Just to let you know that 2 months ago, my “FORESEE 128 GB” SSD died. see this thread

Maybe the firmware can solve or avoid this problem ?

    Another (last ?) update :

I had to update the driver of both “SD Host” device in Device manager, so that my 128GB Samsung microsd would be recognized.

Just by right clicking and asking Windows to download a new driver.

I guess the issue comes from Windows installing default driver before all Intel chipset driver are installed and allows to properly identify every devices… then you have to manually tell windows to reinstall a better driver.

    Hi,

well gparted stops responding when applying change to the SSD…

    same for fdisk and hdparm

I managed to clear the SSD from all the partition using blkdiscard command http://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man8/blkdiscard.8.html

Then Windows installer would boot from usb… but when trying to create a partition I would get an error “Windows cannot be installed on this disk, the disk may fail soon…”

I spent enough time trying to make the ssd work… at least I’m confident it is the only cause of the failure…

I ordered a 240gb ssd from aliexpress for 48 euros … after having opened my tablet with no damage 😉

I had already installed all drivers properly on a Creator fresh installed see my forum post about it (dates of may I think)

Fall Creator update was a breeze and all continues to works.

    post is here : https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=787626&st=120#entry58109330

Clearly if same issue in other OS, it’s not Creator Update…

Maybe you can try to open the keyboard (no screw it seems to be clipped together) and press a little inside if it is just a “false contact” it may solve it…

note that you mostly risk to completely break the keyboard doing so…

You should try under another OS like a live USB linux (or maybe you may check that these key work in BIOS Setup ?)

if they don’t it could be hardware related…

In “Platforms”, Type C is Disabled

    In “Thunderbolt”, => fully disabled

    (and everything is working here)

Did you try long press (20s) on power button ?

    same on reset ?

    power + reset ?

are you sure the button is correctly pressed (nothing moved when closing back the case) ?

And are you sure the pin are properly connecting between the tablet and keyboard ?

I don’t think it is a windows creator driver issue.

Can you enter the bios setup by pressing ESC or DEL or F2 (I don’t remember) … maybe legacy USB keyboard is disabled ?

and try by connecting a full size external USB keyboard. (Setup should work with the external keyboard)

    Hello,

don’t really know what it could be … but maybe you can try the following :

can you clean the copper contacts at the bottom of the tablet and also check the pin of the keyboard ?

does the Caps Lock led lights up when you press it ? and the “lock touchpad” key led ?

do you hear a sound (like a USB peripheral plugged in or out), when plugging or removing the keyboard ?

When unpluggin my CDK09 I see a “PIH peripheral” that disappear from the “keyboard” group in Device Manager (3 “PIH peripheral” displayed instead of 4 – note that I translate from French). (Standard PS/2 is always displayed even when keyboard is off).

    Hello,

And the samsung card was working previously with the cube mix plus ?

A few days ago I bought this micro sd card : Samsung UHS-3 Class10 Micro SDXC Memory Card – 128G RED

    (from here https://www.gearbest.com/memory-cards/pp_718143.html?lkid=10102456)

It is working and I hope the card reader don’t bug on it later !
