yeah I had very slow wifi and the connection kept dropping and not working at any range from the router on mine. I opened it up and messed with the aerial a bit and it started working again. I did write a post a few months ago about what I did which should be findable.

How about when it’s running android? China tablets often suffer from battery failures unfortunately. There was done mention of type C devices being susceptible to power circuitry failure too.

Yes you need to root the tablet and use link2sd. I use an ext4 partition on my sd card for this purpose but that’s optional

If charging was controlled by the kernel then what controls charging when it is turned off

I’ve noticed some instability, especially recently. It may not be related. Generally occurs after waking the tablet. I haven’t switched it back yet though

I’d like to point out that there will be sample variation between the ram chips even within the same batch, and some will tolerate overclocking and different voltages better than others.

Init.d scripts should definitely get executed before link2sd starts, the script is just installed to mount the sdcard’s second partition early

Init.d scripts don’t get executed on boot on my tablet. That’s why i use the app to execute them

The app seems simple. It just gets automatically started when android boots and then just executes all installed init.d scripts (obviously it needs root to work). Of course, the scripts don’t execute during init phase this way and execute later (ie. After the UI and possibly other apps have automatically started).

I formatted the fat32 using some free fat 32 formatter tool for Windows (as Windows own tool doesn’t let you create large fat32 partitions). I resized the partition using gparted on Linux and created ext4. Initially for some reason, Windows refused to mount the fat32 partition after this, so i had to format that partition again using the same tool

I don’t think you likely have much in the way of warranty.. if they accept a tablet with partition alterations but not root then that’s quite bizarre imo

I have a 128GB SD card, 112GB fat32 primary, 16GB ext4 primary. I don’t remove the SD card whilst android is running because it will obviously cause problems. Also the init.d scripts weren’t working for me on the stock android on the tablet which meant that the sd wasn’t being mounted at boot. I installed an app called universal init.d which has fixed the problem. I wouldn’t install key apps to the sdcard (eg. Chrome), especially apps which automatically start themselves when you boot android. I just put the large games and things onto SD.
