I had this not enough space problem as well previously. I didn’t know we can use MCT to build Windows 1511 build 10586 USB installation drive. What I did was I re-partitioned the Android and Windows partitions, to give more space for the Windows installation. Thanks a lot for this tip!

I just re-flashed my X98 Plus with your custom ROM 2.1.7.
March 25, 2016 at 3:19 am #30788I tried that gpt files, Windows partition will be wiped out completely, and have to install Windows from scratch, and painfully installing the drivers one by one.
March 24, 2016 at 2:44 pm #30740Does Windows recognize larger SD cards (>32GB) after the flash? That is my biggest concern.
I use Samsung EVO 128 GB for X98 Plus, after Win 10 re-installation with the new image, no problem reading the 128 GB mSD formatted in FAT32. But still problem reading my 200 GB SanDisk mSD that I bought from Amazon.
Hello Bram thanks for your post. Please I’m new at flashing windows on tablets. I need to reinstall windows 10 for my teclast x98plus a5c8. Would you explain me if I really need to download all the files that you have uploaded to mega or just the parts of windows? And I have to unzip this parts and make a USB installer with this? Thanks
For Windows re-installation, you just need the windows image file, the 4 rar files as shown in the attached picture. Unpack and copy all the files as shown in the 2nd picture, to the root folder of the USB drive. But before that, the USB drive must be formatted in FAT32 with default cluster size to make bootable by X98 Plus.
The last pdf file in the Mega folder is actually the flashing instruction in Mandarin, you can download it as well if you want to check it out, but the picture they used for Windows installation is not from X98 Plus pictures, so a bit misleading.
Let me know if you need further info.

I used Rufus to create a bootable Win 10 flash drive, using Win 10 ISO image from Microsoft. I choose FAT32 for the file system. I did this to make sure that the USB flash is bootable. After that I deleted all the content of the flash drive, and replace it with the Windows 10 image files from Teclast posted in this thread.
After that connect the USB flash drive to a powered USB hub, and connect the hub to the tablet:
Boot to BIOS (Press Vol + & Power button)
Change :
Main / OS Image ID : Windows
Save & Exit / Boot Override : Select the USB flash drive with the Windows image connected to the USB hub.
The mistake earlier was to set DNX Fast Boot : Enable. It makes the booting from flash drive always fail, at least on my case.
The flashing process took about 15 minutes, followed by Win 10 initialization which took quite some time. The C: drive used capacity from this Win 10 re-installation is 12.7 GB. I haven’t tested the micro SD read write speed on this installation.
I plan to re-size the Android partition and redo this Win 10 installation one more time after that.
March 24, 2016 at 10:09 am #30702Regarding the wake up lag time in Android that happens to some of us including me, I noticed something today, that the screen wake up response is not laggy when the tablet is charging / connected to charger. When I disconnect the charger, the 5-10 secs lag time is back. Seems like something to do with power setting. So, hopefully something that can be easily fixed in Android, and no need to fix the BIOS.

Currently I’m using Mirek190 custom rom v1. But the wake up lag issue is the same as the spzjulien custom rom.
March 24, 2016 at 3:35 am #30670Hi Mirek, could you kindly add exFAT and NTFS support in the next release?
Thanks a lot!
March 24, 2016 at 1:40 am #30660I just flashed this ROM into my A5C8, clean install. Seems ok, but I haven’t installed apps yet.
I was hoping the 5 seconds wake up lag on the Android solved with this ROM, but unfortunately it still lags when waking up from screen off, as discussed in this post:
http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/lagging-wakeup-on-android-solution/
Probably firmware issue? But it is not laggy in Windows.
March 24, 2016 at 1:04 am #30657Has anyone successfully re-flashed the Windows 10 using the new image?
Does anyone know the procedure for flashing the Windows 10 image?
Thanks!
March 23, 2016 at 9:53 am #30521Thanks a lot for this! I will give it a try.
March 17, 2016 at 3:56 am #29735Or boot to BIOS (Press Vol + & Power button)
Go to:
Save & Exit / Boot Override : Select the external flash drive that you want to boot from.
If it is not showing in the Boot Override list, that means the tablet is not able to detect it or boot from it.
March 17, 2016 at 3:44 am #29732same problem with aukey AIO 2.4A 6 port, got 7-8h but if i use my letv quick charge 2.0 or original charger.. then … 3h charging if i use my aukey 16000mah battery notmal 2.4 port 7-8h but quick charge port … 3h …

</noscript>Wow 3 hours? That’s really fast! Is that mean that X98 Plus compatible with Qualcomm quick charge 2.0 ?
If you have USB charger tester / doctor, did you check the charging voltage and current when using the quick charge? Interested to know if the voltage is increased to 9 Volt or 12 Volt as per Qualcomm specification.
I use generic 2A charger, it takes around 7 hours to get full. Btw, cable is also plays important part for fast charging. Some cable can be very slow on the same setup.
March 16, 2016 at 8:20 am #29594Has anyone successfully upgrade the Windows 10 using this new image?
A few weeks ago, before this new image published, I tried to flash my Win 10 partition, tried a few times, but failed to boot from the USB drive. I followed the procedure on this post:
http://bbs.teclast.com/thread-533047-1-1.html
I formatted the USB flash drive to FAT32 using default cluster size, and also used externally powered USB hub I used to fix other Teclast tablet windows partition, my Teclast X89 Windows 8, followed the procedure:
Boot to BIOS (Press Vol + & Power button)
Change :
Main / OS Image ID : Windows
Main / DNX Fast Boot : Enabled
Save & Exit / Boot Override : Select the USB flash drive with the Windows image connected to the USB hub.
The system than boot to DNX fast boot mode, displaying DNX fast boot 3 times, than goes back to the normal Windows 10 boot, and failed to boot from the USB drive.
Anyone knows the correct procedure for Windows 10 re-installation on Teclast X98 Plus using the image provided by Teclast?
Thanks!
March 15, 2016 at 7:27 am #29456spzjulien… could some of the problems be related to the changes made by the Root process? I never tried a Root on an Android device, but I read lots of articles about that and almost all alerts that it could cause problems. On the Windows matter, I have made several installs and reinstalls on some of different previous versions (before 8) and I came from MS-DOS… :-)))). On this, I don’t remember of any hardware problems. Now, on a dual device, I guess problems could double if one changes the original software. Usually, specific software are made for specific hardware and compatibility with other devices/software are not always assured.
I’m using SPZJulien custom ROM, on my case, so far the issue is more on the mSD card, particularly SanDisk. Now using Samsung EVO 128 GB, no issue so far on both Android and Windows.
