    I don’t think it’s that bad, considering how cheap it was.
    I’m giving it a new try with japanese cell batteries and see what happens. If I can’t sort it out with those, I’ll pass this to my mother, who only uses her computer at home, so she does not really even need batteries 😀

    Well, my replacement batteries from AliExpress started to leak, they would neither recharge anymore nor power the ezbook at all.
    I’ll need to find new replacement batteries, but this time I don’t want any chinese crap cell, I’ll look for japanese cells. Anyone’s got any source? Thank you

    Don’t use the restore function.

    Go to Microsoft website, download the installation tool and use that.

    I’ve done it this way and now the laptop works way better than before.

    I’ve reinstalled Windows 10 last week.

    Everything went smooth. Didn’t even need to use the backup of the drivers.

    Now the EZBook is way more responsive. Had I known the results would be these I would have reinstalled months ago.

    Thank you.
    Is the doubledriver the only one that’s needed? I see in the downloads section that there are additional drivers listed (wifi and BT).

    Vendor is useless, they don’t reply and I suspect they don’t even know what we would be talking about.

    Well, if you know it better than you will be on your own cause it doesn’t make sense to help. […].

    I said “vendor” not “manufacturer”. Your argument is invalid.

    Just FYI, I’ve installed Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon edition on my EzBook 3 Pro, yesterday and everything looks in order and working. No need to tinkle with any strange setup, just burn the iso on the USB pen and install.

    Great. When and where did you buy it, and what is the firmware/BIOS version? Btw, Cinnamon is a really nice desktop but Xfce or Mate should run a little faster – important on the Celeron N3450

    I’ve bought it on Gearbest at the end of August 2018. Not sure about the Bios version (I will check tomorrow) but it’s a locked one.

    The latest Cinnamon runs very fast on the N3450 actually. Of course not as fast as Xfce but it is as smooth as it should be. Since I really love it, I don’t feel the need for a faster desktop as of now. Try it and see for yourself!!

    EDIT: I have BIOS 02.01.18 on my ezBook. Hope this helps.

    Well, as you say: to each his own.

    Still this has nothing to do with the fact that Windows updates fail to install. 😀

    Yeah, I had already read about your approach but I believe it to be a little too radical in my opinion.

    I would have totally agreed with you 20 years ago, when most personal computers would never see a network in their entire life. But today, with computers connected to the internet 24/7, I think that there are too many exploits out there that will target a non-updated system. I understand your point of view but I still think that security updates must be installed.

    I come from more than 12 years of almost exclusive use of Linux, so I am not used to the Windows environment anymore. My old desktop PC with Win7 still runs great, never really had a problem with it, and I kind of hoped that Windows 10 would be at least as stable as Win7. But after a couple of months using it on the Ezbook I find it way worse than its predecessor, and very frustrating, especially when it comes to updates.

    Too bad that I can’t downgrade the Ezbook to Windows 7.

    @edoardo: here is my AutoHotKey script, edit as per your preference:

    !,:: Send, <
    !ù:: Send, >
    !.:: Send, >
    +F12:: Send, ^v
    ^Up:: Send {PgUp}
    ^Down:: Send {PgDn}
    ^!Up:: Send {Home}
    ^!Down:: Send {End}
    ^!Left:: Send {Home}
    ^!Right:: Send {End}

    I guess at Jumper they think HTML is not used throughout all non-English speaking Europe.

    My Italian keyboard (with no “ù”, remember) does not have the < and > buttons either. They are printed in blue on the N and M keys, but they don’t work. Had to remap them with AutoHotKey as well.

    Hi Tom.

    This is what the whole thread is about.

    Just read it from the beginning and you will find all the answers to your questions… 😉

    I have tried them all. Not working. I think Jumper got something wrong.

    I have solved remapping those keys with AutoHotKey, although it’s not the optimal solution.
