    Hi,

Which DC tip do you use for the Teclast F7 ?

I would like to use a 12v power bank, but I don’t know which DC tip to use.

On the Teclast power supply the DC plug seems to be an unusual size (specific to Teclast ?)

    Thanks for your advice.

Have recently purchased a Teclast F7 with 128 Giga  SSD.

Very good laptop except for battery life which is nowhere near to the figures indicated in the review by Chris. The review shows BatteryBar discharge rate of  -3 .420mW and a full runtime of 7.49 hours.

My battery has been recycled 3 times and I get a full runtime of only 3.46 hours with Youtube streaming in one window under Edge. Nothing else running except Norton antivirus.

BatteryBar shows a discharge rate sometimes going up to -18.240mW. See attached BatteryBar screen copy.

Very disappointed with battery life. Has anybody else with 128 Giga SSD Teclast F7 experienced similar battery runtimes ?

Comments would be appreciated as I am considering returning this F7 as it looks as if there is problem.

Many thanks to Chris for his very interesting and useful reviews. Keep up the good work…

    Hello,

This is a feature of Bitdefender antivirus. I had the same problem when I installed Bitdefender on my systems.

You need to disable SSL scan (see attached file)

Received my Chuwi lapbook 14.1 yesterday and was surprised to find it had very poor performance compared to TechTablets review results.
Low Geekbench scores (1172 single and 2794 multi core)
CPU operation at only 796MHz in normal and turbo modes indicated by Passmark performance test
Very slow memory as indicated by CrystalDiskMark
Low battery capacity indicated by BatteryBar

To say the least I am very disappointed as I was expecting results similar to the review results. In fact this system only slightly faster than my very old low cost Toshiba portable.
Would appreciate any comments or suggestions before I send it back to Gearbest as a defective unit.

    Thanks for the coupons Emily.

Today I was able to order a Chuwi notebook 14.1 for 210 euros.

My previous experience with Gearbest was good as they delivered on time.

Hope they will be able to dispatch this order between 26 May and 2 June as indicated on their site (screen copy made in case of problem).

Great review and follow up comments by Chris (and others on the forum) which made me decide to purchase the Chuwi Vi10
Just received my Chuwi Vi10 and it seems a great tablet, but I have a potential problem after a total of about 10 hours operation.
After approx 2 hours of gaming in Android, without any warning there was a faint click and the screen went blank. Temperature of the back about 40°C.
Impossible to reboot and when I pluged in the charhger the LED did not come on. I thought the tablet was dead.
The following day I tried to reboot, nothing happened. I then pressed both volume buttons and the on/off button and the screen suddenly came on and displayed “waiting for xxxx command” (I dont rememeber the xxxx). I again pressed the on/off switch, the screen turned off. Once again I pressed the on/off switch and the tablet booted into android.
Does the Chuwi Vi10 have thermal protection which could explain why the tablet suddenly went dead or should I return the tablet for replacement ?
Has anybody else had a similar problem ?
I also have the problem Chris mentionned, difficulty to restart when using Windows.
Would appreciate any comments regarding above issues.

NEGATIVE experience of Geekbuying.com purchase and service.

Incorrect information on Geekbuying.com (Cube Iwork8 wifi with 5000 mAh battery). Prior to purchase I requested confirmation that it was 5000 mAh and not 3300 mAh battery. Geekbuying confirmed by email that it was a 5000 mAh battery.
I therefore thought Cube had upgraded the battery of the wifi version so I ordered one from Geekbuying.com.
Received with 3300 mAh battery. When I indicated the problem, they checked with Cube, said sorry for the errors and corrected their website but refused to replace tablet received.
Impossible to return tablet received without paying return shipment to China (27 euros). Impossible to use Spanish warehouse for return even though they charged me an extra $2.99 for this service when I ordered.
After many email exchanges without getting anywhere, I mentionned PAYPAL dispute. Their response was that they would also charge me restocking fee, plus any repairs if the tablet was damaged or scratched. As compensation they offered me $10 refund if I kept the tablet.
To end the hassle, I will keep the tablet with limited battery life (about 3 hours of light use). Will try to sell tablet, probably at a loss, but less expensive than return to China.
Obviously I will NOT use Geekbuying.com for the replacement tablet and I would not recommend anyone to buy from them.

Verdict : Even though they have the Paypal buyer protection logo on their website, Geekbuying.com is not to be trusted.

    Hi Chris.
Great work and I really appreciate your tests, particularly for Chuwi VI10 and Teclast Air X98.
Do you have any information on the VOYO Winpad A1s which seems to have very good spécifications

    •Windows 8.1 & Android 4.4 Dual OS
•10.1 inch 1280*800 IPS capacitive touch screen
    •Intel Z3735F Quad Core 1.8GHz
    •2GB DDR3L RAM and 32GB eMMC ROM
•Support TF extend up to 128GB max
    •Support Bluetooth/WIFI/OTG/HDMI function
    •Front 2.0MP + Rear 2.0MP camera
    •Support external 4G/3G module

It is at present at a very good price ($129 at Gearbest).

Would appreciate your comments before I buy a new dual OS tablet

Many thanks and keep up the good work.
