WillemW replied to the topic CHUWI LapBook Pro 8GB – I need a way to reset BIOS settings to factory defaults in the forum Chuwi LapBook Series 6 years, 9 months ago
I have the same problem. Changed ‘OS select’ to ‘Linux’. Now the screen stays black after booting up.
I suspect the BIOS setting(s) can still be reset by “blind-typing” on the keyboard. See for example https://techtablets.com/forum/topic/lapbook-air-uefibios-sequence-to-restore-defaults/#post-141645.

In addition to former message, I cannot make a connection with the pc. The tablet is getting charged, but that is it. What settings do I overlook? In developers I have USB error-debug on and OEM unlock on. What else?
I appreciate any help. Many thanks.

Topicstarter could easily check that with a M.2 SATA to USB device and with CrystalDiskInfo.
I got rid of the stock SSD and got a 1tb mx500 from crucial.

Ok, btw, are you using Google Play and Android apps? My problem is, that rather instead of freezing, the display just goes black with only mouse pointer remaining.

Kontor replied to the topic Cube i9: How to flash and recover a failed bios flash or bricked bios in the forum Cube i9 Forum 6 years, 10 months ago
Hello
I’ve tried to flash the Bios on my bricked Cube i9, but every time when I connect the clip it doesn’t detect the bios chip correctly. I’ve tried it many times but no success. I have driver installed and connect all things and pins like in Chris Tutorial. Whats wrong with that?
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks

Actually any distro with the v5.3 kernel can be made working including Lubuntu v19.10 and also Manjaro. It’s also not that difficult after you know how:
- Prepare your favorite distro on a USB stick and boot from it.
- Once the live environment has finished loading activate the touchpad by opening a terminal (press ctrl+alt+T) and type
sudo…

I used the swtpm file and the official recovery image eve (because there are pixelbooks using the same m3 processor). Also I am booting from rEFIned. I followed this tutorial after creating the image the normal way: https://github.com/imperador/chromefy/blob/master/lab/DualBoot.md

with the Converter 8 is still a problem, while it is charging the touch screen doesn’t work well, but without charging that’s is fine.
edit : after many searchs, it seems to be a bad ground on the usb connector.

Good info/work. I would try Lubuntu v19.10. I think it’s has a pretty recent kernel and it will prob run the fastest (lightest) of all the others with the Lxqt desktop.

Thanks for the feedback, that’s great news!
I’d personally would like to run something really light like Debian or Lubuntu, but dunno how WiFi could be made to work if it isn’t out of the box.

I run it from my SSD with multiboot, I have a plenty of other OS. Maybe I should try to use Cloudready instead.
btw, have you used also different image or swtpm?

I also wanted to install Linux on my EZbook 2 (with the Z8300 CPU) and here are my findings:
Sound works on almost every distro out of the box.
Touchpad works on almost every distro if you disable hid_multitouch with
sudo modprobe -r hid_multitouch
Wifi ONLY works with Ubuntu Budgie if you rename brcmfmac43430a0-sdio.jumper-ezpad-mini3.txt to…[Read more]
