    See attachment!

The Chinese apparently are on holidays until 10th of October, so I guess help is limited before that date. But if attached driver also don’t work, I would probably recommend contacting Chuwi support or write the manufacturer(link = [email protected] )Shenzhen and tell them you have a new revision Chuwi Hi13 tablet model and need latest Goodix hid driver for windows 10 64 bit!

Anyways, this will be my last effort to help you, as I can’t think of anything else to look for. So best of luck and please update us, when/if you find the solution, so that others can be helped too!  😉

Ps: Also check for touch settings, that may be able to address your issue of up-side-down issue. It could perhaps be corrected by just changing a option!  😉

Update: Okay, LAST TRY….I found this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wb2YChNFrxM

Look in the comments section, where our “chief editor” Chris, actually is commenting on the issue and they talk about changing values or simply deleting the TouchSetting.gt file located in the windows/info folder. But you should first try the updated driver, then try this workaround with changing or even deleting(probably good idea to make a backup of the file first, if you choose to experiment with the values in) the TouchSetting file, if the new driver still does not make the touch screen work as intended…

Lenovo Goodix touch driver for Miix 310-10ICR = https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/dk/da/products/tablets/miix-series/miix-310-10icr/downloads/ds112809

I have seen somebody mentions this Yoga driver from Lenovo replaces the “standard” Goodix HID driver = https://support.lenovo.com/hu/da/downloads/ds119816

You can see the entire Goodix hid touch drivers catalog from Microsoft here = https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=Goodix+Touch+HID

And something that strikes me as a little “funny”, is that latest updated driver, does not have the highest driver version number…..maybe there is something to this?  You could try the latest released driver, titled v1.4.1011.1 (31-08-2017)

If we can find out who is the maker of accelerometer sensor and touchscreen, it would be much easier to find the correct driver….that was why I asked, if you could take a look in the device manager.

You could also try and do a driver scan with a software tool like this = https://www.iobit.com/en/driver-booster.php

Update: If you do give Driver Booster a try, after having just done it myself(14 drivers was updated), I thought I would give a heads-up and warn against letting it swap out the Intel signed CPU driver component for a ELAN SMBus signed driver. See attachment…but you can always go back into device manager afterwards and do a driver rollback on the devices that didn’t work with the updated driver(s) Driver Booster found(usually does not happen often in my experience, but once in awhile it happens).

Hmm….did you check everything worked before you did the formatting? What OS did you install instead? And why did you format?  🙂

But sounds a bit strange to me, that you should need “special” drivers because of a newer Hi13 revision model(granted you use same Windows version as the one pre-installed). If that was the case, I would also expect Chuwi to have released new drivers for such a model by now…..which they seem not to have done.

Could you perhaps show us how your device manager list looks like?  Specifically the devices listed under “Human interface devices”and “Sensor I/O” + “Sensors” are of interest. See attachments for an example!

Update: A guide on how to flash Windows 10 on the Hi13 = http://forum.chuwi.com/thread-3940-1-1.html

Is it the Kionix 3-axis accelerometer driver?

You can get the latest driver for that one here = http://www.kionix.com/downloads   And then select the KXTJ9-KXCJ9-KXTJ2 windows driver.

Haven´t looked into the touchscreen driver, but I would imagine you can find a driver for that one from the manufacturer too….

Update: I know you said you already tried the Chuwi panel driver, but I have noticed there was an updated Chuwi driver package, so I have now attached what I think is the panel driver, you can give a try….in case you haven´t already!

Update2: I have now also found a Goodix driver from Microsoft update(which seems to be a newer version), you can try!

Uuuhh, have you already tried using the Hi13 drivers from TechTablets download section?  I wouldn’t expect a new BIOS version to require swapping out all drivers. The hardware inside should be very close to identical, otherwise the “Hi13” name should also be changed!  🙂

im surprised you actually put faith in the warranty which your device has! especially with one of those manufacturers.

    Was that one for me?

