I used stock for about a week. There was no “auto brightness” setting. Understandable as the tablet does not have a light sensor.

Lux uses data from the camera to adjust the backlight. I did not see any difference in battery usage and it is considerably easier on the eyes.

I am using Lux. It can be configured to use the front camera as a light sensor and adjust the brightness dynamically.

Hi, I ordered the X98 Plus Dual from geekbuying on Jan 22nd and it is still in the status “processing”. Did anybody else order it from there? Cheers

I ordered on the 20th and they informed me it shipped on the 24th but the tracking they gave me just says “information received…” and shows no other movement, not even pick up.

    why not take one specifically for the Plus? option 1 – 12$ option 2 – 12$ option 3 – Original case with keyboard – 22$ option 4 – simple and cheap – 7$ I got for myself option 3 and 4.

The MCDODO looks very good, I ordered one. I couldn’t find it the last time I checked. Thanks!

The keyboard case looks bulky though and from what I see the keyboard is not attached in any to the case. I have a logitech k480 anyway so I don’t need anything extra.

I am also looking for a case and from what I  read, the plus has the same dimensions as the ipad air.  I am thinking of ordering something like this or this. This one also looks very good. Anyone tried something similar?

So, I already ordered my X98 plus dual, time for the accessories! I am a bit dissappointed by the quality and the design of the offered cases. From what I have red, it has the same dimensions with the ipad air. Has anyone tried it? I am thinking of ordering something like this or this. This one looks also very good.

….the newly released Teclast X98 Plus Dual OS (http://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/pp_286366.html) which will cost me 186,77 + 42,02 taxes = 228,79. I live in Europe, so import taxes are quite high

Most Chinese shops will report a lower value on the box in order to skip the import taxes. I think geekbuying and banggood do it anyway, in other stores you might have to request it.

I ordered a teclast pro for my sister a month ago from geekbuying. While it was still “in progress” she decided she wanted the Air II. They had no problem changing the order and they refunded the rest later the same day. I have also heard good things about banggood.

The cancelled my preorder, too. but in my case they refunded all the amount on paypal the next day. I will probably end up buying it from geekbuying.

From what I ‘ve seen in the forums, in order to boot properly you will need to disable secure boot by going to the bios.

A guy over at reddit created a EFI image. Anyone willing to try?

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2cSlWc2yl7ET3ZkRGNqVzJLdjA/view?usp=sharing

Created from the last official image that included Gapps. This is an EFI only system. Extract the contents of the REMIXDRIVE folder to a FAT32 formatted drive. Then select the drive at boot. Uses a 4GB data.img for persistence.

If you so choose you can copy the AndroidOS folder to a regular partition and use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824154 to create a bigger data.img. Then whenever you want to boot Remix you can just put in the flash drive and it will automatically find the AndroidOS folder on the root of an existing partition.

EDIT: This works on both 32bit EFI only systems like the Asus T100 or any EFI system that’s 64bit.

I think the current version (the one that leaked) is not compatible with the uefi bios that runs on most devices out there. Maybe they will release something different tomorrow.
