It finally worked!
The truck was simply trying another PC! It seems that the main PC I used had the USB drivers messed up due to the various trials.
I used the flashing software provided in the alldocube page, the latest December firmware. The only difference from the normal flashing process was plugging in the battery pins while pressing the VOLUME Down button.
Now I have the latest firmware version too. SIM is working fine too.
Thanks for the help and convincing me to keep trying!!
December 15, 2020 at 6:32 am #220702I think I did everything starting with the Alldocube site : https://www.alldocube.com/en/firmware/alldocube-iplay20t1011s-firmware-download/
I see
So basically you did the normal upgrade procedure with same flash software and firmware, with the only difference of connecting the battery plug to the motherboard while pressing the volume down button?
Did you change any option in the flashing software as instructed in the video?
For now the tablet isn’t giving any signs of life.
December 14, 2020 at 7:51 pm #220699This unbricking process is driving me crazy.
SPUpgrade_v2.9.3 isn’t accepting alldocube firmwares
Where did you download SP Flash_Tool_v5.20 from??
December 14, 2020 at 11:07 am #220694So I should use the latest november version for the unbricking process itself? I thought I should use the one provided in the YT video.
Which specific flashing software version did you use for unbricking that can read the alldocube firmware files?
Thanks again
December 14, 2020 at 6:45 am #220689I used the August version but I think there is now a November update.
Did you use the AUGUST version for ubricking?
I used the same exact upgrade software version as in the video tutorial, and for some reason it doesn’t recognize any alldocube firmware.
December 13, 2020 at 8:56 pm #220687I don’t know why I decided to upgrade to the latest frimware from the original June one, and the process stopped in the middle and the tablet is bricked 🙁
I wanted to ask which firmware I should chose? The one in the YT tutorial or the original one from june 2020?
I hope I’ll be able to fix it….
September 15, 2020 at 6:57 am #183941Hi all, Believe it or not, I actually got a response from Cube/Alldocube’s tech support team about this, and the situation at the moment is that they recommend just using a basic capacitive stylus, which will work for simple jobs like writing. I ordered the Universal Capacitive Stylus from AliExpress but it hasn’t arrived yet. I will give you all an update once it arrives. But the tablet won’t support advanced stylus features, like the button on the S-Pen, or variable pressure lines, so no good for digital art or anything like that. But it shows that they are listening to their customers, and even reading forums like this, so you never know, they may decide to improve the firmware and provide better support for the stylus down the track? Cheers, Terry
As I mentioned in my previous post, I already tried a simple capacitive pen, without much success. You can also check the youtube video I posted.
Advanced pen support like Spen on Samsung devices requires different hardware, no way we will ever have that on a budget laptop. My hope is that a firmware update will improve capacitive pen response making it at least usable.
Please update us if you find any pen worth using. I’m interested in simple PDF marking and highlighting, nothing fancy.
September 13, 2020 at 9:03 am #183926I received my iplay20 HD about two weeks ago, so far I really like. One of the main uses is to read e-books and PDF files (scientific articles).
Unfortunately this tablet doesn’t seem to support any stylus pen support. Surely there no active pen support at all, but I was hoping that a simple stylus pen would be usable for highlighting text in PDF files. But it doesn’t.
I removed the screen protector that came with, and noticed a slight improvement in pen reaction, but it’s far from being usable.
There’s a video of a user using a stylus pen (baseus 2in1) with some minimal response, you can check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCKF29s7NMw
It’s a pity since it’s a very nice fully-laminated screen, so I was hoping for some minimal pen support. Art work and drawing is surely not possible.
Maybe a firmware upgrade will improve this? I’m still on June firmware, still reluctant to try the manual update process.
Keep us posted if you find any working solution,
October 17, 2016 at 10:57 am #55049It turned out that my device Lenovo miix 700 had already a touch enabled BIOS which is very handy!
I can also boot into BIOS when it’s turned off by pressing the volume up+power buttons together, without the need to boot into Windows first
I didn’t look for an alternative since then
January 14, 2016 at 8:06 pm #22350FINALLY, after more than 2 months of wait from the 11.11 sale, I received my tablet! I also had to pay around 90$ of custom taxes!
I ordered the tablet with keyboard and pen, but guess what – the pen box was there but EMPTY!
This has been the worst purchase on Aliexpress so far. Let’s see what they say regarding refunds.
January 6, 2016 at 3:30 pm #21395Am I the only one who didn’t receive the tablet yet from the 11.11 sale?? The seller is Shenzen Ele technology.
I already escalated the case, still no response from aliexpress, as if they are also ignoring the issue… Truly unacceptable
December 27, 2015 at 7:49 pm #20103you will get whatever money you ask for refund. leave it as is. dont talk. i think something not right with seller. escalate to Ali is after they reject. if you dont want to renegotiate. I have done that, for a serious bad item Buyer dispute – seller reject – Buyer redispute – seller reject – escalate – Aliexpress approve my evidence – full refund
A few hours before time ran out, the seller didn’t accept the dispute, with the excuse that in some countries there were logistic problems, so shipping times from 11.11 sale are taking more time, and asking me to cancel dispute and wait patiently.
They’re even attaching a statement from Aliexpress, obviously in chinese (!!), to prove that.
Such a pity I paid so much for EMS shipping and still no signs it’s being shipped.
I’m thinking of escalating the dispute and ask for full refund.
December 23, 2015 at 9:05 pm #19730Definitely open a dispute.
I opened a dispute, and the seller hasn’t approved it yet! In fact, he stopped replying to messages.
In the dispute page, there are 2 days left for the seller to respond. If they don’t, the dispute will be closed in my proposal.
What dos that mean? I’m trying to escalate the dispute to Aliexpress but can’t find the escalate button
December 19, 2015 at 3:07 pm #19207Am I the only one left with product not shipped from the 11.11 sale?
I think it’s ridiculous I paid so much for shipping through EMS and still no signs it is being delivered anytime soon
Should I open a dispute through Aliexpress??
December 14, 2015 at 1:40 pm #18574@Joe
As advised, I extended the time avaliable for dispute for 10 more days.
Let’s hope I get it as soon as possible and with everything included
