Does anyone get insurance?
April 18, 2016 at 7:20 am #34026@Dean I Got the same problem, see http://bellot.asia it it works.
The only way for you is to use paypal, you complain that you have not received your parcel. Then take care : gearbest will ask you to close your Paypal dispute but don’t do it until you really get your money back.
April 19, 2016 at 5:15 am #34207Thanks for your reply, they didn’t ask me to close it yet they just offered re-ship and I pay $40 or they credit me $30. I just want a full refund and done with them.
My question is do I just escalate to paypal and they will return my money in good faith?
April 19, 2016 at 7:35 am #34218@Dean You have a delay in Paypal before you escalate. Gearbest will propose you anything (for instance to repay a part of you have already paid) but at the end of the delay, they will reimburse you. Keep a copy of the web page they used for communicating. Best regards, Patrick.
April 20, 2016 at 4:46 am #34355@patrick-bellot You keep putting @Dean, in your reply, that is not me. I can escalate now if I want there is no delay. I have read the pages you linked to and searched online.
thanks for your help
April 20, 2016 at 2:37 pm #34431The only way to know an item is actually available is to go to live chat and quote the link. I have had too many long waits for products that are hot sale, backorder, supplier has let us down etc. Gearbest will not contact you if item is unavailable, they will wait for you to complain. The shipping estimates are not accurate.
May 7, 2016 at 7:47 am #36339I got my refund today as Paypal found in my favour, would not trust gearbest again as I do not believe they shipped it or the employees are taking packages. I ordered my tablet from Aliexpress and got everything I ordered.
May 10, 2016 at 7:02 pm #36685i ordered 3 tablet [cube i7 remix, x98 air and chuwi hi10] an tons of ecigarette gear and never get an issue… BUT.
I ALWAYS take insurrance for expensive gear…
I NEVER take pre-order except once, canceled by gearbest due to unavaible stock.
I don’t look at the calendar… I know it will take some time to arrive…
…After reading all these horror stories about orders going badly, i’m now hesitating to order from them again.
May 10, 2016 at 7:12 pm #36695And i forgot to say : for the tablets, i always ordered from the european depot. I guess this made the difference.
May 14, 2016 at 8:19 am #37251Guys,
I ordered 4 tablets from Gearbest a few weeks ago during their sale. It has been nothing but a horrible experiences.
After weeks of wait, they shipped out a keyboard of Tbook16 order without the TB16 tablet. Then they told me TB16 is coming in 10 days. Both were from the same order. t
Then they told me the Hi12 I ordered is no longer available in single OS, but I get a free upgrade to a dual OS if I agree to. I said yes. then they told me it’s no longer available and cancelled my ordered and refunded me.
After 4 weeks of chasing on the Tbook16, they told me it’s NO LONGER available because of manufacturere’s supply issues. So i requested to have the keyboard sent back. I returned from Shenzhen to their Shenzhen warehouse according to their instructions. It was signed for on May 3rd.
I sent them tracking proof this week telling them I am still waiting for my refund. They sent me back the tracking proof (that I sent them) and told me the packagage is on its way to their facility. I need to wait for 10 more days. What’s the point of this exercise of telling me the package i sent is on way to them but it’s already delivered and signed.?? It is a 2x usd keyboard, but this is too much pain for this small amount.
It’s my opinion that either they can’t cope sale’s heavy volume or they just deliberately want to waste customer’s time while most products can be bought on aliexpress.com
Chris, Please stop advertising for gearbest – Despite it’s my choice to buy from Gearbest, this experience reflects badly on your site too. I went to buy from the link and article you provided. I think the sponsorship can’t justify the trust.
Thank you for your attention.
Jack
May 14, 2016 at 8:22 am #37252After posting the last mesg, I am reading off some previous posts by other members. Sorry to hear so many users are going through the same ordeal with Gearbest…. sigh..
May 14, 2016 at 9:31 am #37261I bought a Chuwi HiBook and it’s keyboard dock from them 3 days ago and the order of course says “processing” still. After reading these comments, I was starting to feel scared for my order! On their site, I found in their FAQ that “processing” means:
Your payment has been received.
Generally, “processing” will take 3-10 business days* and includes 3 steps:
1. Receive and allocate stock to your order
2. Complete quality control for your items
3. Pack your items
*For more information about our dispatch time for your specific item, please refer to the product page and see i.e “Dispatch time: Ships with 7-15 days”.So I guess they don’t normally sell items they stock, but they order from their suppliers when you order from them. Huh…
I used to always check ResellerRatings before buying from an unknown-to-me web store. I forgot to do that… probably because of the endorsement here, which made me feel safe. But I went just now. And they have an awesome rating with lots of reviewers!! Ok, I’m feeling better now. Also, on the complaints at ResellerRatings, GearBest responds, which means you can pressure them with a negative review since they actually care about the reputation there.
I saved nearly $50 buying from GearBest instead of Amazon, where the HiBook was $209.99 (rather than 179.99) and keyboard was I think $56 (rather than $39.30). I hope I don’t have to wait for more than 2 weeks for it to ship. BTW, Expedited shipping was free also when I ordered, so I went for that. And I paid for the insurance, because why not? It was only $5.38!

May 14, 2016 at 9:48 am #37266Hi,
you really want to care about the “awesome ratings with lots of reviewers” ? You can do it but, are you sure they are from real customers ? Personnally, I see that when I posted a bad comment on GearBest, I see, in the hours that follow, many messages to flood my message.
Anyway, it must happen that sometimes customers are happy with GearBest. The problem is not that, it is that sometimes customers are really not happy with GearBest. GearBest is a crook !
If you want to have a chance of being reimbursed, you must pay with Paypal.
Best regards,
Patrick
May 14, 2016 at 10:51 am #37274i actually posted BEFORE i read all stories from other posters/buyers. I had been battling with gearbest for weeks and i was just looking for a place to warn other buyers and tell my side of the story. BE PREPARED TO GET UPSET if you order from them.
I can’t say whether anyone should buy from them but I certainly wouldn’t.

Yes, I trust ResellerRatings. They log IP addresses, require registered users with email verification of their accounts. They require invoice numbers when you leave a review. And they won’t post your review for 48 hours so they can review & approve the submission manually. I’ve been using and relying on them for over 10 years when it’s founder was running a tech community I was very active in and told us about it.
But I also trust the reviews in this forum on TechTablets.com. Maybe they’re worse regarding tablets because of the suppliers they have. But the ResellerRatings score with nearly 7,000 reviews, (about 33 per week currently) which sound real and not candy-coated (mostly) DOES give me a lot of assurance. I depend on seller reviews when buying from 3rd party merchants on Newegg, Amazon and eBay too.
I’m sure that there are some crooks that work at GearBest, like any big company. But I don’t think the whole company is crooked.
Maybe I’m just being optimistic about my pending order…
