I am working from home at the moment on my F7 running Xubuntu. Easy to install using Etcher to create the bootable USB. The trackpad does not work out of the box but there is a fix for Ubuntu and it’s derivatives, available via a search. i’m enjoying the experience so far. I had to resort to Linux as my F7 does not play nicely with Windows. Somethi;nig to do with teh display driver or GPU, the screen kept freezing and resetting. I tried reinstalling windows but got the same problem. No such issues with Xubuntu.
June 15, 2018 at 10:14 pm #143905Thanks for this. this fix worked for me.
However, I really want a similar fix for Manjaro as it seems to be much faster than ubuntu, however, I have no idea how to do it or even whether your fixed kernel would work with Manjaro. Do you know?
Thanks

During the windows install process I didn’t experience the issue once.
June 7, 2018 at 1:14 pm #143697Took a while to get round to using it in earnest and then thought it was a software issue so tried the other things I listed.
Do you have any helpful suggestions?
June 10, 2016 at 11:35 am #40436err….why does the title of this thread now say “solved”?
May 6, 2016 at 8:24 am #36245Hi.
All you have to do is go in to the SuperSU app>>settings and there is an option to fully unroot the device.
That worked for me and I was able install “Good” and other corporate apps on my phone.
Re-installing root may be a bit trickier though, although doing a “dirty” flash of the mirek ROM would probably work and still keep your apps and data. But, the tablet works perfectly fine without root so not sure why you would need it.
April 25, 2016 at 8:55 pm #35053Thnaks, that worked. Flashed succesfully. Howwever, once booted it has just been sitting on the “Remix OS” splash screen for the last 10 mins. Should I be worried?
April 25, 2016 at 8:33 pm #35050Hi Guys, I am struggling with this a bit I’m afraid. I am trying to use Intel Flash ToolLite 5.5.1.0. I can select the right file, I can set to ‘update’ mode, I can put the tablet (AC58) in to DNX mode, the tool then recognises it. However, when I press the button to start the flash it fails straight away as it doesn’t know how to reboot the device. What am I doing wrong? I have tried putting it in bootloader mode by holding Vol – and power but this just takes me to the normal splash screen to choose between windows and android. Is there a different tool I should be using? Thanks
March 24, 2016 at 11:13 am #30714I flashed the new ROM on my dual boot last night. It works well and also allowed me to unroot using SuperSU and successfully install “Good Work” (needed for work email). Unfortunatley, it doesn’t stop Good Work crashing the way it used to on the stock ROM.
However, I notice that the initial dual boot splash screen is no longer there. When I switch on the tablet it boots in to whichever OS was last used (Win10 or Android). Am I missing something?
Thanks
March 23, 2016 at 9:15 am #30516Thanks Mirek, but I don’t quite understand. Does this mean it wouldn’t work or that there is a risk in trying it? If I tried it and something went wrong would I be able to flash the stock ROMs as per the geekbuying website? Thanks
March 22, 2016 at 4:50 pm #30417Hi.
Can you tell me, once installed can this ROM be un-rooted easily? I need to have an unrooted device to run “Good Work” for work emails. It currently crashes on the ready-installed ROM. Thanks
