I did remove the default screen protector (use a hairdryer to heat it up, cause it’s very firmly attached) and then applied a better one which i bought a t gearbest.
so it‘s possible and not that hard after you apllied some heat to the preapplied one.
August 29, 2017 at 10:01 pm #71164Phoenix OS works Quote well, most problems were sorted out in the last updates. Especially the annoying disabled wifi after sleep is fixed.
I use the mix plus with windows for work and DualBoot with Phoenix as a gaming tablet since quite some time now.
August 6, 2017 at 6:20 pm #70201You might want to look at this post:
July 7, 2017 at 7:48 pm #68866On another front: is there any possibility to speed up MacOS X in a VM? Especially 2D-acceleration? I now have a VM with High Sierra running on VirtualBox on the mix plus and Screen-updates are slow; the rest isn´t really fast, either, but acceptable.
Now using VMWare for the MacOS Virtual Machine – this does work better / faster than VirtualBox. Still no gfx-acceleration.
July 5, 2017 at 7:03 am #68751OS X always was very hardware dependent. Still, I had good experiences earlier with hackintoshes using kinda standard hardware (which all those kaby lake Tablets / notebooks have, except for special things like camera, touchscreen) with custom EFIs and a few custom drivers.
Unfortunately I´m out of this area since quite some time and fear that i don´t have the time to do this myself now.

July 4, 2017 at 7:29 pm #68741Any news on this front?
I´d like to see MacOS X on the MixPlus..
July 2, 2017 at 10:27 am #68672Yes, this is the sole fault of the respective program/app that still doesn´t have resolution sensitive UI. Thus this problem occurs on any PC with Windows 7 and up. And such a thing in 2017 – but it fits to steam, which is really a piece of crap…
So you should list up all the apps where the problem occurs and complain to the respective developper. There´sabsolutely NO EXCUSE for this. We´re not writing the year 1997 anymore…
June 14, 2017 at 4:49 pm #68164I think any Type C to HDMI Adapter or cable will do the Job. I use this one : https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01N7RH2CQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 no Problems whatsoever, neither with TVs, nor Computer Monitors. And yes, Audio over HDMI is supported.
I can only repeat my above recommendation. I´m using this USB-C to HDMI cablequite often with the CubeMixPlus e.g. for viewing SkyGo on the bis TV (stupid enough the iOS app doesn´t allow this on the iPad) or if the kids want to watch a movie.
Just had this cable with me on a vacation and was very glad I had it with me since the satellite TV was not working – so I could compensate this with hooking up the CM+ to the TV and using zattoo (television over Internet).
May 27, 2017 at 8:29 am #67470This is not normal behaviour. I often have a BT-keyboard and mouse connected to the tablet which is hooked to the TV via HDMI and can control the tablet from the couch.
Have you tried other devices? Any USB3 devices connected? I´ve had problems with USB3 and WLAN/BT earlier on Intel chipsets (mac mini), but have not encountered this with the mix plus – still this most likely can vary with different devices.
May 25, 2017 at 4:13 pm #67424Well then that doesn´t sound too good. Hope that it´s not a defect hardware…
May 24, 2017 at 4:46 pm #67396I updated the preinstalled Windows via Windows update. The clean install was too much hassle for me, especially since everything works as it should.
So I just enabled the update service and since then had no problem (and there were quite some updates since then).
Who said the thing with the BIOS being possibly cleared (sounds scary)? Someone from Cube?? Or just some salesman?
May 24, 2017 at 4:40 pm #67395With the default driver or did you already update it?
I have driver version 21.20.16.4534 which works well.
May 23, 2017 at 9:36 pm #67365I have enabled the Update service and am running on 1703 “Creators Update” without problems.
Anyway it^s still a good idea to backup the drivers just in case..
P.S.: what the seller said is kinda stupid, cause on a not uptodate Windows you don´t get security patches and thus are prone to get malware and the like. A windows-PC that is connected to the internet definitely should have the latest updates!
May 19, 2017 at 8:02 pm #67239I sorted the Resolution issue in PhoenixOS – this was due to a manual dpi setting. But with the higher resolution, of course, the Performance is lower. Still the tablet does not get that hot as it does in AmiDuOS in 3D apps, so i´ll keep Phoenix as dual boot on the tablet.
For the occasional use of Android i´ll Keep using AmiDuOS just for the convenience not having to reboot.
May 19, 2017 at 4:50 pm #67237The OS normally already is activated. You can check this with right-clicking on the “This PC” Icon on the Desktop and select “properties”.
In the following window scroll down and there it should say “Windows is activated” (it does on mine).
The Windows-update Service is deliberately shut down by Cube (most likely because theyre not willing to provide Support if an update breaks something). It`s easy to start this in Settings/Control Panel/adminstrative Tools/Services. There search for the Windows update Service and set it to automatic or Manual.