If so, yes I have faith in the warranty. During the course of my life, I have bought hundreds of different digital devices and computer parts. And I have maybe had about 10 devices go bad on me within the warranty period. And in all cases, I got a warranty replacement or repair, at no extra charge. So, having personally never been rejected on a warranty claim, I have really no reason to not trust anybody. Having said that, I AM new to buying import Chinese electronics…

However, I obviously know what you mean, regarding sometimes dealing with RMA people, that tries to rub the fault on the customer. But in my case, being a geek and having a good general knowledge about electronics. This gives me an edge when it comes to dealing with those kind of people…..main reason being, I have already done my research before contacting RMA, so they can’t suggest(or imply) anything I haven’t already checked!   😉

There you are(see attachment)!  🙂   …I use latest Windows 10 version(v1703, CU) with all windows updates installed.

You probably haven’t done a system cleanup using windows 10 “disk cleanup”, am I right?(update: sorry I didn’t seem to notice you mentioned this in your post, but I wonder why it didn’t work?)   You can simply use the windows search and start typing “disk…” and the windows tool should show up automatically in search results!   😉

Another tool I can recommend for freeing up space and generally clean-up your PC/tablet from “internet leftovers”, is the free version of CCleaner = https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

No, I didn’t compare temperatures, I thought it was enough to share difference in experienced performance.

But I just did a complete playback(let the video run in 4k quality for the entire 5 minute duration) of the youtube video I linked to before, running it in firefox(which showed the lowest performance, that had some skipped frames). And I used max performance in the windows power saving profiles.

I have now attached idle temp. measurements before video playback and temperatures right after running the 4k video. The monitor app was running in the background the whole duration, so you get a min and max temp score. And as you can see, the max CPU core temp. I got was 68 degrees Celsius.

Hope this helps you with your “troubleshooting”!   😉

Sorry to hear about your bad experience doing business with Chuwi. Can only imagine the dissapointment you must have felt!  ;-(

However, I personally bought my Hi13 unit from Gearbest.com

So to clarify, for me and maybe others too, reading your warning. Are you claiming that Chuwi will not honor warranty claims under these warranty terms from the seller(in this case Gearbest)?:

    ————————————————————————————

    <h3 class=”tit”>One Year Repair Warranty</h3>
Unless otherwise noted on the product page, the default product warranty period is one year starting from the date you receive the goods, during which you are eligible for free repair. Any free repair needs to be confirmed with the manufacturer via Customer Service. Customers must pay the shipping fees for returning the item to GearBest , while we will cover the shipping fees to send the repaired item back to the customer. If the buyer has damaged/misused the item(s), it will not be eligible for free repair, however customers can return it to us at their own cost and pay a fee for the repair. Return shipping fees will be the customers responsibility in such cases.

    <h3 class=”tit”>Warranty Exemptions and Notes</h3>
    1. Natural product degradation through wear and tear, along with breakage/damage during use, is solely the customer’s responsibility and is not covered by our warranties.
    2. If the customer has damaged/misused the item(s), the product’s warranty is immediately rendered void. No compensation is available in such cases. However, customers are welcome to contact us to purchase a replacement or spare parts (if applicable). We will charge the original value of the components and a shipping fee to dispatch them.

<u>The customer voids the warranty if they:</u>
    – Flash the firmware of a device or root a device
    – Open the body in an attempt to fix the device
    – Modify, remove, customize, or swap parts of the product
    – Use the device in a way that it is not originally intended for
    – Continue to use the item once a fault occurs and causes more damage

    3. All returns must first be authorized by Gearbest’s Support Team prior to return. Please kindly refer to the following steps in ” How to a request warranty” below. For incomplete warranty requests, Gearbest reserves the right to refuse any compensation. If the customer has returned the package without prior authorization (RMA form), sends to the wrong address, returns an incorrect item, or submits an empty package, then again Gearbest reserves the right to refuse any compensation.

    4. All returns will be inspected by our technical team upon arrival. If the returned item cannot be repaired, GearBest will offer an alternative solution.

