Tried. But still <waiting for device> and blinking _. Nothing happens.
Make sure your OS image ID is android. You can select it from bios or just shutdown tablet from android and then boot to dnx fastboot.
January 14, 2016 at 11:10 am #22308Thank you very much! I’ll give that a try. I wondered how to press F7 on my Bluetooth keyboard:) Pity no-one seems to have come up with detecting a swipe gesture instead of a keyboard key for entering boot menu. Sort of defeats the object of a tablet with onscreen keyboard. Now to find a USB keyboard:)
You can get to bios by using onscreen keyboard too. While booting tablet tap few times on bottom of the screen and onscreen keyboard will appear then TRY to press F7 on that tiny onscreen keyboard. I never had to use actual keyboard to get in bios.
This is might bit tricky since that onscreen keyboard is so small if its propably made for ants…
January 13, 2016 at 1:31 pm #22212windows 10 has windows defender built in. I just use that and I think its the best actually
Even Microsoft says no one one should use Defender as only protection tool and that its only “first line of defense”. Virus/Spyware detection is very poor in it and in test it didn’t perform that well. Defender got 0/5 stars in one of the latest AV-tests and PcPro gave it “not recommended”
I personally use F-secure Safe with their VPN service and I’m very happy how it performs. Previously I had Norton but it was bit heavy and I had some issues with it. After that F-secure Safe feels very light, simple to use and it does what it supposed to.
January 12, 2016 at 2:11 pm #22040And once more, Thank You Mirek!
January 9, 2016 at 9:03 am #21640after you install mirek’s rom, by entering dnx mode, holding down volume down while hitting power and running his “click twice here” command, then you can install windows 10 again by doing this: Hi there, sorry I haven’t gotten back to you sooner. The solution to your problem is very simple. I don’t think anyone on these forums knows, lol, because a lot of people are having the acpi bios error issue. Here’s what you do:
- Go into the BIOS
- Arrow over right once
- Select fastboot and enable it
- you will now see a lot of options that were previously unavailable
- select full support under the usb options
- you will now be able to boot up just about any bootable usb, including different versions of windows, linux, etc
- install windows 10 as normal, or use one of the stock images found here.
- easy wasn’t it, lol
Well Daniel said his problem is with android not with windows. If windows works as intended he doesn’t need to install it again. Only flashing android with mirek’s script should work.
January 7, 2016 at 10:14 pm #21513My X98Pro is working correctly. K9C6 Bios 1.05 But there is no way to access to Android. It get freezed at Intel logo(no matter how much time it stays turned on in that situation or whatever I do) I´ve been trying to ask…only 2 or 3 of us have the same problem…but…anybody else have this problem?Everybody is looking for solving Windows problems or deleting android part. I´m interesting in having booth boots And I´m really surprised that there is no more answers or guidelines to follow….maybe I don´t understand the topics…but nobody could give an idea? Someone that could help? I´m really looking for a solution to run Android….is there a way? Thanks in advance for your patience…
Hey, I had same issue and never found any easy solution to fix it without flashing android again.
Head to X98_PRO_android_5.1_mirek190_v2.0 rom and follow mireks guide to install his rom. Its much better than stock rom anyway.
January 7, 2016 at 9:57 pm #21512@Karl H. Try with a different cable or a differnet pc, with the drivers installed correctly, the ROM is installed without any issues… I tried it on an other PC…same Problem. I have here an X98 Air iii, that is recognized in dnx mode. so i don’t think it is the cable or the PC. Have someone other solution for my Problem?
Mario, did you use windows last on tablet? If so boot into android and shut it down from there. Other option is to go to BIOS and check that your OS image ID is android. You can enable DNX mode too same time and it boots right to dnx. Now it should be recognized if all drivers are installed.
Hope that helps.
December 28, 2015 at 1:44 pm #20192Device has to be shutdown from android side before you go to dnx fastboot else it wont be rocognized in windows if you turn tablet down from windows side it wont be detected by your pc. If this is not possible you can go to bios and select os image ID as android and enable dnx then just save and exit.
December 28, 2015 at 1:08 pm #20186Found my problem. I can only boot into DNX Fastboot Mode and not DNX Mode. So if i boot with only volume- i boot in DNX Fastboot Mode… i i press vol+ & – i boot in the same mode. So i cannot flash anything?
DnX fastboot is right one and seems you can get there. Does your pc recognize your tablet? If not try to turn tablet down from android side and then go to DNX fastboot. And you previous post you said you clicked flash bat which doesn’t sound like its right file, you should use mirek’s flashing tool FLASHER_1.1.
December 17, 2015 at 4:46 pm #18977Mirek thank you! Your rom and flash tool made my device usefull again.
Had issues to get my tablet detected by pc and took me while to find out I had to change OS image id thing from bios to android. After that it everything worked like a charm.
November 4, 2015 at 3:44 pm #14931Hi Chris and all, I got my X98 Pro a few days ago, It was everything ok until I got a notification while using Android to update the OS which I did but after that Android OS doesn’t work anymore. I tried to follow step by step what Robert explained and also followed your video, Chris, by installing iSocUSB Driver IntelAndroidDriver PhoneFlashTool but when I entered the tablet in DNX Fastboot Mode and then open Phone Flash Tool 5.3.2.0 but I could never get the chance to see the tablet in the device listing. I’ve tried in different laptops but no luck so far. Could someone please help me or tell me what am I doing wrong as I want to recover the Android OS to enjoy the Dual Boot. Many thanks in advanced.
I have same issue.
Also since its only android not working can I select recover or update in PhoneFlashTool?
Thank You.
