Unfortunately I don’t currently own a cube i9, I’m waiting for the stylus version to be released later in the year.
Bonnom kindly posted an image of the boot order on an i9, which shows that the SD card is indeed bootable.

Miguel, please post your findings if you decide to try an SD boot yourself, (for linux). I’m totally keen to see what sort of performance can be achieved running a full install of ubuntu (or other distros) from SD.

Sorry i haven’t had that problem. I did need to run double driver twice in order to get my Bluetooth work, so it could be the same with the accelerometer .

Good luck, and let know if you have any success getting it to work

Could I also ask if folks can recommend a more accurate battery meter/monitor for windows 10, the charge times reported by windows are always way off for me. (currently at 67% and claims 4hr 47mins til full battery, however, this is never the case)

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

Ah I’ve been using a galaxy note charger the past few days and the improvements haven’t been that great, so I guess I’m limited to my current charging speed.

More than likely just in my head then about the battery drain when powered off I guess lol, however, I definitely get slower charging speeds powered on than with the tablet powered off. I get roughly 3-4 hours for a full charge when powered off, and if I charge while it’s in use (In windows – 25%brightness – casual internet browsing etc…) it takes about 5-6 hours for a full charge.

I don’t have Android installed on my device, so I can’t realy add any input on how the battery on my device handles it.

I’ve noticed that the tablet charges a bit faster (powered off) when it’s not docked, than if I leave it docked.

Sort of a bummer, as I normally leave it docked when it’s not in use, and the USB hub being a constant drain on the power even if the device is powered off is a bit of an inconvenience.

On the topic of charging, could anyone recommend a more efficient charger than the one that comes stock ? (or if the device will accept a higher rated charger) I love the tablet and the battery life I get, but the slow charging times are killing me .

It turns out that a quick search in either the forum or google would have given me the answer to the camera problem *face palms* lol.

For those who don’t know how to resolve it, just download the drivers from here and extract the files. Then find “ISP camera device” in device manager, click update drivers and point it at the folder you extracted the drivers to. reboot and you’re done.

Still kicking myself that a simple driver issue was giving me such grief, when the fix was simply to install the damn drivers in the first place.

Hope this is of help to folks

I’ve been meaning to test the speed of the port on mine, but still waiting for my OTG cable to arrive (The OTG adapter that came with my tablet was for micro USB 2 instead of USB 3)

Hope it is the correct speed, it would be a shame because overall it is quite a nice tablet.

I own the iwork10 ultimate, and i think it’s ace. solid keyboard dock, good build quality. HOWEVER, with the chuwi hi10 refresh/hibook anounced, it may be more worth while to wait.

I imagine sound quality on the hi10 will be better, due to speakers being on different sides of the tablet.

The speakers on the iwork10 are both on the same side and the sound quality isn’t that great, also charging the tablet does seem to take a while using the micro USB. other than that, i am realy enjoying the unit as a whole. As i say, very good build quality.

I’ve never used a hi10, but the refresh looks alot like more like the iwork10 than the previous (current) version + has 3g and USB type c

if its between the iwork10 and the chuwi hi10 (currently available), i would say to go for the iwork10.

I’ve got the tablet and keyboard on order right now and the main worry i had was in regard to the quality of the trackpad on the keyboard (supports gestures + physical click). This information has put my mind at ease, Cheers man.

I’ve been wondering about the trackpad as well, while I like the ability to use multi touch gestures, I hope that there is a physical click button.

I assume that it will be similar to the trackpad found on the surface pro 4, the problem is I’ve never used a surface before. I was wondering how it differs, in terms of feel, to the trackpad found on a MacBook ? (if anyone can compare the two)

As for typing, I sort of do wish that it was a transformer style keyboard as well, but if the i9 is compatible with the docking keyboard for the i7 stylus, then I would probably get both the type cover and a dock, so that I have a keyboard for on the go and also a dedicated keyboard for more type heavy work. although I imagine the i9 wouldn’t fit, due to it being a larger tablet.

regardless of either of these, the thing that still kills it for me is the lack of stylus support. I’m going to wait until they refresh the line.

I’m hoping that a core M tablet that hits all the criteria appears soon. My computer died on me recently so I feel like I am in some kind of replacement device purgatory. I am working from an Alienware laptop loaned to me by my brother, and it is the single most impractical computer that I have ever owned, it weighs a ton, is so loud (I can’t stress this enough) and I don’t need near the power of this thing.

I think they meant the surface style type cover shown here
