I’ve had the same issue afrer I throw a glass of wine on my keyboard 🙂 It’s probably some keys are jammed, not exactly power button, try to push all buttons by flat hand, do it sevral times and press power button. And if it not help, keep do it again and again 🙂
After succesfull bot i’ve invetigate witch keys are going to jamm, by linux command “evtest”. I’ve unmount them, and clean up under the rubber button using toothpick.
Good Luck
November 6, 2017 at 9:18 pm #74487if you have access to other pc, you can boot live linux, download isorespin.sh and elementaryos.iso, open terminal in directory with downloaded files and type : sh isorespin.sh -i elementaryos.iso –apollo
November 6, 2017 at 7:58 pm #74482I did that once, and after i’ve changed Chipset OS Selection to “Intel Linux”, my start screen start to be dimmed out, and i cant’t enter to bios anymore (keyboard didn’t respond).
But i can confirm that Grub is working with these settings (but cannot operate in grub becouse keyboard don’t work until system start) 🙁
November 6, 2017 at 7:48 pm #74480Yes, it’s possible. I’m using elementary on my ezbook.
To install you need to use isorespin script to change bootloader in elementary iso http://linuxiumcomau.blogspot.com.es/2017/10/
November 3, 2017 at 3:40 pm #74348I have temporary solution. It’s a bit dirty but works.
If you only suspending or eventualy restarting computer, touchpad should work in both OS. But if you need to turn off, a easiest way to restore touchpad is :
- plug linux live usb, unplug mouse etc
- go to bios
- restore defaults -> save settings and reset
- go to bios again and pick boot from usb
- touchpad shoud be restored
- reboot and unplug usb
- 🙂
Did anyone tried other version of Refined (some older maybe)?
October 22, 2017 at 11:38 am #73776Yes, i did that. But those things affecting also Windows 10, not only linux.
I think, problem it’s more related to Refind bootloader but i’m not sure because it always happens randomly.October 21, 2017 at 12:51 pm #73732in my case, (i’ve installed elemetary os on both of my v4 laptops) and touchpad sometimes work, sometimes not.
It’s really weird, after installation touchpad worked on windows and linux, and suddenly after few days/few reboots died in linux and windows also.
After reconect battery and reinstall refind touchpad start working, but now on one of my laptops touchpad is still working more than week but on second sometimes work sometimes not, without any action.
October 18, 2017 at 7:27 pm #73626i did the same once. Solution to clear CMOS is to disconnect battery, push power button few times and reconnect again.
Now i have fully working elemenatry OS intsalled, it’s simple to do using this script http://linuxiumcomau.blogspot.com.es/2017/09/
Better don’t mess up with BIOS, it’s not adapted well 🙂
October 11, 2017 at 11:08 pm #73276I have two v4 ezzbook’s and in both cases touchpad stopped working in linux and windows after install linux (elemetary OS – respined by isorespin.sh) and refind.
But it worked for a while, touchpad suddenly stopped after few reboots. Even when i’ve tried to boot windows 10 by orginal windows Uefi bootloader (not refind), touchpad still didn’t work.
I’ve tried to open laptop and reconnect battery to reset bios, and it worked a job but not permanently.
After it i’ve tried many things like:
– reload i2c_hid module
– reload ps_mouse modue with proto=imps
– add boot params like i8042.reset i8042.nomux i8042.nopnp i8042.noloop
but without success 🙁dmesg | grep i2c_hid are showing me: [ 2056.460636] i2c_hid i2c-SYNA3602:00: i2c_hid_get_input: incomplete report (27/34) [ 3077.604699] i2c_hid i2c-SYNA3602:00: failed to reset device.
