Hello guys, I bought a dodocool model da66wus. It is not charging my tablet. Infact my tablet had a bit of charge. About 20 percent before plugging in the charger and now it wont power on at all. Please help. Did i brick the tablet??? https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01GVDVEMM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Just so you guys know. The reason i used the USB type-c charger is due to the fact that i lost the original one that came with the tablet. I do have an adaptor coming from Ali express which is the correct one but i think the USB type-c may have bricked my tablet. is that possible? for now i guess i would recommend you all stay away from this charger. unless i got a bad tablet. one never knows.
I skimmed the Amazon reviews and saw some reports of the included cable being bad. Have you tried using a different cable?
August 25, 2016 at 1:39 am #47850Thanks for taking the initiative to start this thread! While we’re at it, can we get a list of 12V mobile chargers and wall chargers that work as well? Is it true that the power source needs to be USB Power Delivery compatible? My Quick Charge 3.0 charger is certainly unable to charge the tablet.
August 4, 2016 at 11:42 am #45588Be careful what settings you change. When I changed my maximum processor state two weeks ago, I encountered issues with wake from sleep and extreme unresponsiveness of Bluetooth and the touch digitizer. Restoring the power options back to default when I upgraded to Redstone seems to have fixed those problems.
Note that there are also numerous power management settings in the BIOS that can be played around with.
August 4, 2016 at 9:59 am #45570For the issue with the touchscreen acting up at the bottom of the screen, I may have found an acceptable solution / workaround. I’ll post a new thread about it – it involves using a custom touch calibration grid.
August 4, 2016 at 9:57 am #45569Redstone runs like a champ for me, although it seems that video playback acceleration in web browsers has not been as smooth as before.
August 1, 2016 at 9:03 am #45251I’m running the Redstone RTM build and the issue is still present, although somewhat less noticeable. In any case, it looks like the bottom portion of the digitizer is either not well calibrated or has some hardware issues. Shenzhen Ele does not want to acknowledge it as a problem after seeing my latest video, but I will see what they can do.
More feedback on this would be appreciated. It would be helpful to know whether or not this issue is present by design.
July 31, 2016 at 4:43 am #45160We might be experiencing different issues. My touch issue only occurs with the bottom edge of the physical screen. The problem goes away if I rotate my taskbar to any other edge.
Also, I’ve noticed some issues with the digitizer not responding to touch intermittently and requiring multiple touches before it would register anything. It seems almost like a power management issue where the digitizer is sleeping. Not sure if this is a problem with Windows or not.
July 28, 2016 at 8:14 am #44811It would be helpful if Chris or other owners could let us know if they experience this issue as well.
July 28, 2016 at 12:57 am #44800Thanks I have same issue to, already did “Winodows reset” acording to Ele request but ofc it doesn’t solve anything. At moment they are asking me about visit in “local repair centre”… We will see how it will go. Edit: I’m playing now with Paint, and it look that I’m able to tap screen more than 100 times without any issues in it… This is strage, it should draw a line i think if swipe movement is detected… can you try on your device?
The issue is very apparent in Paint on my device. Same result as OneNote.
July 27, 2016 at 10:56 am #44684Any news from Ele in this matter? What they say ?
They asked for a second video, waiting to hear from them after they view it.
July 27, 2016 at 10:38 am #44679I think I had the exact same problem as you, but I was able to use the reset option from the install disc without having to load a separate driver. You should check if the SSD is enabled and detected in BIOS.
July 26, 2016 at 6:14 pm #44604My UP-810E stylus does not seem to scratch the factory applied screen protector. It has two side buttons and an eraser.
July 26, 2016 at 3:34 pm #44548I don’t know if it could be the reason but you have left the “marketing” plastic sheet on your screen (we can see the ads in the lower right corner when you flip the ablet). you can remove that, there is another screen protector below. Maybe it will fix your issue (even if I doubt it, but I have seen weirder things with computers …)
I removed the “marketing” plastic sheet and it’s still doing the exact same thing. This tablet is great, but I think this issue is a deal breaker for me. Hopefully I can get a replacement.
July 26, 2016 at 3:31 pm #44547Is there any reason not to just cut a hole in the stock piece of metal that covers the motherboard (the one with the yellow insulation on the underside). Then mount a 2mm (or whatever thickness will contact the large piece of copper on the cover) piece of copper over the cpu and reinstall the stock metal bit ?
You want the additional thermal mass of the metal plate to help dissipate the heat more effectively. It’s also doubtful you’ll find a shim with the exact thickness necessary to contact both the back of the case and the CPU/GPU precisely without necessitating using a thermal pad.
July 26, 2016 at 3:28 pm #44545There can be additional input lag if you use a Bluetooth mouse. That’s the real disadvantage between the two.
