My Teclast X98 Plus review is now online. This new 9.7″ X5 Z8300 + 4GB Ram Retina tablet from Teclast, isn’t the most powerful when it comes to gaming. But it makes up for this delivering the best battery I’ve seen to date in a Chinese tablet. It’s possible to browse the web and watch movies for more than 8 hours o...[Read More]
Teclast have released a new bios update for the X98 Plus, I discovered it on the Official Forums here. No idea on what it fixes, something to do with slowness bug? Maybe slow wifi, although I haven’t experianced this myself. The update tool is in Chinese, but I figured out how to use it using google translate. When you come to a scr...[Read More]
Today I uploaded the below video. Just covering the speed a little of the X98 Plus, with some benchmarks, battery life and a look at Asphalt 8 Airbourne. And the thermals. So far the good: Battery life, screen, and thermals. The performance is unimpressive, it almost feels as if Teclast’s engineers have limited the turbo duration to...[Read More]
DHL finally came through today, their customs dept stopped messing about with my X98 Plus and delivered it. Heres the unboxing and hands-on video. (I’ll have more in the next few days) As you can see in the video, the build is the same as the X98 Air III. The new square edge metal unibody housing. First impressions: eMMC is a Toshib...[Read More]
The Teclast X98 Plus is the little brother of the X98 Pro I recently reviewed. It retains the 4GB of Ram, but the X5 Z8500 (2.24Ghz boost) is replaced with a X5 Z8300 (1.84Ghz boost) The Gen8 Intel HD graphics is also clocked 100Mhz lower over the X98 Pro. So it’s going to be a little slower for sure, but it’s cheaper at $199 ...[Read More]
The latest 9.7″ tablet from Teclast the X98 Plus, is now listed on Taoboa/Tmall.com with 4GB of Ram, 64GB eMMC and an Atom X5 Z8300 with a boost of 1.84Ghz. Other specs are the same as the X98 Air series, MicroSD card slot, Wireless A/G/N and BT 4.0, the battery is the same too, 8000mAH. Good for 4, maybe 5 hours on the Z8300? The p...[Read More]
Teclast has announced on Weibo yet another 9.7″ Retina tablet. It features the slightly slower X5 Z8300 Cherry Trail than the X98 Pro. No other specs were confirmed, OS or price but it does have the new Teclast Air III unibody casing. My rough guess is it will cost around $170-$180 USD, if the X98 Pro is now $219 it’s got to b...[Read More]
