Its not a bios issue. I faced the same problem and have solved mine. What you need to do is to open up the tablet. On the main board, there is an EMI shield that doubles as a heatsink. Ensure that the metal piece is fully in contact with the 2 thermal pads below, one on the Intel SoC and the other on the power management chip. Note that there are quite a few pieces of tiny clips around the perimeter of this EMI shield. The shield edges have to be inserted in between these clips all around, and the bottom edge of the shield should be flush against the PCA. Then make sure that the large grey thermal pads are in contact with both the EMI shield, and the back metal cover. It is this PM chip that is overheating and cutting off power to everything. It is also the reason why plugged in it doesn’t shut off as the PM chip isn’t working when its plugged in. Once that is done, your problem will be solved. Hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing the tip, but how do i open my tablet? it’s too much ask you to make a video on youtube?

I just started android for the first time on one of my hibook, and downloaded the lastest chuwi update I think it was (maybe it was some other kind of update), It was 105mb big. After I downloaded and clicked update, the hibook restarted, but nothing happend after that, it was just stuck at a black screen. I powered the tablet off and restarted it and clicked on the android boot icon, but now it is just stuck at the “Intel Inside” menu. Windows 10 still works though. I tried to enter into Android inside windows 10, but it doesnt help either. Anyone know how to solve this problem?

Can you tell me your android version? I received mine today but i cant see any update, plus someone have instruction to flash the new bios and how can i see if mine already have latest bios?

Hi Daniel, Comparing it to my HTC 9 mobile phone, from 10 meters away from my router in my lounge there are 2 brick walls mind you, the signal between my phone and the tablet is about 1 bar less in Android and 2 bars less in Windows 10. It is fine to use 10 meters away, however when I go further in my garden say 25 to 30 meters away, I am still getting a signal with my phone and can still get online etc… where I can not get anything on the Chuwi Hibook, so it’s not completly dire. Audio is loud enough to watch a movie or listen to music however the sound quality is not as good as my HTC 9, but the HTC 9 is known to have great audio for a small device. If you have bought a Chuwi Hibook, I am sure you’ll be satisfied with the quality vs the price.

Ty, yes i bought it 2 days ago but gearbest asked me to verify document so i hope they will ship it fast… anyway try to update to latest bios and see how wi fi goes you can find it there http://forum.chuwi.com/thread-1210-1-1.html (hope i do not break rules with that link)

I have the second unit same issue. The ports on the keyboard will not power my Toshiba 2.5″ HDD. But it seems the USB type-C with an adaptor will, but only USB 2 mode (white light) My guess is the type-c also runs at USB 2 speeds like the Hi8 Pro and Vi8 Plus. @nbat58 Yes, Wifi signal is poor and weaker than my iwork10 Ultimate. The ultimate has its aerial behind plastic for good signal strength, but the Chuwi uses metal all around. That and the better screen (less air gap) and active pen support, I can already see the Cube iwork10 Ultimate is the better machine, despite the speaker placement and slower charging. 5volt 2.5A on the Cube. 5v 3A on the Chuwi via type-c.

Ah bummer, the Hibook is a lot cheaper (188 dollars with keyboard vs 217 dollars with keyboard) but oh well, good to know. Means I’ll focus on getting the Cube

Hi Chris since both are at the same price on gearbest for next 7 hours http://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/pp_325534.html i need to choose one of them! Could you please tell which is better cube flagship or this chuwi hibook and why? What about speakers on both for watching films? Thank you if you can answer me before the deals ends

You’re in luck! It’s still on sale for the exact same price for the next few days

I had bad experience with the cube iwork8 ultimate so I bought the hibook mainly cuz Chris said speakers are better hope I did the best choice and that the wi fi signal will not be that low to convert in a problem..

While I don’t have mine yet, I saw a video review on Amazon from a guy who has been doing video editing on it. I would go check it out. It shouldn’t have problems running Photoshop, just slower than a full sized/powered computer. Of course. It’s crazy that a tablet can be so powerful these days. When I get mine I will write up my impressions and do some tests.

Thanks for the answer but i should decide before the deals on gearbest finish!!

Issue is almost certainly the version of Windows on the pen drive. Had same issue if it is a 64 bit version you are trying to use it won’t detect it.

It’s the official 64 bit that comes from the dualboot official files… which one should i use§?

Same problem guys italian here too, im unable to restore , boot from a pendrive from the bios doesn’t work too so can’t restore it
