My Hi13’s mic seems to break constantly… and the way to find out if it’s broken is by listening to the speakers rattle and sound like they are under water!

Sounds funny but it’s frustrating at the same time! We get what we paid for.

Restarting usually fixes both audio devices, but sometimes THAT doesn’t even work. sigh 🙁

Not only is the sound bad, but the graphics are bad as well… I get constant flashes and graphical glitches (it’s annoying at night).

I already opened a case with GearBest, we’ll see how they respond to it.

Or what do you all think? Should I return it?

    Hope it goes well.

I also want to do a clean install, but I’m in the middle of moving apartments. So I’ll have to wait later on.

Could you post your results when you’re done?

Since updating to windows 10 “CU” I have been suffering from flickering and flashes all the time.

Now is starting to get annoying, specifically at night. Even with nothing running on the background, and just typing this with the onscreen touch keyboard I’m getting constant flash every couple of minutes or so.

Always watching videos online, there are flashes during video playback.

Not much you can do. but there’re equalizer apps that allow you to boost the sound.

Apps such as APO configurator, I use Peter’s Peace extension.

It does help, but still will recommend headphones for these tablets.

    I know that’s awesome, right.

Unfortunately I don’t know what I did or how it got fixed, because if I did know I could use that info to help the next person. My guess is that Windows did its thing and fixed the broken driver.

    Thanks for all your help!

    Guess what guys!

It’s been a couple of days since I’ve thought about this problem, and in the mean while Windows had a couple minor updates.

So I figure why not check out my Device Manager, and to my Surprise Ambient Light Sensor was working normally!!!

What?! … ok, I’ll take it!

So I won it be reinstalling any time soon.  ??

Well, I think that it’s not a gimmick if you accidentally drop your tablet. Any layer of protection will help keep the screen stay together and not shatter everywhere.

But if you take care of your tablet, you won’t miss the screen protector.

I haven’t used a screen protector in my tablets yet. But if I drop them… I’m sure it’s gonna be messy. 😉

When I have time I’ll do a clean install.

Could you tell me what steps you did to update your tablet to CU?

Did you; did you do prelated your install image with the “windows USB media creator tool” and did a clean install (formatting the eMMc drive)  and then install all the drivers from Chuwi one by one thru the device manager???

    thanks in advanced.

I’ve been using it with out a screen protector for a few months. Haven’t had a scratch yet. But I do keep it in the magnetic cover or the keyboard dock always.

It does look better and feels better IMO.

This extremely generic message could mean there’s a true hardware issue or it could simply mean that there’s a driver problem that Windows isn’t seeing as such but that the hardware is being affected by.

Will reinstalling the OS possibly fix the problem?

I just looked at mine, its the same driver ver i have please check Intel Serial IO I2C Host Controller – 5AB6 the driver i have on that is from 03/02/2017 ver 30.100.1705.5 Theese 2 are linked together, so maybe you need to update the controller driver

Mine is the exact same driver, and seems OK.

Glad to hear that. I might just have to reinstall when I have time, or if some problems comes up with the activation. So far I have quarantined the threat, we will see how it goes.

Thanks you all for your comments, I do feel a little better about Chuwi.

It works, I tested it with a usb/micro sd/ sd hub

Charging thru MicroUSB didn’t work from a Power adapter charging HUB.

Not that I know of. I believe it is saved in the Bios.

So all you need to do when reinstall the OS is to make sure you use the Activated Windows version. Which in my case (and all single boot Chuwi Tablets) is “Windows 10 Home 64 Bit”.
