How did you start a topic?

if keeps saying “error” topic cant be created at this time without as much as an explanation for why, and is it problems at my end, or ??.

Tried the last few days, to start a topic about a 2-1 I purchased, but nahh not doable.

Feel stupid that I port people over to this site. and I’m starting to see where the lack of activity comes from.

If you want help then make an effort and give people the information they need to even conclude what machine you’re talking about.

there is numerous gen of the Mi Air, and how the Sata3/NVMe M.2 sockets operate.

or give the TIMI or bios.

Murat’ your sure your plugging it the correct side up?

btw that one red is from AliExpress, cost around 6.5USD as I recall 1½ year back..but its for small 22×42 (just search on AliE for NGFF M.2 USB)

you can also get it for 22×80 USB m.2 socket USB like the above red but in longformfactor. costs arond 8USD-

otherwise you can just pick up a cheap 2USD M.2 to old style sata, and check the drive like a normal harddisk.

Yes got a bunch of these el cheapo china drives and got two more yesterday 512GB 22×80 and 512GB 22×42.

sofare they perform pretty decent. (took 8 secods to transfer an 4GB moviefile like the Mummy.) and here is the crystaldiskmarks in the second M.2 drive.

For the price of 115USD for 512GB and jst over 70USD for 256GB they at first hand aint half bad, but how they will stand up in the long run, cant say.

3 drives testscore below. (*22×42 512GB and *22×80 512GB and *22×42 256 all KingSpec brand, but the scores varies from one run to the next, pretty normal in Crystaldiskmark)

Gonnna use the 22×80 in Mi air13, the others will be used as fast storage-drive for our new OLED TV (LG-B7)

Btw the new spare battery (picture // 30USD) was pretty impressiv 0.0% wear and full capacity in test, the old native-one from summer17 (16.1% wear)

first a huge thanks to all the guys participating in this thread with information and guides and not least the first movers.

I have been also fiddling with the Cube Iwork1x that i picked p in a snap up offer on BG some months back at attractive price

and after it arrived and looks decent, I decided to jump on the matching keyboarddock CDK08 as BG had it for around 30 at the time with coupons in matching silverwhite color, and together looks pretty decent with the price in mind..

purchased this set’ to give to my mom, but the lack of android does result in she doesnt use it much, as the apps she likes are often android-ones and are not present in windows..

so was wondering, to fit it up with dual boot package from Techtablet download’section and been trying to boot the image..but after reading the entries in this thread from the last month.. I will haul that project and accept the win10-only for the time being,

Atm it doesnt look like simple “abc-routine” to get a working dual boot bios fitted in a win10-only device.

It will charge thrue the hub.

many of these el cheapo devices carry PD, same with this one.https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Metal-Casing-Type-C-To-4-Port-USB-3-0-Hub-OTG-Charger-Cable-Adapter-Multiport/32806438878.html?

But the question is what kind of charge will it deliver.

I got the mi air13 with also USB-C charging, and that is massive 65wattage, so around 3.25amp at 20v. and i highly doubt these ell cheapo hubs can maintain that.

the Mi ai12 if remember correct is a little slower and comes with 45watt AC TypeC charger. and it would supprise me if this hub are able to handle such hrelative high effect.

Perhaps you will encounter that it delivers 5w thrue its PD feature at relative low amp. and that toogle to handle the voltage down and lower the amp, and it will heat it up. (if it takes it to standard 5v thrue its PD feature from a fx 20v typeC input, then the mi air wont accept it, it sems to need it in the 20v ballpark // at least the 13 vers..) and thats useally the problem with el cheapo hubs (lack of potent cirquit parts) or el cheapo cables (lack of  strings) that it simply doesnt have the parts to maintain the effect all the way, and you will encounter a huge drop in the end….

But please give notice when you recive it, and hw it handle the power delivery.

the Havic looks very promissing, but certainly also quite expensiv.

btw is the max bandwdith in the native TypeC multi socket on mi air13 – 5GB or 10GB, i reckon its 5GB for the 2x USB3 or??

Its on Gearbest atm’ coupon “NEWMIAIR”

Just have in mind Chris, that Im not convince that it carries NVMe drive, like 256gb version’ where there is a good chance it also PM961

    Could be a 128gb sata3 ssd in the m.2 sata3 slot , like the case on 2016 12.5 128gb version.

Sofare any sum’up about differences? sofare i reckon its perhaps solely coreM 7gen and intel 8265’4gen with mimo support while previus carried 8260’3gen

what about fingerprint’feature, is that exclusive to 13 version in the newer mi air 2017 lineup, the pictures & info on Gearbest doesnt show it, and it could be down to just using last years promomateriel.

// it does seem the 256gb version goes at 559USD (silver) and are stock. (HK warehouse) though gold-version cost 810usd.
