In reply to: drivers for EZPad 6 PRO
Have I understood it right? you want to reinstall windows/do a fresh install? If you have a working tochscreen you can backup the currently in use drivers with a windows inbuils system command by opening cmd (Command prompt) with administrative priviledged and use “DISM /online /export-driver /destination:C:\path\to\folder” (see https://pureinfotech.com/backup-drivers-dism-command-line-windows-10/) My drivers should work for you in theory, but I would still backup and use your drivers for the fresh install. One thing to keep in mind is that Windows might only output an image over the microhdmi and not to the touchscreen when there is no driver installed and my tablet also crashed without the right realtek wifi driver(the one microsoft supplies reboots the tablet after 1minute or so).
Doesn’t work, I did a full backup as you described already. First thing I tried when I got it. I used to do alot of Linx Vision fresh iso’s with full touch support. I dump all backed up drivers into the image, so it can’t moan there is drivers missing. I do have a HDMI sound driver issue at the moment. Windows updated main driver and left the OED driver, it now complains. It cant start driver. After reading up, it appears both drivers are part and parcel and need to be updated together. However no matter what I did, it would not work. I had to disable it in Device manager.
With jumper, its odd. Backed up drivers don’t work, you get the ghosting effect others have mentioned. So there must be some type of configuration done when full driver package first installs. As we are only backing up INF, Im guessing its only part of the driver. Lynx used to have a GT file in the Windows folder.
I also found that a fresh install caused problems with WiFi. It appears the WiFi is attached to the USB hub. I used driver updater to grab all the latest drivers and once it installed the usb controller drivers, all devices attached to that hub were screwed. Even going back to original driver didn’t help, as it had already changed alot of devices to something else. So only option I had, was to go back to my original bloated install and update to lastest version from there. This time avoiding the USB driver and touchscreen update.
I did ask jumper directly for drivers, as I can’t get them from that stupid site the put them on and they completely ignored me. I got more help from the reseller I bought it from.

Are you sure Realtek 8723bu is the correct wifi device?
What shows if you run this in a terminal:
$ usb-devices | grep -B1 RealtekTo build:
sudo apt-get install gcc build-essential linux-headers-generic linux-headers-$(uname -r)sudo apt-get install gitgit clone https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8723bu.gitcd rtl8723bu make sudo make install sudo modprobe -v 8723buJanuary 8, 2019 at 11:00 pm #149903In reply to: F7 keeps freezing

Well in any event it’s great that Arch Linux is now running fairly well on this relatively inexpensive notebook. So what are the things that do NOT work?
Bluetooth? Battery gauge? Brightness change? Audio volume change? Suspend/Hibernate? etc.
Re your ap6212 problem see this if you didn’t already: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1007163/ubuntu-16-04-how-do-i-logically-troubleshoot-ap6212-6255-broadcom-wireless-blu
That guy Jeremy in the thread is a Wireless debugging guru. I see him on both the Ubuntu and LinuxMint discussion forums helping tons of people figure out their WiFi problems. Another thing you could try just to debug the problem is installing say Manjaro onto a USB drive and boot from that, so not touch your existing Arch config, and seek help on the Manjaro forum. Some great guys there too.December 11, 2018 at 5:44 pm #149005In reply to: Accessing router through mobile or tablet
You could, in case they blocked access with wifi, use an usb to etherent adapert which you should be able to connect to most mobile phones with an usb otg cable. Often you need to give yourself (in this case the mobile phone) an static ip, many routers have their config ip printerd on the underside or in the manual, if it is e.g.: 192.168.2.1 then if you don’t get an network address automatically with DHCP you need to give yourself another ip in the same network, so 192.168.2.X wher X not equals 0,1 or 255.
So to conclude blocked wifi config will likely be your greatest difficulty, everything else should be perfectly fine with a mobile device.

This is easy:
*Boot into Windows, hold shift and restart (keep holding shift)
*A windows boot menu (not BIOS) shows up (I failed the first time so try again if you can see it)
*Select the USB device and boot
With Ubuntu 16.04 (Try before install)
*Wifi works (I connected 5GHz hotspot)
*Touch works
*Audio doesn’t seem to work
*Screen is in portrait mode
On Ubuntu 18.04 (Try before install)
As 16.04 apart from that the screen is upside down and I also tested that Bluetooth can search for devices.

Also, you can use a USB3.0-to-Ethernet adapter to get wired networking or a USB-WiFi adapter for wireless.
Both are cheap and the drivers are usually built into Ubuntu, Manjaro, Mint, etc.
Check on the user forums for Ubuntu or other which one works the best as there are MANY different manufacturers of these.Pluggable USB 3.0 ethernet adapter. Drivers should be already built into Linux.
TP-Link TL WN725N 150Mbps WiFi. Drivers should be already built into Linux.
TP-Link TL WN823N V2 (w/Realtek RTL8192EU) 300Mbps WiFi. Drivers may have to be built/compiled and installed.November 12, 2018 at 9:30 am #148091In reply to: Linux on EZPad 5S
Hi,
can’t remember. I don’t have this device anymore.
Wifi wasn’t working, I’ve used a USB wifi device.
Many things were missing, I don’t know how it is now, specially with the iso respin from linuxium.
But if things on this device are (not) working in the same way, it’s not really usable with linux.I made that for fun.

Omg, I just redid the thermal paste. It was really bad. It looks like changing the SSD will be no problem. But now the Intel WiFi card is not detected. There is an Unknown USB Device error. This is very annoying.

It could be possible it died, boot a linus USB image and see if Wifi works. If it doesn’t that would confirm it’s (sadly) dead.

I would try first Linux Mint 19 XFCE desktop. https://linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=258
Hello , thanks for reply ! U just install Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon . Version XFCE will work better? Now i don’t have : working wifi , no sound, no touchscreen working, no brightness .. etc How to find and install drivers for it ?
[edit:] I saw someone got the touchscreen working on the Teclast X80 Pro, so maybe it’s possible. You might have to try lots of different distro’s and kernel versions.
If you don’t get an answer here the logical place to ask is the LinuxMint forums and/or Ubuntu forums . Or try Manjaro XFCE instead of Mint. I think you’ll need a lot of luck to get the touchscreen working. XFCE desktop is recommended only because it runs faster on a less powerful machine. Also Lubuntu or Antix Linux distro’s are faster and light (require/use less RAM). Antix is easy to try because it can be run completely from a USB drive (with data persistence if you configure it). But these are not as polished and easy to use as Mint and Manjaro in my opinion. On a low powered device I think it’s worth it to try to get Lubuntu or Antix working.October 2, 2018 at 9:44 am #147314Yes, no problem about that. You choose between batteries I posted before.
OK. I hope they will improve the Ezbook’s battery time. Right now I can’t make it last more than 4 hours, with brightness 25% and wifi off (I am using a USB-Ethernet adapter). Also, nobody answered to this question… Do you think these things would work? 20pcs/50pcs/100pcs Seal Heat Shrink Butt Wire Connectors Terminals Solder Sleeve Waterproof https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/c58I90k1 Thanks
Two connection points are required soldering (green circles), so the stuff you would like to buy cannot help

ParticipantHello,
for some special use cases I am not allowed to connect via WiFi, but must connect to the internet by cable also.
Therefore I can only buy tablets that are compatible with standard USB to Ethernet adapters.
This used to be standard 4 years ago, but it seems that many tablets nowadays do not have this feature.
Could anybody advise me of a manufacturer that still includes this feature as a standard in his tablets?
I am looking mainly for 10 inch tablets like Teclast M20, Chuwi Hipad 27 etc. around 100-200$.
Thanks for your help!
