I was cautious not to try at first because I screwed up another tablet before (for a different reason). However, I just cannot live with only 15GB of free space on Windows.
Thank you Chris, your method works perfectly. After deleting the non-Windows partitions and moving partitions / merging with unallocated space, I got exactly what you showed on your uploaded screenshot. Now I have about 41GB to use in Windows.
November 14, 2015 at 7:45 am #15770A solution on rooting Android has already been posted in another thread in this forum:
http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/x98-prok9c6-rooting/#post-12535
(NOTE: DON’T follow the instruction in that thread)
(1) download rooting app (.exe) from link to google drive
(2) download and install intel ADB driver for Android on your PC:
(3) boot tablet into Android
(4) enable “USB debugging” in Developer’s option
(5) connect tablet to PC by USB (you DON’T need to put the tablet into safe mode, fastboot etc. Just normal Android)
(6) run the rooting app – follow the steps in English
(7) tablet will reboot at the end of the process, with SuperSU installed. You can go online to update SuperSU.
I got root in the first attempt using this app. I also had no problem updating SuperSU.
P.S. My X98 Pro is a K9C6

November 13, 2015 at 6:26 am #15709I know there is a x98 plus model (with Z8300 and 4 / 64GB):
Nothing about this “x98 pro plus”, not even on teclast website.
November 9, 2015 at 8:49 am #15380I had problem with Google Play store when I first got my tablet, but since I updated to the latest firmware v1.03_20150916, Play store is now working perfectly.
November 9, 2015 at 8:45 am #15379Thank you Daniel, the rooting app works perfectly!
All I did was installed Intel ADB driver for Android, enabled USB debugging in Developer’s options, hooked up tablet to Windows PC, ran X98_PRO_5.1.1root.exe, following the instruction in English, and I got root.
Updated SuperSU through wifi, no error message.
November 6, 2015 at 12:46 pm #15133I am sorry my card is a Kingston 64GB microSDXC card UHS-1 Speed class 3 U3 (SDCA3/64GB).
The annoying thing is that, after I reformat the card to NTFS and plug it into an external SD card reader (with microSD plug), Android recognizes the card – but it cannot write to it.
I tried installing Int-SD fixer to try to fix the write access, but it failed to install on Android 5.1. SDFix needs root access therefore cannot be installed either. I know these apps are for KitKat write problem but don’t tell me I didn’t give them a try.
November 3, 2015 at 1:35 pm #14840I have 64GB Kingston Class 10 microSDHC card. It has always worked in Windows and is never recognized in Android. I tried formatting the card to exFAT, NTFS and FAT32. None of them are recognized by Android.
November 3, 2015 at 3:18 am #14810Thanks this solved the problem in Win 10.
Unfortunately the clock in Android 5.1 is still wrong everytime I boot into it from Windows.P.S. For some reason the Android clock is working now, same time as Windows
