screen rotation, WiFi, Bluetooth and battery indicator level are working
February 14, 2017 at 5:28 pm #62206I have used the latest Linuxium version for 2 weeks on my V300 Hi10 Tablet.
http://linuxiumcomau.blogspot.com/2017/01/bleeding-edge-ubuntu-4100-57-kernel.html
This is the first Linux distribution which works perfectly with the Intel Video driver where the screen rotation works perfectly out of the box!
Also out of the box perfectly are working the WiFI, Bluetooth and the BATTERY level indicator! š
Unfortunately the screen brightness, the touch screen and the audio aren’t working.October 8, 2016 at 1:59 pm #54493Congrats for the first success!!!
I would reflash few times with the CORRECT BIOS version for your Tablet hardware. As I remember when I fixed my Chuwi I have made few test flashing it with the dual boot BIOS version which is for the newer hardware than mine, then when I flashed with wrong BIOS image nothing happened after the flash the tablet was still dead, but after reflash with the correct BIOS image it was back to live.
I wish you LUCK man! š
August 12, 2016 at 4:20 am #46485- Be sure that the clip and the chip pins are contacting right and well
- change the USB extension cable if you have another. In my case this was the problem and the chip wasn’t detected for many hours. I tested also to detect it without the 1.8v adaptor, it seemed that it detected the chip, BUT the chip data wasn’t right and the same as on the screenshots in the manual and video.
August 10, 2016 at 10:48 am #46326If anyone running Linux with audio working on their Hi10 or Hi12 could you please run the AlsaInfo tool and post the output, or a alsa-project.org or Pastebin.com link to it? That might help some people get theirs working ā if there are any working???
I’m using Linux Mint on my Chuwi Hi10 with fully working audio.
Just I’m using it with a USB audio card, read the first post on this tread for the Plug&Play model.

August 3, 2016 at 5:57 pm #45490if you buy Chuwi Hi10 order a dualboot one.
my personal opinion is that’s a good tablet, but when buying it it’s a good idea also to purchase a bios chip programmer, you will need it soon or later … š
my older single boot chuwi tablet hardware revision v300 was dead for 1 month until I received the hardware bios chip flasher, and there are many like me.

July 29, 2016 at 6:50 pm #45050Hi Javier,
unfortunately the adapter is in my office, but I have connected it exactly as it’s shown in the PDF manual.
Be careful with the chip pins, be sure that the clip contacts well with them, also double check the USB extension cable, in my case actually I have changed it and some time after that everything start working, but I’m not sure that the problem was in the cable … most important is to be sure that the red wire of the clip is on the right pin of the chip, and to be sure that the clip is contacting well with the chip pins.
July 29, 2016 at 11:20 am #44957Iām another from so many bricked Chuwi Hi10 owners (Chuwi Hi10 V300 hardware revision, serial 15xxxxx) who reflashed the BIOS and the tablet is back to Life! ?
Info about the fix is here: http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/bricked-trying-bios-update/page/7/#post-44941

Thanks to the detailed manual here written by Bill Christiansen and the detailed videos posted in YouTube by Armookie here and here!!!
I have purchased this hardware: Ch341a Programmer + Clip + 1.8V Adapter + you will need also a USB Extension
I have downloaded the BIOS.bin image from here.
I have followed the instructions in the PDF file and the video mentioned above and have fixed my problem after receiving the hardware needed.
Below I would like to share my experience about a problem which took me some time (2-3 hours) before everything worked OK:
The chip in my Chuwi Hi10 tablet (V300 hardware revision, serial 15xxxxx) is Winbond w25q64fw, the same as in the Hi12.
As you can see on the attached pictures below there is a green dot mark on the corner of the chip. According to the manuals (the pdf and the video) the red cable of the Programmer connector have to be attached there, but in my case it wasn’t right. After some time I found that on the opposite end of the chip there is a little hole (dot) and this is the right side to connect the RED cable of the Clip. The chip is so small and this dot is very hard to be seen … I thought that the green dot mark was the correct one. š
Be careful also with the Clip if it is connected right to the pins of the chip, they are also small and it’s easy to miss some.
If on the bottom right corner of the Programmer software (version 1.29) the status is Connected, then the drivers are installed OK. If then the detect button don’t detect the chip then you have to check this 2 things above.
All this took me some time in many drivers installations / deinstallations, changing the USB extension cable, double checks if the Programmer, the adapter and the clip are connected OK and etc …
P.S. My Chuwi Hi10 hardware doesn’t support Dual boot Bios, despite this I have tested it just to be sure, I flashed my tablet with the newer BIOS but it doesn’t work … š after the test I had to Erase & Blank the chip again and flash it with the correct one.
P.S.2 I highly recommend the Chuwi Hi10 tread in the 4PDA forum here.
You can read it with Google translate š It’s a great place with A LOT OF detailed information, resources and HOWTO’s shared by the Russian hackers.

July 3, 2016 at 6:11 am #42529Today I installed Linux Mint Cinnamon 18 full release on the HI12 Dual Boot with no installation issues. Did a complete disk wipe and install. Got wifi working. Still working on sound and touch screen. Resolution: 2160Ć1440 @ 59.95hz What was strange was 2 weeks ago when I used live usb of Cinnamon 18 beta, touch screen worked. That was before I wiped the drive though..
Congrats!!! š
I’ll update the first posting with the information you provided!
June 28, 2016 at 5:41 pm #42204Does somebody have some success with this problem? š
I have a completely dead Chuwi Hi10, I have tested to wake it up with the instructions here and in this posting also
