done so thus far as I thought you had to have Xposed installed to use it? Will read your link Karl0ss – thanks.

I emailed Teclast after sales about it – I’ll post their reply when I receive it.

How do you know who made those roms?

I don’t really GAF which version it is – I’m hoping the volume issue is improved like it was when I flashed it in my Onda V919

I can’t believe the volume is so bad in android – I’ve got a crappy iPhoney 6 that cost about £40 that has much better sound quality.

I did see that thread Karl0ss but I was more hoping that someone might have info on a Teclast Remix rom for the X98 Pro like there is for the X98 Air 3g/II in the link I posted.

I’m not really interested in any boot from USB stick options, only a rom to flash on the android side.

    Thanks anyway

Windows went bonkers on my old dual boot tablet too when I did a reset/restore – no idea why but I cured the problem by doing a reinstallation.

Pain in the neck but 100% effective.

Isn’t there a copy in the downloads section?

Or the pinned thread on this board containing the original f/w?

Have you actually looked before asking?

Sorry guys I’m answering so rare but I’m working hard lately on the new roms for x98 pro / air 2/ 3g etc …. I also was moving to the new apartament , was sick at the same time … to much to say anyway :):)

Hiya Mirek!! Great to hear from you and to know that you’re still supporting this tablet with your brilliant work 🙂

I’d love to try Remix on this tablet and was wondering if your flash tool would work if I loaded the remix system.img file from the Teclast X98 Air Remix rom.

What do you think? Thanks fella 😀
