mm it seems more a software problem, since rebooting the laptop makes it work…

Ok, that’s how to set 15W.

What I am asking is: What about other values? Does it heat? Is an additional thermal system needed?

What about all other bios settings? Are they useful for any reason or other situations?

I mean, there are hundred of things that could be said, I’m looking for a wider guide.

Well it seems more a software/driver issue, the same happens even if the laptop is completely still with nobody using/moving it.

You unlock the Advanced and Chipset menus

Yes, I just did it, version 12_5 with no problems.
I meant, now that I have advanced menus what are the most useful hacks that I could do?

    I’ve checked:

    • Chipset -> South Cluster Configuration -> SCC Configuration -> eMMC Max Speed -> was already set to HS400 so nothing to earn
    • Advanced -> CPU Configuration -> CPU Power Mangement -> Power Limit 1 is  Enabled and limited to 9 -> what to set here?
Raising it to 15 or completely disable limit? What are pros/cons/risks of both options?
How to veryfy improvements / if any?

    Thanks

My rubber V6 touchpad is already good as it is.

I’ve just changed a couple of windows settings:

    – reduced sensitivity from high to medium

    – disabled pinch to zoom

I couldn’t find a way to increase inertia/momentum of the scroll: I’ve tried the synaptic driver (the package cointains different variants Ps2, smbus touchpad, smbus forcepad, tried them all), but after reboot windows always put a red X on the device as not working and reverted to the default one)

Is there a guide of the benefits/settings of the unlocked bios?

I’ve been reading the whole thread and I’m still not convinced if doing it or not…

The same happens to me, both left usb port and sd card randomly disconnects.

With sd card often windows pops out saying “a new device has been attached” like if I removed and re-endered the card.

I was copying 6GB of data from external HDD attached to the left USB3 port and it kept disconnecting with windows saying “cannot find the file to copy anymore”. Pressing “retry” the process continued.. like if disk disconnected/reconnected.

    Maybe some power saving-related setting?

I don’t understand, the bottom left and right of the trackpad are hardware keys for left/right click… It’s normal that they “clack” when pressed…

    go with crucial mx300 ssd`s its a safe way…

As far as I can see the mx300 only comes in the 2280 form, which implies modding the chassis to fit it, avoiding any kind of warranty (if any exists).

Has anybody tried flashing the modded bios using AFUWINGUI.exe or the dos version?
