I guess with all my talk of motorcycle batteries I was thinking a 12V lithium motorcycle battery… I would have thought it would be easier to get a sealed lead acid on a plane than such a big lithium battery though?
October 11, 2016 at 12:24 pm #54666Any tried this for charging “Anker 60W USB Wall Charger PowerPort+ 5 USB-C”?
Eventually bought this and proved that the USB-C PD is working fine for i7 book.
Moreover, I also bought Orico USB-C to HDMI/USB3.0 adapter with USB-C charging pass thru is working fine too.

I’m thinking of buying iVoler 75w (https://www.amazon.it/iVoler-Caricatore-Delivery-Macbook-Chromebook/dp/B01EUN7JME/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1476959751&sr=8-1&keywords=ivoler+75), which has been confirmed to be working with cube i7 book.
However, I am completely lost as to which usb-c cable, supporting power delivery for charging to get…
Can we probably keep track of all the working usb-c cables for power delivery on the first page?
October 21, 2016 at 8:22 pm #55377I can confirm another USB-C charger working, and a slightly cheaper one than the iVoler and Anker at that. It’s the RAVPower Type-C Charger 36W (https://www.amazon.de/dp/B01I9N83K8?psc=1) It’s probably charging a bit slower than the other ones, considering it’s only 36 Watts, but does charge when the tablet is in use and doesn’t seem to be terribly slow either. Haven’t tested speed in detail, but I think it got me from somewhere around 70% to full in about an hour, while the tablet was on.
I’m using an AUKEY USB-C cable (this one: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01144ZV68/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).
November 4, 2016 at 7:45 am #56396New 12V Power supply?
Does anyone know the 12 V tip size?
I need a new 12V power supply. The wires at the base have been compromised due to excess bending pressure.
Plus with a local pin adapter it.is not.very practicable.

WILL THIS FIT?
2.5mm*0.7mm ?
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/162008725863
Personally if 0.7 is the dimension of the Samsung pin well I would guess visually the i7 book pin is about the same.
I want a ‘laptop style’ PS. Where there is a lengthy AC to “figure 8” cord before the PS itself.
I like the magnetic ring on the linked PS.
Might cut down on DC buzzing you can hear via headphone speaker when plugged in – definitely with sound off.
At any rate those are my rambling thoughts on this till anyone either gives thumbs up or says “hey idiot why not get a multi tip 12V or even adjustable PS?”
I guess for $12 USD I like the idea of a cheap dedicated power supply. That is a little ‘over current’ If anything it should ‘run cool’… have you ever killed a laptop PS by leaving a blanket over it?
If it’s rated for 3.33 A then if only drawing 2.5A MAX
Weight. I expect PS capable of higher voltages + currents to weigh more.

November 10, 2016 at 8:29 am #56671Anyone try this powerbank PD Type C Portable Charger RAVPower 26800mAh Battery Pack?
November 15, 2016 at 8:28 am #56951Has anyone tried the Xiaomi USBC to HDMI yet? (http://item.jd.com/3633879.html) or the new powerbank that does 12v/1.5A (https://item.jd.com/2198730.html)?
November 17, 2016 at 11:18 am #57055Look at the previous posts:
@Paul: The USB-C to HDMI should work, while the powerbank will not work. It needs to be a USB-C with Power Delivery powerbank as @Aleksandr has posted. Even though it does 12V 1.5A, that is a QuickCharge function, which is not supported by the cube.
@Aleksandr: The RAVPower pack could/should work, but as said many times before, you never know until you try 😉November 20, 2016 at 9:53 pm #57191If anyone in the UK is looking for a USB-C hub with HDMI and USB 3.0, I just got this one from Amazon for a mere £4.99. Works a treat and very sturdy metal build…

The video looks fine but the audio doesn’t seem to work and I don’t know what should I do. Should it just work out of the box? In this case, my unit is faulty.
November 21, 2016 at 10:37 pm #57236@Popo Yaya: thanks for the link to the hub, looks really interesting compared to the much more expensive aukey one, considering it also has charging through power delivery type C. How is that cable length working for you? It looks really short on the customer pictures. Does it dangle if you use the tablet docked to the keyboard?
@Aleksandr: I dont think that Ravpower powerbank is going to be able to charge the cube i7 book. As far as I understood the product details on amazon it only support PD (power delivery) for the input which means you can charge it faster using the PD technology, but it does not say it can also output PD so I highly doubt it. The only power bank I know thus far that supports PD is this one https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Portable-VoltageBoost-Technology/dp/B01K6S29FE/ . But it is not longer beeing sold for whatever reason (plus it was expensive AF).
@Giuseppe: I assume your problem is when trying to use the HDMI output from the usb C hub? Just to summarize, you do get video over hdmi but no audio? Is there no audio at all or does the tablet continue to play the audio while you wanted the audio to be on the other device? I believe you just need to change the audio output device in windows so it no longer uses the built in tabletspeakers and rather gives the audio signal to the hdmi when connected.November 22, 2016 at 12:13 am #57240I’ll actually give the RAV power bank a shot, ordered it from amazon UK. I’m somewhat optimistic, since the description says it supports 30W chargin via USB C (presumably Power Delivery):
<span class=”a-list-item”>Massive 30W Type-C Output: The Type-C output reaches up to 30W that matches the original AC MacBook charger, so you can charge all devices including a MacBook in no time. (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01LZILJQ1/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)</span>
Now it’s true that not all chargers/powerbanks billed to be compatible with the Macbook will work with our Cube i7, but since my USB C charger also “only” supplies 36W via PD, I guess there’s a reasonable chance this might work. Of course still depends on the amount of voltage allowed, but it seems to be more than 5V/3A, so that’s encouraging. Will report back if it works.
November 23, 2016 at 2:18 pm #57313The cable, like all of these hubs, is pretty short and it does dangle from the tablet. The connection is pretty solid, but I wouldn’t want to put pressure on it for any length of time. May have to find a USB-C extension cable.
