how can you managed to install chromeOS? are you using neverware? are you using dual boot? i installed neverware some time ago but it had weak performance and issues. How is your performance?
Yes, Cloudready from Neverware, that’s a free ChromeOS variant. You don’t need to tweak anything, just download the image, burn it on USB stick, and boot it – runs fine, everything works out of the box. Application performance is more or less the same and does not depend much on the OS. ChromeOS just implements the scrolling better (freon window manager) so everything is much smoother and without that lag, uses less RAM, isn’t as wasteful with background services, and also boots much faster (of course the USB stick sets some limitations). I was using it from USB stick. Unfortunately you cannot install it parallel to Windows. So it does need a dedicated SSD to be installed (didn’t go that route yet). Main problem I see with ChromeOS is the missing custom multitouch gestures. You can of course configure all that in Linux, but that would need some deeper investigation.
I used to install it on my ssd which works fine. But with stock neverware is useless for me. You can not install android apps so the only ones you can use that are stock and i cant live like this 🙂
January 30, 2019 at 4:23 pm #150331With mojave it was quite cool but I just tested it for a day. quite happy with this jumper for 290€ is really great! the vertical viewing angles are rubish – TNpanel – but it does not bother me. Windows is running great, the metal case should help keeping temps down too. I dont game or use premiere. I also use debloater when I install windows: https://github.com/Sycnex/Windows10Debloater this is the kind of performance yet this one has a fan.
it looks snappy. I am using iphone so integration between ios and windows is terrible. Even transferring photos a challenge so i would like to try hackintosh but sadly n3450 is not supported. overall i am very happy with my 3 pro too. Screen is brilliant, not tn panel and colors, and angles are perfect. Didn’t run that bloatware remover but i manually removed them all. I have very smooth and enjoyable performance. I too dont gaming because i have ps4 for it but i do 3d modelling and photoshop and so far this device has never let me down. So not running mac os is not a big deal.
January 30, 2019 at 1:41 pm #150329after hearing what you have said, I decided to stuck with Win 10 for now. Does it mean if I disable touchpad , the chance of having CPU loading issue will reduce significantly? It’s hard to imagine how this touch pad can affect so much in this laptop. I will test it later. thanks a lot.
When i was using ubuntu 18.10 i never noticed any strange overload on cpu and the touchpad was working quite fine.
January 30, 2019 at 1:39 pm #150328If you tweak Windows services a bit it runs quite similar efficient as Linux (only that it utilizes much more RAM). Applications also run pretty much similar. But that depends on what you are using. Most of the CPU load comes from the touchpad implementation. It uses almost all the CPU for polling the touchpad. I have investigated that extensively. If you want smooth and precise scrolling the only solution so far I found is going to ChromeOS. It is much more responsive in this regard than anything else.

January 30, 2019 at 1:33 pm #150327how was the performance compared to windows? mac os usually bit better when it comes to handling system resources and performance.
January 28, 2019 at 1:45 pm #150276I got the Ezbook Plus last week. Today I installed Mojave, still trying to get the trackpad to work. Did any of you got the trackpad working?
how about internal wifi adapter? does it work?
January 18, 2019 at 12:59 pm #150122you can install ubuntu 18.10 easily and it works out of the box. I tried to install ubuntu 18.04 and elementary os but they gave me hard time with grub and for some reason i couldnt able to use it as dual boot or boot into ubuntu after the installation. Grub minimal bash like line editing error comes. But in ubuntu 18.10 i think they fixed something and i works directly.

@Furkan I also have the problem of freezes with AC pluged in. However I didn’t change anything on the hardware or driver side. Do you use the factory AC Adaptor or a after-market one?
</p>
i am using factory one. Check if your windows version 1809. It is very problematic on n3450 chipshet. I dont know why. I switch back to windows 10 1803 and everything is fine.
