1981 soldered my first Sinclair computer 1K, tapedeck * 1984 build and sold IBM clones 8Mhz, 512K, 20MB HDD * 2018 messing with ultrabooksMay 6, 2018 at 7:04 pm #142691Hello, I just wanted to start ThrottleStop 8.60 (Windows 10 1803), unfortunately it does not work. Error “mfc120u.dll was not found”. Version 8.50 works without problems. Of course, Visual C ++ 2013 is installed. Where is the problem? Who it’s also so? Is there a solution?
May 6, 2018 at 7:18 pm #142692Solved! The 32bit version of Visual C ++ was missing. But why did version 8.50 work? I do not understand that entirely….
May 7, 2018 at 11:07 am #142723Then he might have chosen to go 32bit to be better compatible with older OS who still run 32bit.
They have a forum where you can ask him.
He told me that the n3450 is barely supported and that there are some errors in the code (speed shoes too little)
But it works for what it should do.Need Help?

However HWinfo still shows Power Limit – 9.0w
Is there a permanent solution? Can I simply tweak this number in the bios? As there is a setting there for it

Normally for 30 to 45 seconds, then it gets too warm an throttles to the half turbo speed around 1600MHz. The normal operating speed is 1100MHz and the low power energy saver is around 800 MHz. Now here comes you, bright eyed and bushy tailed to test you new toy. As long as the time limit (maybe yours is deactivated already in the bios) is not reached (or used my throttlestop setting) AND the high temperature sensor is not triggert your Jumper will run like there is no tomorrow and keep the max speed (as 1.9 show in throttle stop) in reality 2100 MHz for all 4 until you stop. If you run a single core test you Jumper can even do 2200MHZ while the other 3 takes a smoke somewhere (not literally) If you test, use several monitors especially the build in locky locky via CTRL, SHIFT and ESC to understand your processors better, watch them at work doing different things.
Just to clarify, “Power Limit 1 Enable” in Bios should be set to ‘DISABLED’, right? (for max power)
June 7, 2018 at 12:10 pm #143687Only issue I’ve got with my new EZbook is that it makes a very very faint electrical noise sometimes when it’s “doing stuff”…

Also there’s another sound it makes, a high pitched constant whine, which is tied to the brightness seemingly (lower is louder)
June 8, 2018 at 8:52 am #143704yes you have 2; one for the power and one for the brightness.
Congratulations, you have good hearing – it will fade with age.
or with a better computer 😉Need Help?

The bios setting don’t seem to work but running this with no limit I was able to hit 15W

And use this command for 15W limit:
Command to set 15W TDP limit: RW.exe /Min /Nologo /Stdout /Command=”WRMSR 0x610 0x0 0x00DD8F00 0″

It sounds like if we use that file/run that command, you can effectively permanently increase the limit? Does the bios need to be flashed for that?
July 13, 2018 at 9:25 pm #144498It’s just a memory write so once it’s rebooted you lose it.
