Did you pay with Paypal because as far as I recall you get up to 9 months to do a chargeback.
June 21, 2018 at 3:40 pm #144058I know it’s a nightmare mate. It’s a lesson learned for me. Mental note to myself – only use these guys for £10 bluetooth headphones and stuff like that. Everything else I’m sticking to my own country from now on.
June 20, 2018 at 9:40 pm #144041No it’s soldered.
June 20, 2018 at 5:08 pm #144038Go through Paypal and do a Item Not As Described. Insist to Geekbuying that you want to send it back to Germany. They will relent in the end and send you the address like they did for me. Send it back and get your money back. Like Chupa has said these cheap laptops are just not worth the hassle. I’m glad I sent mine back to Germany and got a refund before using it. I did charge it up for 30 minutes just to test the screen and the charger and battery were so hot that I am in no doubt if I had kept it the battery would have expanded. I think the chargers are faulty. Even though I sent it back to the German address provided (tracked and signed for) I had to resort to Paypal to get some sort of response from Geekbuying as they would not refund me. I won’t be using Geekbuying again I can tell you.
June 1, 2018 at 8:51 pm #143562That doesn’t sound good. Maybe you should return it.
June 1, 2018 at 4:12 pm #143557From reading on the net it seems it doesn’t matter with it being an AC power supply.
Cheers.
May 30, 2018 at 7:31 pm #143483Hi Chupa.
Thanks. Will try that and report back. Does it take long do you know?
May 26, 2018 at 8:01 pm #143352OK thanks guys.
When I bought it I knew it was a lottery but on geekbuying it says you have 14 days if you don’t like it and with PayPal you get free return shipping so I thought it was worth a spin.
Like I said in another thread maybe they have to open the box to put in a UK plug adapter? But a lot of unboxing vids I’ve seen on YouTube have seals on them.
Either way it’s going back. Now I have to try and organise that via their support and they seem to take ages to reply to emails and their English is less than perfect.
May 26, 2018 at 7:49 pm #143351Hi.
I may have jumped the gun on the open box thing. Maybe they have to open the box to put the plug adapter in. Still I’m used to getting sealed stuff here in the UK. I’ve got feeling the IPS screens are an earlier batch. Maybe the oem made a mistake for batch of them.
I’m tempted to get the f7 but I have just put 18.04 on my current chromebook (which was running 16.04) and it runs a lot better so I’m not sure what do.
May 25, 2018 at 11:04 am #143317Just recieved a 3L Pro from Germany Geekbuying. When the courier gave it me I thought “uh oh” as the box had gaffer tape around the edges. Sure enough it was an TN panel and probably a return.
What is the score on Geekbuying sending out open box returns as new? I thought you had to advertise it as new or open box?
I’ve just set up a return ticket.