January 6, 2019 at 3:02 pm #149831still sticking with 1703 with mine for 13 Months. Removed and blocked everything I did not want like spytana and edge and all the MS spyons, nearly all of the telemety. Just the other day I tried again to do my own colors allover as it was so very simple done in win 7 Research showed that after 1703 windows completely removed ways to change these settings like creation of a theme in 7 and saving it as .themepack then just clicking on it in 1703 and you have all the color tweaks you did in 7 imported to 10. If you run into a problem in 10 and you find a solution, there is a high percentage it does not work because it is for one of the other windows 10 versions. What is the problem to not given them an simple 10.1 10.2…. 10.17??
I would really like to remove telemetry, edge, spytana etc. As well. Do you have a link to share for me to learn? I closed all the settings privacy but as i recall i have to stop some services etc. But i dont remember them correctly.
January 5, 2019 at 4:54 pm #1498021809 upgrade on my desktop PC was nothing short of a nightmare… I had to do a rollback and that was also messed up.
Last couple of weeks was a nightmare for me. I do like my device so much but i even had to look for replacement because of this. What a mess. I tried literally everything but nothing worked except this. And MS told that they fixed everything. Yeah nice fix. But in the end i am happy that i dont have any hardware issues related to laptop or ssd.
January 5, 2019 at 12:15 am #149741nice it fix it for you
did windows 1809 hang also without boosted volume?
yes it actually did. without volume boost. And i also encountered it while i was preparing windows 10 bootable usb, i wasnt even using any sound. And i installed 1809 twice just to make sure there is something wrong with the setup. Thank god 1803 solved all my problems.
January 4, 2019 at 11:08 pm #149739give it a try, you should be able to roll back from recovery settings https://www.blogsdna.com/27818/how-to-downgrade-to-windows-10-version-1803-from-1809.htm or it can be just hw problem that show up after 1y of usage.
I did even better. I spare my time on it and installed fresh windows 10 1803. And my god. It worth my time. I am doing all sorts of things now with my pc and my high volume settings. No freezes, no shutdowns no nothing! It actually solved it. If anyone encounters with the same problem, here is the solution. From now on, i am done installing updates on day 1.
January 4, 2019 at 6:50 pm #149735okay, little update. I removed the ssd and the problem still exists, so it is not ssd related. Chris if you are available i sure need your assistance. I will now try to revert back to windows 10 1803 build. If that does not work too, only god knows what is the issue because the OS is the only different thing before i bought ssd.
January 4, 2019 at 10:01 am #149717it’s hardware issue. try to take out ssd and use windows on emmc if you have same problem again. ezbook is really bad construction for example on mine when you plug power cord touchpad is getting crazy when notebook is on flat surface. when you rise it a bit it works OK. no problem on battery. also mine sometimes hang with black screen and you need to power it off. sometimes after it hangs it does not see ssd and boots to my windows on emmc, but usually after reboot it see ssd again. twice after hang it didn’t saw touchpad at all. device was there, driver was there, but windows didn’t even show arrow. only solution was to open case and replug battery for touchpad to start working again. for me there is some issue with power charging, some interferences. maybe with ssd it happeds often. like i said if you kept windows on emms i would start with taking ssd out and checking if problem is still there.
yeah that was my second option. If it is related to ssd port, well it is a big shame then. And i would seriously consider selling this machine because it is so frustrating. I am hoping it is related to windows but it is a low chance.
January 3, 2019 at 11:47 pm #149707I tried the apo and others too bot my sound cut out sometimes after sleep or hibernation. I also had it that after using the headphones the speakers would not work and it needed a fresh reboot. So I kicked all the shit of the Jumper an use vlc as a mediaplayer and youtube player. It is a little add on you have to install and a little helper program. VLC comes with an internal 200% booster what gets activated when you are at 100% and go for more volume. Works like a charm. No more trouble and computer stays cooler than when using Firefox to watch youtube.
here is the thing, it happens with the vlc too. I uninstalled the sound apps but nothing has changed. And it wasnt happening before so it is so frustrating. I am worried about windows 1809. I will try format back to 1803 and see if it will be okay.
