Thanks for the review. Nice to see that Linux works. May try that sooner or later.

December 27, 2018 at 1:49 pm #149549if you see no sealed screw, then there is no seal. open up, post a photo and we take it from there. what was the cristalmark in R/W? load a page with color and white and black parts, flip screen towards you so far that you can barely make it out. If the colors do not change you got a IPS, if the colors shift and change you got a TN
Tilting the screen does not perceptibly alter colors though they do get a tad darker. Actually viewing angles seem to be as good as my IPS desktop display. So if it’s TN I guess it has really good viewing angles.
There is a seal on one screw. Seller is not responding and forcing me to either return or keep it. I guess I’ll keep it as truly everything else seems really nice. In comparison with the Teclast F7 (owned by my father in law) I feel the overall quality is at least a match
Crystaldiskmark results are attached.
Will post an image of internals later.

It was advertised as TN. Looks like a pretty good TN actually.
December 24, 2018 at 3:10 pm #149440I have messaged the seller asking for a discount. The only option with Lazada is to initiate a return. There is no negotiation option unlike Aliexpress.
Is the Samsung eMMC all that good? I got the following Crystaldiskmark figs:

Read: 283
Write: 1394k, for both Q8 and Q32:

I have not opened the thing up to check as I don’t want to break any seals, but are you saying there should be an empty port to add a SSD?
Yes it’s a 128GB Samsung DJNB4R eMMC.
December 18, 2018 at 6:16 am #149209I took the plunge with the Jumper. I needed a PC urgently and the price was pretty good.
September 5, 2016 at 3:14 am #48872Thanks for the reply. I guess I’ll have to make do with this compromise.
On the plus side though, amazing battery life on this tablet- 30% remaining after running for nearly 14 hours with display off.
August 29, 2016 at 8:14 am #48354I received the tablet. Going through the preliminaries right now and backing up drivers and such.
I have a question regarding using the tablet with wireless accessories like a keyboard and mouse.
I understand that the WIFi type n reception can suffer if bluetooth stuff are connected. But what about a 2.4GHz Wireless keyboard and mouse? Would the WIFI signal suffer also for these type of accessories?
August 19, 2016 at 4:09 am #47314Nope not even thumbdrive. I have a USB C adapter that I use with my MacBook and mi5 and when I connected it to this tablet, it doesn’t read anything.
That sucks pretty bad. I’m slightly regretting my decision now.
August 16, 2016 at 3:52 am #46963The only thing the Type C port can be used for is charging. Nothing else. Not even OTG. Tried and tested.
Not even thumbdrives?
Also the reported changes to RAM type and storage add to the negatives.
August 14, 2016 at 2:09 am #46774USB to Type-C cable and USB charger are included. Unit only charges from Type-C port.
There is no charger included… just a cable.
The Banggood listing has a charger included, but maybe Gear best doesn’t.
Will update once I get the tablet.
It seems that the previous micro USB 3 port version had a faster emmc and DDR3L RAM. The new version, with type C port, has no advantage other than this port. Would this be correct?
August 11, 2016 at 10:09 am #46414Hi all, need some help.
I just purchased the tablet only from Banggood. According to the specs the ports will be as follows:
1 x USB 2.0 <– Would this be a micro USB port?
1 x Type C port <– Does this replace the micro USB 3.0 port on previous versions?I would be traveling immediately after receiving the tablet, so I just want to be prepared cable adapter wise. I would like to plug in a mouse and keyboard for use while traveling.
I understand that a type C cable is provided for charging. A charger is also provided but I guess I’ll carry an extra.
I have a micro USB 2.0 to full USB 2.0 port OTG cable. I’ll be using this to plug in a wireless mouse.
I will purchase a USB c to USB 2.0 cable for the keyboard.
August 2, 2016 at 11:26 am #45328Thanks a lot. I think the i7 book is probably the way to go.
The i7 stylus also looks like great value with this price drop. May be worth considering also.
