    <hr />

    Hi,

    I managed to install a clean copy of Win 10 via a bootable USB, downloaded the driver pack and installed the drivers one by one, however the device manager status reports that they are waiting for a start.

    Consequently none of the key drivers such as the wifi, touchscreen and acelerometer are working.

    Have I missed a process step here, can anybody help me solve this problem?

    Many thanks

    Thanks, and I look forward to your update!  In the meantime, a couple of follow-up question:

    1. Did you get the dual-boot version of hi12, or the original single OS?
    2.  Did you update the bios (to fix wifi, for example?), and if so, what’s your current bios version?
    3.  Did you run ubuntu etc via live usb or did you actually install them on the emmc?  And did you use UEFI boot or legacy boot?
    4.  What kind of battery life did you get in ubuntu?

      THANKS!

    I tried connecting a usb hub and installing the WIN10 iso (downloaded) but that doesn’t work either the tablet needs a driver to continue… but what driver?

    I downloaded all TBOOK 10 drivers, but they don’t solve my problem…

    wo can help me to get windows back on this thing…

    Did you turn your bluetooth on? Using it will kill your internet speed. Get a USB WiFi adapter.

    I’ve tested it with my USB3 ethernet hub (Unitek Y-3059).

    It works out-of-the-box with Windows, doesn’t with Android.

    I haven’t researched if you can activate it in Android somehow, but I remember about an article about a year ago which addressed this on Android phones using an USB-OtG adapter to connect the ethernet adapter. There was the conclusion that on some Android phones it did work and on some it didn’t. Probably because lacking the appropriate drivers. If so, it may be possible to install these manually to get it working on Android aswell ?

    I won’t research this any further myself, because ethernet in Windows suffices for me as a backup for bad or no wifi signal.

    Interesting to hear, that you too encounter sudden reboots. Did I miss anything while reading through this thread: How do you do this battery-recalibrations? Do I get you right, you now have a 2.5 day sleep mode battery life? Windows I assume, as there is no sleep mode in android?

    By sleep mode (in android) I just meant to shut the screen by just quick-pressing the power button. Sorry, I don’t know if there is another term to describe that. The tablet is still ON and receive notifications and such. If I let it like that, it can lasts for approximatively 2.5 days (WiFi On, bluetooth, localization and notifications from most battery-draining apps like Facebook Off). But the battery-discharge pattern is irregular as it discharges steadily from 100 to 21 % and then stay at 21 % for a long time. Then drops  quickly and shut down. I didn’t used the tablet during this time at all, I just put it aside and waited till the battery was empty.
    I didn’t try Windows much, but before the calibration the battery dropped quite quickly and windows could not determine the time left on battery, probably because the battery wasn’t calibrated and the measure wasn’t accurate. I should look this up again.

    To calibrate the battery, I was in Android mode. I waited as the tablet shuts down completly and tried several time to power it ON to be sure there was no battery left. Then I put a Samsung quick-charge 2.0 USB charger (one of a Galaxy Note 4, I didn’t trust the Teclast charger much in term of voltage steadiness), and switched on the tablet to let it charges with Android launched. It appears that the shut down of the tablet, when the battery was empty, was unexpected because Android made an “application optimization” process before starting up, the same you have when you put a fresh ROM and boot for the first time.
    The USB charger was quite hot, more than when it charges my Note 4…
    When the charge hit 100 %, I unplugged the charger, switch Off the tablet, and put the charger back in, and it keeped charging for about 30 mins with the tablet Off (you could see the red LED on). I switched On and Off the tablet and put the charger in again. There goes my calibration. Since then, the battery seems to last longer but as I said, the discharge pattern is still irregular.

    No, it only has wifi.

    You could use a “usb ethernet adapter”, or maybe better a “usb 3.0 ethernet adapter” if you don’t bother using the usb 3.0 slot.

    Thank you your answer,

    I tested SD cards only with Windows 10. Onda Obook 10 with same Intel SOC works with USB 3.0 speed.

    My Adata 64GB much more faster with Onda Obook 10 (see attachment)

    I Work 10 and Chuwi Hi 8 pro  works only with 2.0 USB speed.

    (But Obook 10 has horrible/ueless internal Wifi: full metal house -> Faraday  cage law)

    It is strange, because iWork and Chuwi Hi8 Pro also have USB 3.0 controller. It should be faster.

    It’s fact average user will not recognize the speed difference.

    Ready to make the plunge and purchase one of these, but, is it possible to connect it to a router via RJ45 via micro usb-dongle? I use a fast ethernet connection on my Samsung Pro 8.4 and have wifi automatically disabled. Is that an option here? Please let me know.

