I’m looking to get a tablet from GearBest that’s on sale and I plan on using their expedited shipping method since it’s only costs $2 more however, I’m unsure about shipping insurance not because I don’t want to pay it but because I would like them to mark the down the value of the package for lower customs fees and taxes into Canada.
After reading all of this whole thread, is it advised to get shipping insurance since none of these fellow posters mentioned anything about getting shipping insurance with their orders…
March 16, 2016 at 10:43 am #29609So my first order on Gearbest was the Cube i7 Stylus. First, I ordered via China, but a few hours later I noticed the EU version was discounted too. They quickly refunded my first order. Then I ordered the EU version.
It took 10 days to arrive, and the tracking had a suspicious 7 day gap in it. When it arrived, I noticed someone tampered with the tablet. I don’t know, maybe I’m a bit paranoid. Maybe they just installed some apps. Is that normal? Looking forward to a reply.

Here is Canada we have a forum called Red Flag Deals that posts all the best deals online that ships from within Canada or to Canada, feedback on GearBest is just about average…but seems like no one (or very few) has gotten scammed by GearBest on Red Flag Deals just shipping takes very long if not using Royal Post or Expedited method.
If I will be placing my order with GearBest, I will likely be using the Expedited shipping method with insurance.
March 16, 2016 at 10:27 pm #29700Hey Guys,
I just ordered a tablet on GearBest. The page said: Expected Shipping: 3 – 5 Days … now it says: 10 – 15 Days.
Do you think I should cancel the order and make a paypal dispute because they didnt hold the expected shipping time, if they still didnt ship in 2 weeks?
March 17, 2016 at 3:39 pm #29796I would be very careful about opening a dispute. PayPal only allows one dispute per trasaction. I did exactly what you are asking, then once gearbest shipped my tablet I closed the dispute. When the tablet arrived about 30 days later the display was smashed and I couldn’t reopen the dispute. Fortunately, my PayPal account was backed by a credit card and I was able to dispute the charge through VISA. I did eventually get my money back.
March 17, 2016 at 3:42 pm #29797I would definitely recommend insurance. My tablet arrived with a smashed display. When I ordered it, I was looking for an option to include insurance and expedited shipping, but for some reason the website wasn’t letting me choose those options.
March 17, 2016 at 3:58 pm #29798I would simply not use Gearpest. I have ordered from them about 10 times and only twice has the order actually been sent. Takes about 1 month to arrive (to UK) unless you use DHL and pay about 20% extra tax. Banggood is SO much better in my experience. Fast dispatch, much quicker delivery, using airmail, and if Gearpest has a deal on, then it is very unlikely that you will ever get your product until all the other sellers have dropped their prices too. Gearpest just hold you money ransom until they can find your product themselves cheap enough to sell it to you at the advertised price but still so they can make a profit. Until that happens the product will be “temporary out of stock” or your order will “be processed” or any other lame excuse Gearpest will make up.

I took the Priority Direct Mail + Shipping insurance. I hope they´ll ship it within the next week. If they do and everything works out I still wouldnt order there again as I think the risk is too high to have a lot of problems getting your money back, if a problem occurs.
March 29, 2016 at 7:36 am #31192Ordered a X98 PLus case from them the 23’th March. Tracking number it’s still shown as ” Item data received” from the courier. I believe that it hasn’t been picked up yet. I do hope it’s only bad information from courier but soon one week has passed.
March 30, 2016 at 6:24 pm #31423I placed an order for a Chuwi Hi12 it’s been weeks and I just chased them up about when this will ship, received a message back that my order is going to be cancelled and refunded. They still have these for sale…. Very annoyed with the muck around.
If they don’t have them they shouldn’t be selling them. Anti else purchased one?
April 8, 2016 at 10:52 am #32652Order a Z68 Tv Box from Gearbest on 11/03/2016 and made payment, after a 2 days later they gave me a Tracking no. which had no details after 2 weeks. They reply with a picture of the parcel saying its already been shipped out & was asked to be patience. Than on the 03/04/2016, 3 weeks later I got an email saying my order has to be repack and is shipping out with a new Tracking no. The earlier Tracking I was given must be false/invalid even with a picture showing the parcel and now they just give me a lame excuse thinking I must have been desperate. With the new Tracking no until now 5 days later, I’m still waiting for the details and when ask about that again reply that I’ve to be patience. Even when I ask to cancel order & refund me my payment, no respond.
April 9, 2016 at 10:05 am #32774Same thing happened to me for the hi12. Ordered a teclast x3 instead. After reading everyone’s comments, sounds like I just did something very stupid. I’ll find out in a few weeks/months
April 17, 2016 at 5:35 pm #33971I dont think I would order from gearbest again, order something, never got it, contacted them after the 25 days. They said we will be responsible for your order, it never came after waiting 60 days, now they offer me to pay $46 shipping or credit, when I had paid $93 initially. Just filed a claim with paypal.
April 17, 2016 at 6:31 pm #33985@Dean If you paid with Paypal, you complain to Paypal and they will reimburse you. Otherwise, I think that there are no ways to constrain them.
Best regards,
Patrick
April 18, 2016 at 4:04 am #34009Did that, gearbest is only offering me $30 as I didnt get insurance. I do not accept that, should I just escalate to paypal?