    <b>Special Notes:</b>
    1. The shipping fee for returning the product back to us will be paid by the customer and is non-refundable except for in 7 day DOA situations.
    2. During the return shipping, the customer is responsible for any and all customs charges, duties or tariffs during the items return to China. In these cases we will deduct the customs fees from your authorized refund amount.
    3. GearBest will by default resend the item to the customer via Flat Rate Shipping. If the customer wants to utilize a faster shipping method, the relevant shipping fee is applicable.
    4. In case of any misuse, any and all repairs, accessories and shipping fees, both ways, are fully the customer’s responsibility and are at their own expense.

    ————————————————————————————

Because if your not saying that, then it sounds more to me, like it was an issue that relates specifically to your business dealing with Chuwi and is not a more “general”dealer problem with Chuwi?  If it is, then you are correct and Chuwi should be ashamed of themselves. Well, if your story is correct, then I think they should start upgrading their quality control even further already.

And yes, price and quality balance is important. And hopefully Chuwi don’t start cutting too many corners….but as customer satisfaction is important to “survive”in the longer run, I feel Chuwi only will dig their own grave, if they start to “mistreat”the people that ultimately pays for their salaries!   😉

I am not an expert in this particular field, but the surface models would also be my best guess, for a alternative to a more “professional” dedicated digitizer unit. Have you even researched if these digitizers can be had for affordable prices used?

I own the Hi13 model and I agree that it is too slow(too much delay) and imprecise for more serious use, like advanced drawing or painting. The real issue, to my knowledge, is lack of processing power in the tablet units. So, the more CPU power, the better the stylus performance should be. The Intel Celeron CPU’s is great in terms of low prices and having it run with a passive/fan-less cooler solution, making the tablet 100% silent. Plus battery life is extended. But in terms of sheer performance, you want something more powerful. Intel i3 equivalent CPU or better I suspect.

    I did a test-run on my Hi13 using this youtube video = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNJdPyoqt8U

I ran it on Chrome, Firefox and Edge using the 4k/60 fps setting and only Firefox showed skipped frames during playback.

Make sure you have tried selecting max performance in the windows powersaving profiles. And also in the Intel graphics driver….if it still playbacks slow and the Hi13 get really hot, then perhaps it could be a problem with the cooler not working correct, if everything else works perfectly when the Hi13 is not taxed too hard.

    Lily> Hello again!  🙂

From the description, it sounds like the model you found should also work yes. However, I feel I should make a small word of precaution before buying. I personally don’t have great experience buying cheap unbranded electronic products, that claims to do it all for half the price and have a lot of grammatical errors(and technical ones too)in the products description.

I did some searching too and I can see what you meant, regarding it is not easy finding a seller that ships to Australia. But I did come across one seller and personally I would feel safer buying this product instead = https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/UL-Listed-5-20-3V-65W-USB-Type-C-Charger-Wall-Mount-for-Ultra-Pixel-2/714288_32832108789.html?spm=2114.12010612.0.0.64fbf71fNQAvJD(remember to select the AU plug)

Looks like a more professional and safe product to use, judged by the specification details. 2 years manufacturer warranty from a manufacturer that has been in the business for years also feels good….but the charger is more expensive, so if that is more of a concern to you, just give the one you found a try!  🙂

    Cheers mate!  😉

    USB-C port = Check

    PD support(profile 3) = Check

    12V – min. 2 amp(24W) = Check

    Seems fine!  😉

Sorry to hear about your dissapointing experience. You are not alone, having to figure out what charger is supported(thus this thread).

You need a USB-C charger that is supporting the PD(Power Delivery) standard and can output 12V and minimum 2 Amperes(supporting more amps, just means the charger gets less “overworked”). The one you bought is using Quick Charge…

You would need something like this instead(quick random model search) = https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-4-Port-Charger-Delivery/dp/B01MS9CTB7

Which has “only” 1 USB-C port and the rest is for your regular non-USB C devices. So more of a “universal” USB charger.