    Thanks

    I have used the HiBook keyboard to connect the USB stick any for typing as well.
    My WiFi throughput is now much better than before.

    OK, I installed on a second partition  Remix OS for PC (original release as well the hacked version) and also Phoenix OS. I was NOT able to:

    1. use wifi
    2. use sound
    3. connect my tv/monitor with hdmi (seems a common problem with linuxes)
    4. use touch screen

    Is not possible also to boot from usb – that means, no linux flavor could be installed. Because the touch screen is not working, it is not possible to use it in dual boot as tablet (you should have as default win 10 and no menu to choose from…) – if no keyboard or mouse when boot !

    I run internet using a usb-ethernet cable.

    I had problems with the sound and microphone in win 10, solved by installing and removing the drivers many  times…

    This is first tablet, so no idea if is good one or not comparing with other brands…

    I think there’s no way around it using an actual bluetooth keyboard as it can only be paired to one device at a time unless it’s a wifi keyboard with a usb dongle as Richard suggests.

    Today I ordered a new plate Hibook. I get it in 10 days. Are the new plates to fix bugs?
    -Keyboard problem in Windows 10
    -Hibook USB port power issue, cannot run 2.5″ external hdd’s
    -Hibook 10.1 no screen | blank screen
    -USB Type-C port offers no real benefit (it is USB 2.0)

    – Problem with Wifi

    Thank you for ansver.

    Be careful before any manipulation, i’m not responsable for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in theses files before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.

    Hi, it’s a little tutorial of my own experience to restore both systems on Chuwi Hi10 DualOS :

    You need :

    A USB Key (prefer USB 3)

    A USB Keyboard and Mouse (I’m Using a Logitech K400R) (bluetooth keyboard not working !)

    A Windows 10 x64 ISO extracted ( i’ve installed the pro version)

    Time.

    First, download all archives (password archive is “osremix.com”) :

    Bios => http://vavar60.online.fr/share/tablet/chuwi_hi10/bios_chuwi_Hi10-DualOS_E4D6_C106_E0511.224.7z

    Android => http://vavar60.online.fr/share/tablet/chuwi_hi10/android_5.1_stock_chuwi_Hi10-DualOS-CWI515-Q64G421605XXXXX.7z

    Windows 10 =>http://vavar60.online.fr/share/tablet/chuwi_hi10/efi-files+drivers_chuwi_Hi10-DualOS-CWI515-Q64G421605XXXXX.7z

    First, you probably need (i’ve buy a DualOS tablet out of the box so i’ve not tested flash the bios) flash the BIOS, it’s probably working well on same series of me (i have a CWI515 model, with Q64G4221605XXXXX serial), extract the files for flashing bios on USB Key formated in Fat32, and go to the UEFI/BIOS, and launch UEFI SHELL, the startup.nsh will be launched, and bios flashed.

    After that, you need to extract the Android Archive first, on a USB key formated to Fat32, it’s gonna erase all table partition, so do a backup of windows if you need it, before, and go to the UEFI/BIOS, launch UEFI SHELL, the startup.nsh gonna launch a script for flash all partition/recovery/system/data, and android system reboot somes times, it’s normal (first with chuwi logo, and the Android recovery logo, and finally normal start).

    At this point, you can choose only Android when you start the tablet (press “Vol +”).

    After that you need to extract the Windows 10 archive, and replace every file you have, on the same directory on your Windows 10 USB Key, if you don’t and boot directly Windows 10, you gonna have a ACPI BIOS error and freeze during install. After that, you just need to boot on your USB key on UEFI/BIOS. 🙂

    Installation of Windows is a little long time, but after somes reboot, he purpose you to configure Serial, options, user account… 😉

    At this point, when Windows is fully started, you have no touschscreen/sound/wifi/bluetooth/GPU acceleration… But USB work.

    Just go on your peripheral manager, and install the drivers missing one by one (juste indicate the directory of the drivers folder.), do a full Windows Update (otherwise, settings for lightscreen don’t working), when the Switcher come, press “Vol -) and voilà ! =D

    Enjoy ! 🙂

    Ps : sorry for my english…

    Has anbody has flashed this WiFi fix BIOS. Anbody used the latest Hi Book Bios (wifi) via afuwin(exe) tool – this is total diferrent than the initial HiBook BIOS via USB Flash Drive. The WiFi signal/troughput is rather poor. I hoped that Chuwi is a better than the Teclast TBook 10.

    I was going to flash it as soon as I got my HiBook, but then I read all these complaints AND my wifi works fine even with the older version.  So I’m not going to even try unless I have a better reason.
