Hello, Tablet worked very fine for 3 days. Suddenly i think there was a Windows crash and the Windows was not able to repair it or, the boot device could not be founld. This iWork8 Cube Air was a dual boot. You have the full dual boot firme ware? I would like to install the original software as it wass. I tried everyting, restore and clean new install. I then tried to install Windows 10, but at the setup ony the USB bootstick is found. the eMMC is not found. I did read on the internet in you cannot install windows on UEFI based computer running in bios mode. But i think it is running in EFI mode. http://superuser.com/questions/965188/problems-with-emmc-and-windows-8-1 You have a linkt of the original dual boot image? I want to recover all partion to original.
Yes. It has already been posted on page 1.
And finally, the Android only version. I tested it mysfelf on my fresh new iWork8 Air and everything went ok. Now I have and Android only tablet. It includes the Intel Flash tool and USB drivers. [Cube iWork8 Air Android Only Firmware-20160617] https://goo.gl/3w8VYh
December 20, 2016 at 1:26 pm #58988The ZTE Nubia Z7 Max is on sale now for 97$ / 915 SEK. Yes, it’s a 2014 flagship, but an unofficial 7.1.1 rom is available. Check TechUtopia’s review if in doubt. You can’t buy a phone like this for this price.
The Mi5 is seeing a hefty price drop now. If you like custom roms go with the Xiaomi Mi5. Cyanogenmod has official support for it.
December 12, 2016 at 11:58 am #58442Jerry, You mean no support from Vido or from Jumper? Chris on this site provided drivers from both of them in the downloads section, ain’t it enough? About the VI 10 Plus – It’s a 2 GB RAM device with 32 Internal Memory – Sounds to me as if it’s too weak.
Then get the 4 gb ram version. https://www.fasttech.com/product/5709600-chuwi-vi10-plus-10-8-ips-quad-core-tablet-pc-64gb 🙂 Problem solved. Plus you can flash CM 12.1 / CM 13.1 / Remix OS 2.0 roms on it. All reported issues have been fixed and a new kernel has been made by KonstaT at Modaco (http://www.modaco.com/forums/forum/445-other-devices/)
If you want an unsupported device go with Vido or Jumper.
December 12, 2016 at 3:48 am #58436I would go with the Chuwei Vi10 Plus.
December 12, 2016 at 1:04 am #58430Seems like you can find the answer here http://bbs.teclast.com/thread-777063-1-1.html
December 12, 2016 at 12:59 am #58429Try flashing “[PORT][ROM][15.7.] Remix OS 2.0 (Android 5.1.1) for Cube iWork8 Ultimate & iWork8 Air” from Modaco and see if the problem persists.
December 9, 2016 at 11:32 am #58299I found this via Cube’s forum. http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4500774866.
It’s a guide on how to get Remix OS 2.0 on the iWork10 (ported from the Teclast X98 Plus). User winsisixixi writes: “camera, Internet, Bluetooth, direction ….. all worked perfectly, thank you”.
Combining that with Laura’s “The big thread of How-Tos” -> “Flashing a modified boot image (android)” seems to do the trick as far as I can conclude from translating the Chinese to English. In the thread at Baidu, there’s a link to a file called “Flash_tool_x98_PLUS_v1.1.rar” (http://pan.baidu.com/s/1i5Q1hIH) – not sure you need it, but check it out.
Can you test that please?
Remix 3.0 is based on Marshmallow, currently Cherry Trail only supports Lollipop.
December 9, 2016 at 11:25 am #58298Which shipping method did you choose?
December 7, 2016 at 2:37 pm #58177The thing is, Chinese brands purchase the units at a large volume manufacturers. They are basically just re-selling a batch of generic tablets bought at one of the manufacturers in Shenzhen. That’s why you don’t see any support from most companies. Go to Globalsources and type in “Skylake” “z8300” or “z8500” and you will see one of your tablets – just without Chuwi, Cube, Teclast etc. plastered on it.
December 7, 2016 at 2:18 pm #58175ess internet, anyone have any clue?
If you don’t need Windows, I’d recommend flashing Remix OS on your tablet. Or CM if you prefer. Both available at Modaco.
December 7, 2016 at 2:17 pm #58174Just had my first brush with a Chuwi (Hi10) and it kept rebooting randomly in Windows 10 when running with the charger disconnected, but with plenty of battery. So, I am now in the market for another tablet and wondered whether all the Chuwis are crap, or whether I was just unlucky. Is there a particular model which is a lemon ? Is there a particular model which has had the problems ironed out and is generally a good tablet to have ? Thanks for any replies.
I just ordered the Chuwi Vi10 Plus. KonstaT over at Modaco has fixed the kernel, so common issues of freezing are now fixed (Android only). Gearbest got it on offer right now.
November 12, 2016 at 1:37 pm #56823Thanks for that. Anyone deployed it yet ? is there a guide ? Need to reset my tablet this weekend and the windows partition isn’t working.
Do you use Windows on the tablet? I would recommend installing Remix OS instead.
