A few threads down is one about touchscreen issues after updating. Someone posted a touchscreen.gt file. Use that. I had the same exact issues and it fixed it.
August 12, 2016 at 3:30 pm #46534I’ve never had to recalibrate my touchscreen.
Definitely try that touchscreen.gt file. It helped big time for me and I’m on the anniversary update.
In your case, it sounds like a driver issue. Check to make sure you didn’t lose your driver in Device Manager -> Human Interface Devices -> Goodix Touch HD.
There is a x98 Windows Driver package floating around this forum somewhere. Sorry, I don’t know the exact thread but it wasn’t hard to find. Grab it and try and update that driver using the files in that package. Hopefully that will fix your issue.
If/when you do get it working again, download Double Driver and take a back up of all the 3rd party drivers on your tablet and save it. I keep a copy on the tablet and on a network share.
August 10, 2016 at 6:47 pm #46354Can anyone confirm if the BIOS fix for the A5C8 model fixed the SD card issue?
Also, does anyone know how to solve the issue of the bios updater complaining about “No Windows Key in BIOS”? I get that when trying to update.
May 25, 2016 at 8:27 pm #38592Anyone able to get VNC Viewer (or any VNC client app) to work with this ROM?
Works fine under Windows but not Android.
May 20, 2016 at 7:16 pm #38050I had to use Windows Media Creation Tool to download the latest install files onto a USB flash drive. You then upgrade using that.
Make sure you have 75% battery life or more before starting because it took a very long time for me (couple hours).
Though you might be able to use a microSD card instead if you need power at the same time.
After finishing run Disk Cleanup to free up some Windows Update disk usage.
May 19, 2016 at 9:39 pm #37974I actually reset Win10 and afterwards installed Win10 Pro. Why should that be an issue though?
How did you get the drivers reinstalled?
May 19, 2016 at 8:13 pm #37966My latency fluctuates between 30 to 200ms whereas I get <30ms on other WiFi devices. Sometimes the connection also just drops or timeouts.
Are you running the Win10 that came with the tablet? What model do you have? I noticed that Android seems snappier…but haven’t noticed any latency issues and I’ve never been dropped from my wifi that I can recall.
May 19, 2016 at 8:14 am #37899WiFi works fine for me under both OS.
I’m running the latest build of Win10 as well.
If it works under android it’s gotta be a driver or software issue.
What exactly are you experiencing?
May 18, 2016 at 5:16 pm #37847You’re not running any Bluetooth devices under Windows are you? A keyboard will affect WIFI performance…something like a mouse or a bluetooth speaker will kill your connection completely.
May 15, 2016 at 8:59 pm #37467Ok got this working in Android and there is a definite difference…at least in terms of max vol. Can’t really tell much about the sound quality but I can’t complain.
Anyone get Viper4Windows working on Win10? I installed and configured it. No errors but nothing has changed as far as I could tell.
May 14, 2016 at 9:43 pm #37332Viper4Android installation worked for me when using these instructions:
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66262822&postcount=16
Didn’t use the irs, though.
Thanks! This worked. Using mirek’s v3 ROM. Had to install Busy Box using TWRP method. Then used the apk in the first link (I had a different apk that wasn’t installing) and it installed fine.
Can’t really tell the difference using the stock speakers, but that’s probably just a limitation of speakers themselves. Going to try some nice headphones I have next chance I get.
May 14, 2016 at 8:07 pm #37321I tried using selinuxmodechanger to set to permissive and it completely hosed my OS. I had to rebuild from scratch.
May 14, 2016 at 6:31 pm #37317litte update, I got it working and it runs sweet. I’m starting to get an idea of how it works but its still a learning curve. This is what I did.
- Extract the zip from the first post on this thread to a folder.
- Install the intel flash tool light 5.5.2 from https://01.org/android-ia/downloads/intel-platform-flash-tool-lite
- Install Mireks ROM V3 but dont setup the tablet, just allow it to boot to the setup screen and leave it a second.
- Open the flash tool, click the browes button, navigate to the folder where you extracted the zip fie from setup 1. It should auto select the flash.json file. Make sure update is selected.
- Connect the tablet with USB to the computer and it should show it connected.
- Press the update button and the tool will reboot the device, flash the ROM and reboot the device again. Now you just need to leave it, mine took about 10 minutes to boot the first time.
That was it, once it booted and I did the setup it has been friggin brilliant. Smoother than Mireks ROM, really good battery life, especially on standby. You might see an android appear on the screen the first time it boots after the device has been flashed. Its the android with a spinning cube. Just leave it, Remix OS takes a while to get going but it will get going. Seems like Remix does not like a dirty flash so doing this means your user data has been cleared.
I followed these instructions exactly and was able to install Remix OS successfully. I think it’s important to make sure you don’t do anything except the bare minimum after first installing mirek’s ROM. The first time I tried it, I had already been using the tablet for a day or two…and the Remix OS hung up. I completely redid mirek v3, and then quickly did the Remix install and then it worked.
May 13, 2016 at 7:06 pm #37176Anyone get a successful flash but then just get the RemixOS start up logo after reboot? Been like that for probably 30 minutes now.
May 12, 2016 at 8:42 pm #37028Hi @all, the sound quality of our pad is in my eyes/ears
<noscript>
</noscript>very poor, missing bass and power makes listening of music a real disappointing experience. I tried a lot of equalizers, now, but none seems to really change anything, it looks like they are not able to configure the Intel HD chipset. Does anybody has a hint to solve this issue ? Thx VerdelerUse “Viper4Android” and you will be happy Don’t forget to use some “irs”…
How did you manage to get v4a installed? I’ve had no luck. When I try to install the apk I just get a parser error. Tried to set selinux mode to Permissive by using selinuxmodechanger and ended up breaking Android and had to reload the rom.
I am using mirek’s 5.1 v3 though.
