Actually just flashed android on my HI12 without an issue following the instructions on the chuwi website, and using the no erase json file to make sure windows did not get erased. Once android was in English everything was fine, it’s fast and great to use. Might do the bios next to speed up the ram access.

I have a dual boot and restarted today, all good. Checked hidden updates using the tool, none showing. Turned off device updates to be safe, but wondering why mine has not tried to update by now.

I asked this on another thread too. Maybe it’s best to do all three, bios first followed by android then windows. Wonder if that’s how they do it at the factory.

    Hi,

Still failing to flash my android partition to stock, but having followed this forum it seems I should also flash the bios to upgrade the memory usage and prevent the WiFi loss. I want to follow the instructions on en.Chui.com however it says there that flashing the android will lose the windows partition, so I probably have to do windows afterwards.

For those of us like me that have no experience in this area, what order would I do this in? I assume bios first as its the main component, then android which will destroy windows, then finally windows? Given the amount of references to bricked tablets this is obviously a scary process for those of us with no experience.

    Thanks for any advice.

I was looking at the Chui instructions for installing stock android, there is a warning there that doing that will wipe the windows partition. Is this true, I don’t want to overcomplicate this.

    Hi Gregor,
When you say to get the machine into fastboot mode using the up/down keys I can do this but not sure I’m doing it right. I select android, hold down the keys and the CHUWI name comes up with DNX FASTBOOT written above in yellow letters – is that right?

Was that the tutorial you posted in the other thread that wiped out your windows partition?

I’ve been looking for this for a while as my android does not have gaps, I will try it and let you know.

I’ve got one, had it for couple weeks now. It’s been just fine, the screen is great and it seems plenty quick enough for me. It’s dual OS but I don’t really use the android one as WIN10 is better suited for me, have not bought the stylus yet as I don’t really need it. I had a ASUS transformer before and putting them against each other the HI12 looks fantastic, watching 4k videos is amazing compared to that. I bought it on the basis of the screen (it still seems to be the only one with the surface pro screen) and the functioning USB 3.0 port which easily powers my external drives. It got a good review on here too, and Chris would certainly know what he is talking about as his collection of tablets must be huge by now. And all of this for a mere $328 NZD, there was nothing else close.

So to be clear, when you ordered it online was it described as dual os, or single os? If it said dual os on the item you ordered but wasn’t when you got it you should return it to whoever you bought it from.

Destroyed? That’s unlikely, somebody has just got a tablet for free. This is really shabby service, it should have been left at your local post office with a note for you to collect.

Chuwi forum says that a tutorial for reloading android will be done soon, I think i’ll wait for that. Till then I’m using a real os, win10, and getting used to it. It actually boots quicker than android.
