I’ve got it!

After lot of hour of studying this issue, i have found that the headphone/jack send a Keycode to the system, like pressing a button on a headset. This keycode corresponding at HEADSETHOOK function that will play and stop youtube videos. I have changed this keycode to another!

We must have root access and edit this file located in /system/usr/keylayout/baytrailaudio_Intel_MID_Audio_Jack.kl

from

key 256 HEADSETHOOK WAKE

to

key 256 FOCUS

With this mod, issue fixed!

Next step, for my knowledge and for optimize this solution, is that i want to disable completely the headset recognition, i want to force only the headphone connection, but i don’t know where to start. May be recompile the kernel? how to do it?

I’ve got it!

The “only issue” now is that if the headphone are attached and you press power to switch the screen off, it immediately power on the screen. but it just unplug the headphone to resolve

I have to investigate more to search another better keycode. I have tried MEDIA_NEXT or BUTTON_1, video still play good but with the symbol of PAUSE in the middle of the screen.

Anyway i don’t want to still in offtopic, this is for the remix OS! If you want to help me to resolve on 100% we can go further in another dedicated topic

Today i have tried with both Viper4Android and Beats Audio installer, with same result.

When i plug the headphone it’s completely random the recognition of them. Most of the times recognized as an headset with mic and with the issue. 10% of times recognized as an headphone without issue.

Can you try to plug headphone and use youtube app? On kitkat stock headphone are recognized as an headset (headphone with mic) and cause an irritating issue: stop and play randomly the video.

No no, boot to android and turn off. When turning on, he must press ESC (not del) on the keyboard and follow the procedure.

I have try with boot to windows and turn off but remain on the Chuwi Logo after the selection on the boot manager

I had the same issue.

Prepare a usb key with Windows 8.1/10 (i suggest you to use Rufus).

You must have an usb hub with: usb keyboard and mouse, usb key with operating system.

Power up the system and press ESC on the keyboard, press Boot Manager and then select EFI USB or some like it. After few seconds start the windows setup. For me it took about 1 hour to complete the setup

 

You get drivers and Doubledrivers (the software for restore the drivers) from this thread. Put in the usb key after you prepare the iso with rufus

Edit: MOST IMPORTANT THING: press POWER + VOL.DOWN and select Android boot. Turn off and then start the entire procedure. If you are in the Windows Boot, the procedure will not work 🙂

Yes, the root is necessary.

With any app for file exploring, such as Es File Explorer, you must edit build.prop in /system directory.

Locate “ro.build.version.release=4.4.4” and change to “ro.build.version.release=5.0.0”.

Or if you want to make it easier, install from play store Build Prop Editor and edit with it in a second.

Reboot and that’s it, pretty simple 😉

I have done:

Root the tablet

Install titanium backup

uninstall Google search

 

The problem still there. If i play a video on youtube, after few seconds pause and play itself. Like pressing a pause/play button on headset.

Work only with bluetooth headset 🙁
