Max of about 74 deg C under load sounds about right. Idle temps should decrease as well. Seems like things are looking just fine, great to hear that you’ve gotten everything sorted out.
August 17, 2018 at 2:53 pm #145621Getting in for the 1st time is a pain. It gets easier for subsequent attempts. (That’s what she said… 😉 LOL!)
Start from the back where the hinge is. Remember to remove the 1 screw that’s hidden under the top centre rubber foot near the hinge. There are clips all around the edges of the bottom and if I remember correctly, 2 in the middle (just south of the air inlet). It does take some force to pop the clips out for the 1st time. Don’t worry, you won’t screw up the cover that easily, you’re more likely to break your picks and pry tools. Plastic will bend/break long before the metal cover does. Just follow the Chris’ video or any other disassembly video on youtube. Best advice is to have lots of spare picks (you can use the spares as wedges once you pop the clips) and to take your time if you’ve never attempted this before.
Depending on ambient temps it’s usually about 35-42 deg C doing nothing on idle, give or take a couple of deg C.
August 16, 2018 at 3:18 pm #145599Max temps on mine never get above 70-ish, even under heavy loads/gaming. Honestly, most of the factory-applied thermal paste is pretty rubbish and you’re better off applying your own thermal paste anyway. If I had to guess, I’d say it’s probably a combination of dust and crappy thermal paste. I bought mine early last Dec and when I did the re-paste a few months later the factory paste was already drying out.
This laptop has a pretty efficient cooling and any decent thermal paste, like MX-4, that’s properly applied should do just fine. I just happen to have some extra leftover Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut lying around from before. Btw, remember to clean out the dust bunnies that have taken residence in your laptop when doing the re-paste. You’ll be surprised just how much dust collects in a short span of time. Good luck!
August 15, 2018 at 10:33 am #145563Shouldn’t get up to those kinds of temperatures even under heavy load. Mine doesn’t, but then again I replace my thermal paste with some leftover Thermal Grizzly I had.
Replacing thermal paste will definitely help, though YMMV. While you’re at it you might want to check if the fans are working/spinning, clean out the dust bunnies in the air outlets/inlets and clean the fan blades as well. It could just be a simple case of dust bunnies obstructing the air inlets/outlets.
Good luck!
February 8, 2018 at 3:44 am #79121No issues with temp and battery drain when I was using it but I can’t check it out further as it’s now seconded “temporarily” to my S.O and she likes it too much to give it back, dang. LOL! But I guess it really depends on what you do.
I’d say go for the 256GB, they don’t cost a whole lot more and you get more bang for your buck in terms of speed and storage. My Kingspec 256GB on Crystal Mark 6.0, YMMV. Speeds would probably lower for the 128GB.

January 28, 2018 at 6:34 am #77844Hi,
If you’re still confused about doing a fresh install then have a read through this guide. It should pretty much walk you through it.

Hope this helps. 🙂
January 21, 2018 at 7:23 am #77419Before performing a clean install of Windows 10 on my EZbook 3 Pro, I backed up all drivers using Double Driver. I made note of my Windows 10 product key using ProduKey. I used the media creator tool from Microsoft to create a bootable USB for Windows 10. Changed boot order in the BIOS to boot from USB. I deleted all partitions during the set up of Windows 10 and let it do it’s thing. Restored drivers using Double Driver and downloaded the Intel driver assistant, checked for any updates, windows updates etc. If you need any help, please feel free to private message me.
Exactly what the man said… 🙂
January 21, 2018 at 7:10 am #77417Have the same problem Buy in January, bios version 5.12 from may 2017 ! ?? See the SSD onder security settings. Not in boot section
Actually, that’s DEC/5/17. I have the same bios. 🙂
January 21, 2018 at 7:04 am #77416Here’s mine, with a MyDigitalSSD superboot 2 in the M.2 slot. My before benchmarks were similar to some of the above.
I hope I have the same results, when I received my SSD from AliExpress.
I bought the same KingSpec 2242 256GB SSD from Aliexpress too. These are my Crystal Disk Mark 6 results

Based on informations from another thread, V4.5 Hardware or Bios is different and not compatible with V4 Bios and flashing may cause a Brick.
Here’s another one. My Bios dated 5/Dec/17 –Â Jumper10x.P8.WP3132.NHNAUHL01. Ordered from Geekbuying before X’mas. received about 2 weeks ago.
January 16, 2018 at 5:19 am #77044Not sure about Kingdian but I’m using KingSpec 256GBÂ and it works me.
January 14, 2018 at 8:00 pm #76950This is the way I did it. Kept it as simple as possible.
During installation of Windows choose custom option, delete all partitions from eMMC and SSD. Leave both unallocated and select SSD as the location for install windows. EFI and recovery partitions will automatically be installed on your SSD. The system should detect the boot manager and boot from your SSD. Thereafter, it’ll always boot from your SSD. After setup of Windows, you can then proceed to partition the unallocated space on the eMMC using disk management and install whatever necessary drivers/windows updates.
Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes. Cheers 🙂
January 14, 2018 at 2:30 am #76931I bought this one from AliExpress a few days ago. If you don’t want to pay taxes, just add a note to the order saying to declare less than 22€ (I’m from Italy and here we pay taxes if the value is more than 22€). P.S. if you buy it with the Android app you’ll get a small discount and pay it 34,06€
I’m using the 256GB version and it’s working fine. Bought it through the mobile app as well and mine was declared as a gift. Looks like we bought it from the same seller. Hope this SSD works out well for you.
Yeah, but I haven’t bought the EZBook yet
I’ll order it when the SSD is half way there since it take minimum 3 weeks for product from China to come to Italy. Maybe in the meantime Jumper might release a v6
And in a month or so the Gemini Lake will probably be out and we’ll all be tempted to buy it… LOL.  ?
January 14, 2018 at 2:27 am #76930…But my external SDD (M.2 in an external enclosure) works fine…
And which adapter M.2 NGFF (SATA) SSD To USB 3.0, what SSD did you use? How do you like this?
I’m using that exact same SSD enclosure. 🙂
