This issue seems to have been resolved. I’ve updated to the 5th version and now the fingerprint issue is non existent. Also, the update to the bios also resolved an issue where the screen would lower brightness on dark screens, and increase the brightness on lighter ones. This wasn’t with Windows OS brightness settings, it must have been something to do with the panel itself. Either way, this doesn’t occur anymore, anyone who has had either of these issues or anything similar should update their xiaomi notebook pro to the 5th bios version. The files can be found on Techtablets and the tutorial to install it can be found on YouTube. Many thanks.

I have the same issue. Did a clean install of Win 10 and the fingerprint only work the same day I set it up. The next day its not working and I have to set it up again. My computer came with the XMAKB5R0P0502 bios version which I suppose you mean you upgraded to?

Edit: Seems like I had the wrong angle when trying to unlock. Think its works like it should.

I got my new power supply but I still have that static feeling. Does anybody know if there is anything I could do to get rid of it? Dont know how to “troubleshoot” the issue.

Can you check if the keyboard is working properly? I bought mine in spring and the spacebar and other wider keys don’t register soft hits. For example if I press the spacebar on the lower right corner slowly, it won’t register even though the entire space is at its mechanical stop position. Do you have any clouding? My display has some on the lower left, it’s kind of annoying when watching movies with high aspect ratios… Lastly, do you hear a slight hissing sound from the area where you plug your power adapter? It’s only noticable when it’s absolutely quite. The display noise at <40% brightness is much louder…

I have no issues with the keyboard.
With clouding, do you mean like bleeding? If so, a little which can be seen when the screen is black. But its not so much so its disturbing. No hissing.

I solved it by typing exit into EFI Shell and could then jump into EFI settings where I selected my USB Stick with the Windows installation files. I then deleted ALL partitions on my ssd and emmc and installed Windows on my SSD. The setup automatically created a few partitons on my SSD including the 499 MB system partition. The thing is, when you install Windows on your ssd with your already existing system Partition on your emmc, setup doesnt create an extra system partition on your SSD automatically. So your unable to Boot, if you wipe your emmc. If Windows setup doesnt recognize a system partition your emmc, it’ll create a new one if you Install Windows on your ssd. So make sure to delete it first.

Ok, so deleting both the EMMC drive and SSD drive during the Win 10 installation to the SSD solves the problem? Thanks for the information.

There is nothing wrong with the laptop or with the charger the reason it does this is because it only has two prongs that go into the wall which means it isn’t earthed its not faulty that’s just how a lot of chargers are made it wont damage the laptop so there’s nothing to worry about but if you want a charger that won’t do that buy one with three prongs on the charger part that goes into the wall socket as two of the prongs are for the ac input and the third is earth. Replacement Charger

Both my Macbook 12″ and my Lenovo had only two prongs and no static feeling whatsoever. Gonna need a longer cord so thanks for the url.

I got my V4 yesterday. Bought it from Lightinthehouse, fairly quick shipping. Ordered the 128 GB version so the EMMC is no name disk and then there is a Foresee 64 GB SSD mounted. I sold my Macbook 12″ last week because I dont really use it. Had 40 charging cycles in one year. But I still need a smaller laptop from time to time. After reading and watched Chris reviews I found the 3 Pro version interesting. When I picked it out of the box yesterday I was “Wow”. Its not a Macbook and I hadnt expected one. But my Macbook was 6-7 times more expensive than the 3 Pro and honestly, the Macbook doesnt feel like its worth the difference.

The build quality is very good, I like the keyboard, the touchpad is good, the screen is nice. The wifi is super. The only thing to complain about at the moment is that theres a static charge feeling when the charger is connected. Maybe another charger would help.

The first thing I did was to do a fresh install of Win 10 on the SSD. The installation was quite easy, some drivers were missing in the device manager so I picked them from the EMMC disk. (then I went ahead and formated the EMMC which was a very bad idea and I had to start over)
I also ordered some stickers for my keyboard since we have some special characters here in Scandinavia 😉

Of course its a little bit to early to say how good it really is. But the first impression is solid.

I got my V4 yesterday and also have this static charge feeling. I would gladly buy another power adapter if I would know what to get.

I had the same issue yesterday. Picked up my v4 version from the post office, got home, happily installed Win 10 on the SSD and then decided to delete everything on the EMMC. Felt like a good idea to get some more space! Well ended up in the EFI Shell after the next boot. I couldnt see any hard drives in the BIOS boot order so I tried changing some BIOS settings for the SSD. That made things worse and bricked the BIOS. So I thought I had wasted the computer. But I found a thread here suggesting disconnecting the battery. I did that, waited a minute, reconnected and then I could access the BIOS again. And after that I could boot from my Win 10 installation usb. I reinstalled win 10 at the EMMC and then also reinstalled the SSD.

Can you boot from a usb with the Win 10 installation media?
