When I bought it, the invoice had an extra line for a “Adapter” that cost 0.01 (1 cent). I’m guessing that’s the US adapter since I put in my comments that I need a US adapter. I’ll let you guys know if it actually ships with the US plug.
August 10, 2017 at 4:58 am #70350Do you want to take a screenshot of the error? Can’t really help you if we don’t know what the actual “shell prompt” error says. Also, have you tried to boot into a USB Live OS (some Linux variant)? If so, maybe your boot sector for Windows is corrupt (maybe the eMMC had some failure). You can try to re-install the OS at that point. Chuwi forums has the Windows 10 image available for download in 4 parts: http://forum.chuwi.com/thread-4286-1-1.html
Also, could you do me a HUGE FAVOUR by taking a picture of the inside of the back plate? I asked this question in my thread but no one responded. What I mean is the opposite side of the back plate which “internal” videos usually don’t show (I want to know how the M.2 slot compartment is mounted onto the back plate and whether or not it’s easy to remove). Thanks in advance!
August 7, 2017 at 4:54 am #70212As an update, I asked an official Q&A question on GearBest website, and they said this in response:
Your original question is “Does this item have a US charger option? And is the keyboard EU style (AZERTY) or US style (QWERTY)?”
Here is the answer from Our Customer service Team:
”
Hello <My Name Redacted>,
Yes. we will send US charger to you. The style of keyboard is US style (QWERTY)
I just placed an order on GearBest for this model from their HK-2 warehouse with the special instruction requesting the US plug, so hopefully it comes through… If not, it’s cheap enough to get a EU -> US plug adapter on eBay/Aliexpress, so it’s not a big deal.
August 4, 2017 at 1:29 am #70096Looks like you got a unit that was poorly QC’d and they just let it slide through… That really sucks, but I hope you can return the SSD? (or maybe buy the part that connects the SSD to the port on the motherboard?)
August 2, 2017 at 8:32 am #70015Geekbuying website says the M.2 SSD slot is limited to 128GB… Is this really true? That seems rather limiting. I would have preferred 256GB SSD. Is that possible?
August 2, 2017 at 8:29 am #70014Do you need a special promo code or something? It shows up as $209.82 for me.
I’m thinking of getting it to run Linux. Which distro are you using, and how did you install it?
