I would love to review it. I have emailed the Microsoft press agency that handles review units. But no reply from them yet looks doubtful. Knote 5 unboxing hands-on video should be coming soon.
Pity problem is that most of the big youtube reviewers will do a 4min video and cover very little in terms of thermals, gaming and in depth performance metrics.
July 11, 2018 at 6:09 am #144454I think that they are trying to compete with chinese brand for that price… But if some chinese manufacture made a tablet with same specs or just Alldocube add ssd disk to their knote5, the Surface Go will not be the competitioner…
The Knot5 is running a Celeron N4100 Gemini Lake rather than the more interesting I feel Pentium 4415y based on Kaby Lake its similar to the Core m3 7Y30.
Its similar kinda to the Mix Plus 2 but with a better screen and hopefully better stock cooling
September 17, 2017 at 9:24 am #72241If anyone would like me to test out a game, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
What have you got working so far? Was thinking of making a Google doc with all the playable games on it.
September 17, 2017 at 9:22 am #72240Can you test wifi range ? I mean speed near router and speeds behind some walls My book speed was 100% near router and 20% behind 2 walls very bad
Okay so I have some experience with this.
I do alot of traveling for my work so spend alot of time in motel rooms with poor wifi long story short its slightly worse than my Acer Aspire v17 Nitro gaming laptop. Its not bad at all I use it lots around the house.
edit this is downloading with my router (802.11n) a few rooms away its around the best I get out of my VDSL connection.

September 9, 2017 at 1:50 am #71846Hell I’m bored at work here is how to respin your own isos on a ubuntu computer or virtual machine : Get all the info here : http://linuxiumcomau.blogspot.com/ 1/ Install a few packages :
sudo apt-get install -y squashfs-tools xorriso2/ Download the ubuntu flavor iso you want to respin. 3/ In the same folder download isorespin.sh from here : https://goo.gl/ZnUd6H 4/ Then Run :sudo bash isorespin.sh -i #ISO PATH# --apollo -u5/ There will be a new ISO generated. You can then copy it to your USB key using dd (replace sdX with your USB drive).sudo dd if=#NEW ISO PATH# of=/dev/sdX bs=4MThat’s it.Thanks for the effort you put into that sadly I do not have any pc running linux right now
September 8, 2017 at 12:39 pm #71799Thanks Chris I’ll try another Manjaro release. In the evening I did manage to boot a custom Xubuntu 17.04 I created using the awsome isorespin.sh tool. So linux definitively boots on the jumper 3 pro V4. Sound and wifi were working. Firefox seemed a bit laggy. I did not try to install Ubuntu as I have no SSD yet. If someone really needs the xubuntu image I can share it. I think Linux Arch or Manjaro is definetively doable. isorespin.sh uses rEFInd to boot ubuntu or windows. That’s probably something to look into. I’ve also noticed that the BIOS gets bugguy if you select “Intel Linux” as your booting OS : the screen has no backlight and the main keyboard is not recognized by the bios. I had to plug a USB cable and turn of the lights to switch back to “Windows”. So except if a bios update is released, stay on the “windows” OS selection setting and use rEFInd.
If you could share that it would be fantastic. If you need a server to upload it to I can make you an owncloud account on my VPS
September 8, 2017 at 4:19 am #71764I have been able to boot and install solusos but I get this after I installed it

Hopefully you are correct, my order shipped out on the Aug 27, 2017.
Wouldn’t mind a faster Emmc but I guess m.2 drives are cheap enough any particular well priced brands people are going for?
