This solution solved my battery charging problem. However, I cannot charge in Android but in Windows 10 I can charge the tablet, as well as when the tablet is turned off. Any suggestions?

October 20, 2015 at 6:24 pm #13761Hey
<noscript>
</noscript>I really don’t understand what the problem could be, as I have spent already hours, if not more, to try to find a solution, without success, and I feel quite desperate now… I know my USB dongles & hubs work well, but I don’t understand why I can’t manage to see them detected under the BIOS. I have thought for a moment about the BIOS Secure Boot function, but nowhere under the Bios I saw any way to disable the Secure Boot on this tablet…
On the YouTube videos, it seems to work flawlessly, and I respect the exact procedure they give, but on my device, it gives no result.
I wish someone, on this forum, could help me find a way to fix this, as having a full backup of my system & of all-partitions would allow me to deeply customize each partition without worrying.
Thanks a lot for your help, guys!
My C5J6 can detect the USB dongles. The UEFI BIOS can detect the USB dongles. Windows 10 detects the USB dongles. However when I set it up in the UEFI BIOS to boot from the USB dongles, it fails to do so. Same with Windows 10 with the SHIFT key + Restart option that takes you to the Windows 10 Bootup Diagnostic screen. UEFI USB 2.0 shows, and when choosing it, the C5J6 restarts, the USB dongle flashes rapidly several times, then it does not boot from there but instead boots into Windows 10.
I had the same objectives as you have right now but since this is my baby daughter’s tablet and the Android side of installs is still keeping me busy I have no time to tinker around that much anymore, having spend the best of a month trying to install a lot of apps and applying Link2SD to Android.
Maybe someone can help here or maybe if I can purchase another C5J6 in another sale.
October 11, 2015 at 8:47 am #13016That did work. Awesome. But now the tablet won’t boot from the USB Stick. But that’s another problem, I have several sticks and hubs I can test with.
Thanks for the help.
Hmmm. It seems we have the same concern. I made a bootable Live USB Ubuntu Linux 14 LTS USB drive and I also cannot boot from it using this method or the BIOS UEFI method.
October 11, 2015 at 5:51 am #13013Normally the Samsung emmcs are the fastest. I’m not sure what to do next. Have you tired a factory reset? No way mine takes over two minutes to boot to android. Its under a minute. But i don’t have much installed.
Well I may have to live with this fact since I’m almost done with the installs for this tablet for my baby daughter to use. Might get a second tablet for myself next time they have a sale. Cheers! 🙂
October 11, 2015 at 5:49 am #13012Thanks Clarke..
It didn’t work out for me..
I was advised by Chris to try something else which did solve the problem. Press and hold the power bottom for 10 seconds then press and hold it again for another 4 seconds. This really worked out with me.
Thank you and big thanks to Chris as well,
Sherif
Yes indeed we have a similar situation that calls for that combination of pressing power button and holding it down initially for 10 seconds then pressing and holding it down for a second time for 4 seconds. Must be a bug.
October 11, 2015 at 5:46 am #13011Mine charges 3-4 hours from 0% using factory supplied charger. C5J6.
October 10, 2015 at 5:10 pm #12998One method is to go into Windows 8.1 / 10 and search for advanced startup. There you can then go into the BIOS upon restarting.
October 9, 2015 at 10:03 am #12901Why not use v5.0?
Ah it is V5 all along, slight typo. 🙂
October 9, 2015 at 5:29 am #12889Has anyone tried installing a linux operating system on the tablet?
If so, does it work properly?
If not, will it work out?
You may try this before committing to a full install of Linux: Ubuntu Linux: How to create a bootable USB stick on Windows
October 9, 2015 at 5:28 am #12888Hi, well the newer models come with the latest bios. English OK start button on the dual boot menu instead of Chinese and English factory ROMs with English, Russian and Chinese support on first boot. The earlier ROMs just had Chinese and then you need to install a language pack.
As for pricing, they are good prices. Banggood.com just had it for 183 a few days ago. Maybe Ali Express might have it for cheaper, but you don’t have paypal there.
@Chris if I may ask which BIOS version has the English OK button that is compatible with no problems with C5J6? And perhaps you have a link or a mirror link for it? Thanks in advance! 🙂October 3, 2015 at 1:17 am #12470Hi,
I have a few questions regarding updating the bios. What are the benefits of updating the bios on these tablets?
I have the dual boot model (C5J6) but the dual boot menu is in chinese, will the bios update change this to english?
I also found this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61719173&postcount=9792 is this (2.02) still the latest bios version? and does this work on all x98 models? since the tutorial is a few months old
thanks
Proceed with caution. If it is not broken, don’t fix it. Cheers!
October 1, 2015 at 3:21 pm #12313While not entirely impossible, as some have already rooted it, I was told by @TecKnight that is it quite a challenge (paraphrased) to root it.
October 1, 2015 at 6:10 am #12287Dear respected colleagues,
I have a power-on problem with my Teclast x98 Air 3G 64 GB…
When I press the power bottom to wake it up, it fails sometimes to do the requested job.
This sometimes happens after getting fully charged…it takes quite long time till it wakes up but it startes from the dual booting option as if I powered up for the first time.
Kindly advise as it happened four to five times over the past 3 months.
Other than this, the device is functioning perfectly.
Regards,
Sherif
This is not something new as more than one person has experienced this, including myself and my wife (won’t boot during a presentation in a meeting at that, LOL!). Might be a bug in the build of the hardware.
